    Breathe deeply. You still feel good, don't you? Energy wise, body comp wise? Let that evidence speak for itself for now. Hormonal issues aren't forever. Growths are often benign (though you want to make sure of that 100%).

    Thanks sweet heart <3 Yeah, I feel great actually! The period stressed me a bit, but other than that I haven't felt stressed or panicy in more than a month.

    I'm looking at my results again and possibly my oestrogen has dropped, because we weren't sure what stage of my cycle I was at when I got tested initially. But yeah, we'll see

    Sorry I haven't popped in to your journal to say hello - I did lurk there but wanted to wait for a quiet moment to say hey Glad you had a good time on your trip! Loved the pics. xx

          I've noticed you mention having some good success w/ your hair growth (you went thru some serious shedding at one time? I haven't got to that part of your journal yet..) Would you mind sharing what you've done & what you think most helped? I rcv'd some good advice from Derp ... need to go back and find it. But what about you?

          i reacted to biotin in the past and have stopped taking it.

          so sleepy but this was an urgent question on my insomniac mind!!

            Hey lady, for most of my twenties my hair was shit. Giving up gluten was the key for me! As soon as I cut it out, my hair stopped falling out. Now it looks as good as it did when I was a teenager The gelatine makes it grow faster.

            About two weeks ago I got some shedding, and I'm pretty sure this was cos' my iron got too low. I started focusing on iron rich meals and the shedding stopped.

            Thing is though - hair loss seems to be a symptom of sooo many things. A lot of people lose hair when they go low carb, but that was never an issue for me when I was on that woe. Are you losing hair? Do you know when it started?

              Hey back! I agree; so many factors can contribute to hair loss that I feel compelled to throw out a wide net, learn as much as I can, etc. blah blah blah.

              I completely think it was going LC plus stressful year that did it. I'm shedding way less now but of course, I'm an impatient, gimme-it-now person about this issue. Feels like I failed by not being watchful about symptoms I was having during those stressful times.

              Started being more aware of my iron intake too, calcium. Protein is my BIG hurdle. I just can't seem to get enough in me daily. I notice I shed a lot just before mensus. Which you said is "off" for you so maybe that explains your 2 weeks? Maybe your hormones?

              Is Great Lakes the gelatin you take? I've really appreciated you sharing your experiences, you've been a doll about it. Now about your name; do you teach yoga.....naked?

                How come you don't get enough protein?? Wow. After a lot of experimentation, I've come to the conclusion that it's the most crucial component of diet. And actually, it's the main focus of what I eat - the carbs are just subsidiary - and it's working out really well! I seem to be losing fat and building/maintaining lean muscle.

                I'm not in the US, so I use a European brand of gelatine. If I was in the US I'd go for Knox though - it's definitely my favourite

                Oh, it's my pleasure, seriously! It's fun to talk about all these things, and I'm just so relieved that something is finally working for me... I can understand now why people get so didactic and insist that their way is the right way... it's hard to believe that something can work so well for you and not work for another person.

                My username - hah It's actually a few things. I did my yoga training on a beach, so wore a bikini a lot, but it's mostly referring to this idea that I want to be transparent. I don't like the idea of having an image online - I want to be honest in every aspect of life. Also, Yogi Bear is a nick name given to me by my little bro, and YB are my initials

                • Hey Yoga, hows the derma roller working for you?

                  I just wanted to ask where in the UK (?) you purchased yours and if you are pleased with it. The one I have 'works' but it often squeaks and sometimes doesn't roll against my skin, but instead gets stuck!!! Not good since that can scratch the skin quite badly, so I might send it back. I think it's making a difference (not to breakouts though) and obviously these things take time to really work. Also, which gelatin do you buy? I've found one on Amazon.co.uk by NOW Foods, £17 for 500grams, so quite a bit cheaper than great lakes. (like spk, I don't get enough protein in my diet and gelatin is a good way to get more, in the form of jello!)

                  With the hair, protein is key since hair is made up on over 90% protein, I believe (Keratin).

                    Hey Nstocks! I haven't actually started using it cos' I still haven't bought the solution to clean my roller with But I bought one from here: OwnDoc dermaroller - OwnDoc webshop

                    It's the site that's recommended on the skin care forum I go to. that's great that it's working out for you though. I used my new copper peptides on my hands last night for the first time. Will be interesting to see what they do.

                    I buy Dr. Oetker beef gelatine - it's £1.50 for 70gs and you can get it in most stores I much prefer knox though, but we can't get it here.

                    Hair could honestly be anything... it's a symptom of so many things. I definitely get enough protein anyway.

                    • Thanks for that link, they have very helpful information. The application is slightly different to what I've read to, better infact because it says to lift the roller after each pass which makes sense. They recommend Vit C for collagen... I always though it was Vit E for collagen. Ahh yes, I know about Dr. Oetker, we actually have some at home!

                        No worries! Yeah, everything I've read about Dermarolling says to prep the skin first with VIt A and C. Most people say you have to do this with topicals, but there is some suggestion that focusing on dietary sources may be sufficient.

                        This is a site I use sometimes - it's got soo much information on skin care and products. Maybe not your thing, but sometimes men do post their problems up there (things like acne, wrinkles etc). Maybe you could ask about your dark circles. EDS Skin Care Forum

                        • Right now I'm just using an organic Vit E cream and supplementing with liquid Vit E and A. I think that should be enough.

                          I'm going to register right away and ask about my dark circles. It's quite worrying (and annoying) to have them at my age, let alone 19 years old when I first noticed them. One thing I've been doing lately is shaving with just warm water. No creams or anything, and I'm finding that my hairs are cut closer and I don't breakout as much after shaving. Also my skin is as smooth as glass. It doesn't look that way, but it's becoming a (bad) habit it mine to keep touching it because it's so soft! I think OJ helps skin too - I remember when I was in school I ate oranges for my packed lunch and how when I stopped, acne became worse.

                            • Ha, feels like forever since I wrote in here, but it's only been four days Don't even know if anyone's still reading, but here goes.

                              Feeling very weird about food again. When I came back from Ireland I was really hungry, and had three days in a row of eating "full calorie days" (estimating 2K). This isn't exactly a problem, because I'm tall and I'm active but I found it weird that my appetite had come back. Still being 7 lbs from my goal weight meant that I was enamoured with this.

                              Then on Saturday, I was seriously craving ice cream all day. I ate my three meals, then went out with some friends and got desert (chocolate mouse and ice cream), then went to the grocery store and bought 1.5 litres of ice cream and ate it all Yesterday I didn't really eat, then today I ate even more than Saturday. I had my three meals, which came to circa 2K cals, then I ate two pints of vanilla ice cream, three square dark chocolate, and 220gs goat's cheese High fat foods.

                              I wouldn't mind if it had just been Saturday that I'd done this, but twice in three days scares me. I still feel like I was craving fat, but I don't know why I suddenly need to eat so much...

                              Thing is, things are good in my life! So I don't even feel like I'm comfort eating. Apart from a fight with my mum, my work, love, and social life are all pretty amazing. I've been really busy, but it's been good. Not sure what to make of all this...

                              Last night I was walking through the park and a guy asked me for directions. We got chatting and he had a camera on him, and told me he was a photographer. Long story short, he started telling me I was beautiful and asked if he could take my pic, before offering to do free portfolio yoga shots. This was a great offer, so I gave him my number.

                              Today I've literally gotten 30 phone calls and text messages from him today, begging me to meet him, and making raunchy comments about yoga porn...

                              I never learn.

                              • You know how Ombat has this theory that appetite (in normal people) waxes and wanes in cycles. So maybe that's what's happening to you? Also, maybe you ate a lot today because you didn't really eat yesterday? When you don't really eat on one day, it's normal to eat a lot the next day. That's what I was doing on JUDDD.
