    Been thinking about the FOUR foods I won't eat... I feel this list is much shorter than 'what I will eat' and consequently, easier to keep track of.

    grains (wheat, rice, corn, quinoa, i.e. pasta, bread, crackers, cake, cookies, tarts, chips, donuts, toast, bagels, etc.)
    sugars (candy, ice cream, syrup, honey, icing, kool-aid, etc.)
    tubers (potatoes, although I do eat Yams on occasion.)
    legumes (beans, peas, soy, peanuts, etc.)

    I practice the SeeFood diet. At the grocery store: if I cannot see the food, I do not buy it. For example, a box of pasta, or cereal, or a health "nutrition" bar. Those are packaged so that the actual food is not visible. Meat, cheese, apples, even bacon are all packaged so the food can be seen. I buy them. Fresh fruits and vegetable are all visible, you can hold them in your hand and sniff them for freshness!

    There are a few exceptions on both sides, however.

    Bread can usually be seen through its packaging. oops!
    Pasta can sometimes be seen through the bag or box. oops!
    Eggs can be seen, but you must open the lid. yay!
    Milk or Orange Juice in plastic jugs and glass bottles can be seen. yay!
    Cheese is sometimes in opaque packages but rarely. yay!
    Frozen berries and frozen seafood is usually in opaque bags. yay!
    Butter usually cannot be seen. yay!
    Yogurt usually cannot be seen. yay!

    And my wife repeats the adage:
    "stay out of the middle of the grocery store."
    Which is true. In our local Safeway, we walk the perimeter of the store, venturing one aisle in to pick up frozen veges and fruits.

      Skiing yesterday! Yes. it was a great day, sun in the early early morning and a snow-storm rolled in about 11a. Skied about 3-4 hours total. Not as sore as the first time (Feb 1st), so it appears that things are looking up for a decent season exercise-wise. Looking forward to the next storm...

        Skiing today. Big snow storm and lots of fresh snow happening now!

              Not much in the way of exercise this month. Stopped drinking diet soda in the first week of April, but still drank beer, wine, and other hard alcohol. Not a whole lot, and I mostly drink water with meals.

                Still going strong. My lowest weight in the past month was 157. Memorial Day took a toll on my weight, as you can see by the chart below.

                I took up the sport of "slackline" on May 9th. Been spending an hour or so each afternoon (with a couple rest days in there) learning to balance, walk, and turn on a slackline. It is a great core workout, even just 15 mins per day! Here is a link to a journal of my slackline beginnings: http://milehighslacker.wordpress.com/

                Still haven't had any diet sodas since April 1. Drink a beer or two once in a while. And a glass of wine at times. Maybe a Tom Collins here or there.

                Doing some biking now that the weather is nice. And I re-started my efforts in push-ups and chin-ups. 8 chin-ups today, 16 push-ups yesterday.

                    Today is measurement day!
                    Not only that, but it is my one-year anniversary of measurement day!
                    I began keeping track of my measurements on October 3rd, 2012.
                    Total lost: 11kg since tracking measurements, 12kg since Sep 25, 2012.
                    I lost 5 inches in my belly!
                    And I lost 7 pounds since I started Slacklining in May.

                        Today is measurement day!
                        After 14 months of being as Primal as I can, here is my info:

                        Measurements on Dec 3 2013:
                        weight: 69kg (152)
                        belly: 34.5"
                        biceps 12"
                        chest: 41"

                        When I started this journey, I began an exercise regime that included doing daily push-ups. Looking through my logs, I also did some push-ups in April of this year. At that time, I was doing 16 push-ups at a time. In May, I started learning to do slackline. I also stopped doing push-ups. I hadn't done any push-ups since April, and earlier this month I thought I would try to see how many I could do. I did 30! This tells me that core strength is very important to other exercises! My biceps are not any larger than they were in April but I can do twice as many push-ups!

                            Today is measurement day!

                            After 16 months of being as Primal as I can, here is my info:

                            Measurements on Feb 3 2014:
                            weight: 68.1kg (150)
                            belly: 34.5"
                            biceps 12"
                            chest: 40.5

                            Turned 50 last week, and celebrated by eating a ton of dark chocolate this week, and drinking some alcohol. Have a few pounds to lose to get back to my happy weight. Was at 146 earlier in the month, and would like to get back there. Not much slacklining on account of an injured knee and it being winter outside. Have been practicing once per week indoors just to keep fom losing the skill.

                              Today is measurement day!
                              After 18 months of living primally, here is my info:

                              Measurements on April 3 2014:
                              weight: 68.2kg (150)
                              belly: 34"
                              biceps: 12"
                              Chest: 41"

                              Have been on a dark chocolate kick these past few weeks. Can't get enough of the stuff! While I still don't eat many carbs from sugars or grains, I am probably not eating as healthy as I can but enjoying life, as it were. Started drinking a glass of water with a tsp of potato starch in it. Read the articles about Resistant Starches, thought I'd try it out. Also, getting ready to start the slackline season. Had one or two outdoor sessions already, but today it snowed and we still have some ski tickets left to use, so slackline will hopefully take off in full in the next few weeks.

                                weight: 70.0kg (154)
                                belly: 35"
                                biceps: 11.5"
                                Chest: 41"

                                Still on a dark chocolate kick. Can't get enough of the stuff! While I still don't eat many carbs from sugars or grains, I am probably not eating as healthy as I can but enjoying life, as it were. Today I weight the same as I did one year ago.
