  • Okay, this is a stupid question, but I can't find the answer on the UP website. Can you do the tracking on a regular computer? They list all sorts of devices, none of which I have. I just have a regular old PC.

    • I don't think so, I use my iPhone (an old one that still works), but I'm not an expert. I think you can use the fit bit and Nike fuel with a PC.

      • That is how it seems. Not practical for me to get a device to make the device work! But maybe in the future.

        Speaking of devices, I have that recipe stored to use when I get my new crockpot that I just ordered! I'm getting a 3.5 quart Cuisinart, which I think will be great for single old me.

        • Slept okay. Having coffee and catching up. Then jumping in the shower and getting ready for clinic. Hoping it goes well when I tell doc I will be out all of September. Laundry and leftovers tonight.

          • Clinic was not bad. Had a student . Pork was good. Had leftover salads with it. Laundry started. Making beef shanks tomorrow. Spinach/kale sauté to go with. Need to work on my last paper. Have facial and pedi scheduled.

            • Nice! I like manicures......... but not pedicures. My feet are very ticklish and the whole thing just makes me stressed! I'm concentrating on not jerking or pulling my foot away - or giggling like an idiot the entire time. I find nothing relaxing about it.
              1. Love ME no matter what noises are screaming at me, or who is trying to tear me down.
              2. Eat to heal
              3. Move to live
              4. Embrace today
              5. Live with intention
              6. Respect my body
              7. Cultivate joy
              8. Find my passion

              • Slept okay. Legs are tired as I wore my barefoot tennies yesterday at clinic. Stood and/or walked unless I was charting. Plan on being relatively lazy today. I've got today and tomorrow to get paper done. Spa this afternoon. Dinner has to get in slowcooker by 10. Off to get coffee.

                • Changed my plans. I'm taking my free day today. Will write and turn in paper tomorrow. Beef shanks are cooking in slow cooker. Spa got moved to Monday. I just didn't want to go anywhere today. Also DH is home and I can't write with him here. He's got a new job and will be moving to day shift and weekends off. I will miss my evenings and weekends for homework.

                  • Beef shanks melted in your mouth. I served them over kale braised in butter and chicken stock with garlic. Used up the last cucumber making more of the salad with feta, but used fresh squeezed lime juice instead of vinegar. Over all dinner was yum!

                    • I am pretty sure there are beef shanks in my future. Wouldn't it be nice if my new slower cooker arrived today?

                      I'm looking at the UP and the FitBit. Right now I am thinking the FitBit would be best for me. Obviously I have the device problem and I like the different wristbands you can get with the FitBit, although the UP is definitely extremely slick looking. Would love to track my steps, although I can see that these devices aren't good for swimmers, although you can add the swimming manually.

                      • I looked at both and then saw a picture of Nom Nom Paleo's hand with an UP and that made up my mind.

                        • Slept around 6 1/2 hours (I think). Woke up easily. Usual morning routine. Tomorrow I start walking again. Recovery post surgery will be easier if I've been walking regularly before hand. Paper and leftovers today.
