  • So I'm home. Flight got in, but my ride was about 30 minutes late due to traffic. As I mentioned to Tomi, I fasted 21 hours and then had salad with chicken at the airport. Cramping is gone. Still feel bloated. Have no clue what I will cook for dinner. Maybe a frittata as there is some leftover pork chop in the fridge. Dogs were thrilled to see me okay off to bed.

    • Slept okay. Got a call from surgeon this morning and the girls are scheduled to loose about 10lbs on 9/3/13! I won't work all of September, because I can't fly and can't get kicked (a perk of working pediatrics).

      • ? I can only figure this means you are having the girls removed? Or reduced?

Nice way to get a month off!

          • Losing ten pounds in one day and a month holiday? Putting it that way it doesn't sound too bad! I'm sure it will be a relief to get it over with.

              What she said.

Although I can't relate...on a good day in the right bra I can sometimes fill out a B cup properly. The good side to this is that finding a decently supportive sports bra isn't particularly challenging.

Best part about the surgery will be the removal of all that excess potentially lump forming tissue. That's awesome.

Just hope recovery goes well. I've been researching and eating a high protein diet speeds healing as does slow steady activity before and after. No lifting, no sleeping on my side. I've been looking at pillow wedges and front button cotton sleep shirts for the first week or so when I've got drains. Fortumately we have a handicap shower with bench and hand-shower in the second down stairs bedroom. I've got chicken bone broth in the freezer and I'm making beef bone broth in the slow cooker right now.

That and fitting into "normal" shirts and bras!

                  • Slept okay - boy I miss my UP (they are sending a replacement). House smells fantastic with the bone broth. I started a pork loin (super sale) in the slow cooker with garlic, salt, paprika. I will do the ribs slow in the oven this afternoon. I've got a whole chicken and 4 beef osso bucco in the defrost bowl. I'm on a cooking roll...... . Now I need to finish the grocery list, make a grocery run, and finish a paper and turn in by this evening (yes, I've waited until the last minute - but I just couldn't get into doing it). Will update later.

                      • DS came home from work and wanted to know what smells so good? Bone broth strained and in freezer. Ribs with dry rub in oven on 240 for 4 1/2 hours, pork loin in slow cooker, German potato salad cooling........ What smells good? ALL OF IT!!! . Paper written and sent. Grocery shopping done.

                        • I hope the men in your family are down on their knees thanking the God of Cooking that you are their Goddess! I am wiping the drool off my keyboard just reading about it. Think of the people out there who are facing McDonalds or a frozen pizza for dinner tonight. Makes me sad. But I will cheer myself up by thinking of your family tucking into such bounty.

Is this what you have? Jawbone - Products for Your Mobile Lifestyle What color? I know you have talked about it before, but has reliability been a problem? I keep hearing about these and I am getting more and more interested, but it seems they break a lot.

I've had mine since valentine day this year and wore it 24-7 unless I was charging it. They tried a soft reset (sent me directions) and when that didn't work are replacing it no questions, no charge. I got black because I thought I could pass it off as jewelry and they didn't have pink.

Made me laugh! I also made a thinly sliced English cucumber with 1/4 red onion thinly sliced with olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and feta cheese salad. We are eating good tonight........and tomorrow.......and well the whole weekend! and I still have the beef shank bones (I'm making this http://cavegirlcooks.com/2012/01/09/...-tomato-sauce/) and whole chicken in the defrost bowl in the fridge.

                              • Pork loin shredded, cooled, and in fridge. Ribs fell off the bone. Salads were perfect with. Chardonnay and movie night after kitchen was cleaned. I packed rib meat and salads for lunch tomorrow.
