Yes, these things take time, something none of us get more of. But just rambling here.
    He knows he is annoying me and I've told him I'm "grumpy". Your right about balance. I don't really have friends where I live and of course many of those I had before we moved have not hung in there. So isolation could be the problem.

      Unfortunately, we like different things. His idea of fun is watching movies/tv all day. I like to read and used to like to bake (not so much now, as I'm trying to eat clean).

      • I was thinking more in the way of activities that take you outside.......... bike riding or walking or a drive in the country? Do you drink wine? a weekend of visiting some wineries and sampling the wares? go to a movie together. do some gardening together.
        1. Love ME no matter what noises are screaming at me, or who is trying to tear me down.
        2. Eat to heal
        3. Move to live
        4. Embrace today
        5. Live with intention
        6. Respect my body
        7. Cultivate joy
        8. Find my passion
        9. Meditate on peace in my soul

          He doesn't drink wine. Humidity 80+% with 90-100 degrees during summer makes outside not fun. He doesn't like driving long periods of time. Yes, I know excuses and justifications......I will think on it.

          • there has to be something that the 2 of you can do together that you both find enjoyable. What did you do in your younger days? What was your favorite dating activity (besides that........ )

              • Again, this is probably stupid advice, but I am thinking of some activity that you can do on your own or with a friend. Like see a film with a girlfriend - one that he probably wouldn't like but you would. Sometimes a little distance can bring you closer.

                  • Slept about 7 hours light>deep. No clinic today. Pork in slow cooker. Will do laundry, bills, and odds and ends today. Weather is tolerable today, may take pups for a walk, depends on humidity as they get too pooped if its high and I can't carry Latte home (she weighs way too much and is too long). I probably will read and relax later on.

                        On the idea of doing something with a gf --- great idea for you --- but might not be the best for the marriage side of the equation. Sometimes finding hobbys and interests to the exclusion of the spouse can further the feelings of "discontent". I think its important to find a way to re-connect, re-kindle, and fall in love in a different way.

                          • Truly a lazy day. I did two small loads of laundry (I only do my stuff. The boys do their together). Put the pork in slow cooker. Made a couple of phone calls I had been putting off. Answered emails. Read. Still in my PJs. Don't have that luxury tomorrow. Juliet has a hair and vet appointment. I need to pay bills, go to the grocery store, and cook for the 4th.

                            • Slept a bit over 8 hours with deep > light. Having my mocha made with coffee, unsweetened vanilla almond milk and unsweetened cocoa flavonoides. Getting ready to take Juliet to the groomer. Then off to the grocery store.......
