  • Almond crusted cod, broiled cabbage with lemon, roasted snap peas with sesame oil, and smashed roasted potatoes with butter and rosemary. Using stuff from veggie basket. Probably fresh pineapple for dessert.

    • Slept about 9 hours last night. Sat out in the sun a bit before dinner. Swung my hammer some before going to bed. Pepper steak in slow cooker today. Will have a lazy morning until DH goes to work, then homework, and some filing are on the schedule. Will sit out side again to get some natural D going and try to get the fish belly color off my legs!

          • Slept a restless 7 hours. More homework today. Doing a slow cooker pepper steak for dinner. Swung my hammer yesterday. Maybe a walk with DH and dogs today - depends on weather, as its supposed to rain. I may need a power nap. I need to finalize the Orlando trip details, but was unwilling without knowing results. I'm going to finalize and if I need surgery, they will have to work around my schedule. I need to remind my self that I refuse to by made a patient instead of a person. Ok will add to my list.

            • Got dinner started and some laundry done, but just do not want to do homework. I know I need to, but I just want to veg or sleep lately. Might be mildly depressed with everything going on, I guess. I need to get out of this slump, but unsure how. Suggestions, please?

              • Do you have any St. John's wort? This helps me a lot, or passionflower.
                Also, any exercise and water will make you feel happier.
                Putting anything in order will help; light housekeeping,
                cleaning out a drawer or two, de-cluttering anywhere helps me.
                Get out in the sun and read something uplifting, play with kids or pets.
                Hope you feel better!!

                • Well, you know me. My suggestion is usually to drink heavily. Other than that, sunlight. Maybe drinks in the sunlight? Or go to a movie or watch one at home.

                          • Pepper steak was good. DS had rice with his. DH and I had some couscous cooked with tomato broth and butter that was lurking in the pantry. I really need to clean it out, but its one more thing right now! Waiting for GF meat delivery. Thinking of hamburgers in Bibb lettuce and Siobhan's parsnip fries tomorrow.

                            • A down day sucks, but sounds like you made it through reasonably well. Yes, no doubt the stress of stuff is a major factor here. Perhaps the day off will lead to more motivation for homework tomorrow.

                              • Thanks Greensprout. I'm looking forward to cooking my GF meat. There was a pork belly in there - score! I've been wanting to do a crispy pork belly. Slept poorly, again. I canceled my Skype stats call - I've done nothing, so have zero to contribute. I've got a conference call meeting that I'm secretary for this afternoon. I'm thinking a nap prior as a reward, if I work on some stats. I think I will also provide feedback on the capstone paper my DNP student sent me this weekend. I still feel blah, but I'm trying. I need to get out and get some more sun - hope the clouds go away. Maybe a short walk with the pups. I have plans anyway!
