    • Slept better and actually feel less blah - maybe I was trying to come down with something and I needed the rest to kick it? Was feeling overwhelmed last night after organizing my assignments for this semester and thinking of what I still have to accomplish work wise, but I did not over indulge in wine. . It's going to be a rough semester, but chunk by chunk, I will survive and get stuff done. More leftovers today, a sweet potato, Brussels sprouts. Use up a potato for DS. More organization chores today. I don't think I will leave the house. I try and lump all errands together. Still working on my goals for next year. I want them to be meaningful, manageable, and accomplishable. They are not resolutions, but rather personal goals that I can evaluate throughout the year and check off as met this time next year. Okay, enough rambling, time to get moving.

      • I have no doubt that whatever you set your mind to, you will do. FWIW, I've decided to give up alcohol for awhile. I feel like it has become a crutch for me and I drank too much over the holidays. I looked at the returnable container full of wine bottles and got sober pretty quickly! I'm going to stay alcohol-free through January and then will assess how I feel.

        • Thanks Siobhan. The goal I'm thinking about the hardest is the wine. I know I can abstain - went a year once without any alcohol, but think I want to go with a definition of moderation and clear guidelines. I've got a bit more reading to do before it crystallizes in my head. I am going to start a paper journal - there are just some things you don't want or need floating around in cyberspace!

          • So true. I keep trying to keep a paper journal, but I like the electronic one too much. The occasional feedback keeps me motivated. I suppose the best solution is a combination of both. There is a lot of stuff that is best kept off the internet!

            • I agree with the feedback, so will try both. I didn't sleep last night - 3 hours only. Feel blah still or again - I really think I'm fighting something off, just have not gotten overt symptoms (upset tummy off and on, cough, fatigue). Today I rested again. Made beef shanks in the slow cooker and put the whole thing in the fridge - didn't sound good to me (I'm doing modified BRAT - it's working the best), DS went out, and DH is at work. Tomorrow I need to clean out the frige and scrub it down - DH will help. Then I will get cleaned up and run a few errands. I also need to do some school reading and course question prep. The new semester officially starts Wednesday. Got my final paper grade in - 4 As this last semester for class grades. I work the clinic Wednesday and Thursday this week and Monday thru Thursday next week. I leave town next Friday. I hope I kick whatever this is - I'm resting and taking vitamins. Send positive thoughts.

              • Slept 11 hours, slight sore throat, and still feel a bit blah. Will clean fridge today - DH said he would help. Put off errands until later this week after evaluating their need as not urgent. Will do some homework reading (3 chapters on research) and make my list of questions, possibly write out my script for the required screencast introducing myself to the teacher. I watched some required YouTube videos yesterday. I've almost got my goals done. I'm thinking 1 activity, 1 eating, 1 drinking, 1 relaxation, and 1 mental. I want them succinct, doable, and easy to remember. Happy New Year to all. Be safe if you are out - there are a lot of "crazy" drivers out tonight.

                  1. LCHF (carb 30, protein 50, fat 120) - track with my fitness pal
                  2. Limit alcohol (4 oz wine is a serving; <10/week)
                  3. 5,000+ steps/day - track with Striiv
                  4. Sleep 8+ hours/night
                  5. Quiet Time 5+ minutes/day (no electronics, no book, just breathing and thoughts)

                  • Slept 8 hours in bits and pieces (DH snoring and his phone kept vibrating - which he slept through).
                    Weight up to 171.2, waist 36, bust 45. I'm officially going LCHF and decreasing the wine. I had my 5 minutes of quiet time and have on my Striiv and am working on my 5000+ steps goal. This afternoon I'm paying bills, cleaning up my desk and organizing for the next semester, then some homework. The new semester starts tomorrow and I'm in the clinic (it will be busy as we've been closed since 12/22). Here's wishing everyone a great 2013 and achievement of their goals.

                        • Slept right at 8 hours. Did 5 minutes of quiet time before I got up. Ready for clinic, drinking my second cup of coffee with HWC, but this one has a T of CO. Not hungry for breakfast - stuck a hard boiled egg into my bag just in case. Leftover chicken thigh and cauliflower for lunch. There's a fat bomb for the afternoon. Dinner will be a pork sausage from my meat delivery, leftover cauliflower, romaine, cherry tomato, blue cheese crumbles, and balsamic vinegar. With a fat bomb for later, if needed. I plug everything into my fitness pal to make sure I'm good for the day. This weekend, I'm ging to try and figure out how to make bullet proof coffee a cup at a time......

                          • Ate clean and within my macros. Had two drinks. Crazy day at the clinic. So I'm within my goals today 2/2. I do have a carb flu headache.

                            • Slept great - 9 hours, did my QT. dressed for clinic, lunch packed, drinking second cup of coffee, this one with CO. Headache is gone - hope it stays that way. It sucked yesterday at the clinic with screaming kiddos. Hope it's not too crazy today.

                              • Didn't get home until 8 last night. Clinic was crazy! Had a conference call for school. Broiled some eggplant slices with garlic and had that and leftovers for dinner. Still on track with all goals day 3/3. Slept my 8, QT for 5, getting ready for coffee before dental appointment at 10. Today I'm making spaghetti sauce with meat that I will have with eggplant for dinner. Lots of homework, organizing, bill paying to do today. Did make time for a nap this afternoon - still have an off and on headache and hope that will help.
