  • Yes, I've heard that. There isn't much difference between NP and MD is there? Just the ability to prescribe narcotics? Do you have to work under the supervision of an MD or can you work independently?

    • Unfortunately Texas is one of the most restrictive states, but many have independent practice including narcotic prescription. I have a collaborating MD at the clinic, but at the military hospital I'm independent.

      • I guess every state has its own rules, huh?

        So........... I'm up due to loudly snoring husband -- and aching legs. I think I may have overdone it a bit on the walking today. I'm trying to condition myself to be able to walk an hour, but each time I push it I suffer at night. I've rubbed down my lower body with peppermint lotion -- it feels really good and always relaxes the muscles and stops the pain. But - now I'm up, and I'm hungry - and that cheesecake is calling to me. I can't give in cuz thats SUGAR - and I'm swearing off sugar!!! I think I'll have to munch on some almond butter. Since its after midnight - the calories will count for Wednesday.

        Hope you're sleeping soundly tonight.

        • I got a straight 7 1/2 hours of sleep in without waking up. catching up on my students and journals, then will take girls for a walk with DH. Mine was a bit snory last night too, but I managed to get to sleep despite the noise (actually I accidentally kicked his legs and he rolled over ). Going to put some slow cooker chili on when I get back from walking, laundry, bill paying, grocery store, then I get my long awaited spa afternoon. Home in time for trick-or-treaters.

          • Yeah for a good nights sleep! Mine was not so good. I'm feeling a bit sluggish today. Have a wonderful day! Sounds like it will be filled with lots of good things!

            btw -- 182.4 this morning. back down to my lowest recorded primal weight (3 weeks ago). I'm diving in deep this week and hope to see a number under 180 next Wednesday.

                • Unfortunately not many trick-or-treaters, since that means I've got candy left over. Chili was good - froze two containers for later. Made the cheese bread - had 3 mini ones. I need to find a high protein/fat, low carb quick snack to keep available. I've been tracking and I'm consistently low on protein, moderate on fat, low on carbs.

                    Up 1 lb. , but that's better than my usual bounce back. . I need to consistently drop 1 lb. a week to reach goal by my birthday. I'm guessing I will stall along the way and may not hit the magic number in time, but I'm going to do my best.
                    i ate 2 almond joys and a Reese's peanut butter cup last night on top of the 3 cheese breads....... And a cordial of coffee vodka. What I really wanted was a glass of wine, but none in the house. Would I have eaten the candy if I'd had what I really wanted? So carbs were high yesterday.

                    New day - coffee with coconut cream. I've got to write a paper today, so it's priority. I will wear my Striiv and work on stairs and steps off and on. I hope to finish in time to go to Target - more walking. Leftovers for dinner. Maybe a spinach and cheese omelet for lunch. Will up date my progress later.

                    • I find the best thing to do with "junk" that is tempting me is to send it to work with hubby. Its gets it out the house and becomes his problem! course, he doesn't see it as a problem at all since he's not primal unless he's eating my cooking.

                      don't sweat the one pound - it'll drop again. I have made a challenge for myself to see how many days I can go without sugar, grains, or alcohol -- want to join me? I'm only on day 4.

                        Sugar and grains okay. I'm going to allow myself wine now and then!

                              • Ran into a snag with paper - I need a couple of articles I won't be able to pull up until I'm on campus Monday. So, tried to grade - system down. Outlined next paper and will start it tomorrow. Need to pay bills, so will do today.
