  • Thanks Goldie. I will hit up the local Smiths and get some veggies and Greek yogurt. The hard part of sitting in class 9 hours a day is the need for snacks to stay awake! I usually pack gluten free bars as an emergency back up. Where I stay has hard boiled eggs, so maybe I will pick up some meat to microwave (only heat source).

Slept great, even though I had more than 2 squares of dark chocolate. DH brought me coffee in bed! I'm down 1.4 lbs from last Sunday, which is great, but I'm still loosing and gaining in the same 160 range. I'm ready to move on down. I know that means exercise, so I'm going to try and get over my aversion to it.

DH works today, so when he leaves I will move to the family room and do my quiz. I guess I should explain that the thermostat is being replaced in the front of the house where my office is, so it is quite warm. Therefore, I've been staying in our bedroom and DH took over the family room. I can't study with his action movies/shows on. I just don't do blood and guts well. (at least on tv).

It's supposed to be cloudy and high 60s this evening at sun down, so am planning a walk then. Hopefully it won't rain. I will make chicken hash for dinner and set out stuff for slow cooker chili for tomorrow. Maybe Brussels today and kale tomorrow.

    • Productive day - paid bills, organized office (school stuff), took stats quiz (made a 90 ), made chicken hash, and graded growth and development projects. Getting ready to take Latte and Juliet for a walk.

      Walk completed!

      • Do you like walking? I swear by it. It is the best single exercise you can do, and a great fat burner. *climbs off hobbyhorse*

          • Started the chili before going to bed. Slept great. Woke to wonderful smells. DH can pack some for his dinner. Reading and a 1-page synopsis of an article are on the agenda for today. Might run some errands this afternoon. Hopefully another evening walk.

Trying to convince the boys to eat this way! I'm craving very thin crust pizza - it's the crunch of the crust I want. Any suggestions anyone?

                • Okay, this is a horrible, horrible suggestion. Will probably get me blacklisted. BUT...you can buy those gluten-free crusts that are made of rice and potatoes. We're talking just once in a while here. Like once every six months. In my humble experience, it is the only thing that really is like pizza. I've tried meatzas (crust made with chicken), zucchini, spaghetti squash. They are good, but not crunchy. Well, to be honest I thought the meatza was garbage. Hopefully someone will come up with something better. I missed pizza horribly for the first two months, but luckily I got over it.

                  • Most of the time, I could care less about pizza - but occasionally the crust calls to me. I used to love bread (and butter), waffles (and butter), toast (and you guessed it - butter) and I've easily given up all of that (well not the butter ). Pizza and sometimes a toasted English muffin (crisp and chewy at the same time) raise their ugly head - I think it's the mouth feel.

                    • Pizza used to be my favorite food! Thin crust, very little sauce --- lots of meat and cheese! and CRISPY! I haven't had a bite of pizza in a year! I only miss it when I smell it. We were Friday night pizza eaters - every friday without fail. I'm glad to be out of that habit. I'm sure it contributed to my weight problem.

I've heard something about making a cauliflower crust? but that wouldn't cut it for me ---- pizza needs to have that yeasty tasting bread or it just isn't pizza.

                      • I have a pretty good cheat version using tapioca flour. You can put cheese right in it (it's a variation of Brazilian cheese bread), which is kind of neat. It's not good leftover, I've found though.

                        • I confess I had 4 slices of very thin pizza (I'm going to call it my 20% and get over it). It didn't taste nearly as good as I thought it would! Going to clinic today. Hope it's not crazy. Once I got to sleep last night/this morning, I slept well, but I got 4.5 hours total. Lots of primal leftovers in refrig for dinner tonight. I know the pizza will be gone when I get home.
