      • Met with boss this morning. Gave her thank you card. Spent the day avoiding my research proposal - put together course that starts a week from Monday, printed stuff, and fooled around with another course. Had yogurt and banana for lunch. Went down to nurse's day celebration - didn't eat (everything had gluten) and didn't drink. Back to hotel. Dinner at fav place - steak with chilies, onion, and green pepper, salad, baked potato, and Malbec.

        0700 meeting tomorrow and I'm covering for faculty who's sitting in ED with daughter for probable concussion. Long day. Not sure what I'll do for dinner - Mexican Mother's Day, so packed eating out.

        • Slept almost 7 hours with it split just about evenly between deep and light sleep. Had to rush this morning to get ready. Met with my PhD chair at 0700. Then had to fill in for a faculty at the new student orientation. Worked on pharmacology class - all quizzes are done. Ended the orientation with a one on one chat with the PNP students. Now I'm getting ready to go back to the hotel and decide what to do for dinner.

          • Had the ultimate comfort food - nachos (corn tortilla chips), ate all the sour cream, chicken, and guacamole. Considering I had nothing substantial (banana, apple slices, and insides of a small sub) until dinner, I'm guessing it's okay. Had Chardonnay with. Hoping I sleep better tonight.

            • Slept for 10 hours with 4 1/2 of that deep. Feel pretty good. Drinking coffee and enjoying a slow start. DH sent flowers for Mother's Day and officially adopted Shilo for me (we've become very attached). Heard from son 2 who lives with us. Son 4 is taking me out to dinner Tuesday.

              Wind and dust today, so will stay in. May hit the treadmill. I'm trying to do some activity daily, so I get into the habit. I'd love to get over the weight hump and start toward my goal.

                • Up because I was stupid and ate a cookie and a brownie. My own fault. Hope I can get another couple of hours of sleep in before I have to get moving. Note to self - you sleep poorly when you have more than a glass of wine and you wake up when you eat sugar/gluten.

                  • So true, I have learned that lesson the hard way myself! (And I'll probably have to learn it again.) Good thing is that we always get another day.

                    • Ended up getting almost 7 hours of sleep. Surprisingly 4 1/2 hours were deep. Showered and hair washed. Doing some air dry while drinking coffee and catching up. Feel kind of blah today - the bad eating rears it's ugly head again!

                      Today I've got a meeting with an adjunct faculty I'm teaching with this summer. Then I'm going to spend some quality time on my proposal. Hope to work on a presentation for one of my summer classes. Couple of phone calls to round out my day. Thinking of picking up some gluten free PF Changs for dinner.

                      Yes I'm glad Shilo was my Mother's Day gift. Hubby didn't want another dog, but I just couldn't let him go to someone else.

                      • I think I've had a breakthrough on my dissertation - waiting for a phone call from Director of Research to run it by him and make sure. I've finished working on my DNP class this summer. I redid the schedule for research A & B. I killed an entire forest of trees printing more articles for my dissertation. So far today I've had a greek yogurt, coffee, vanilla latte (I know, I know), and some cheese. Heavy on dairy as that is what I had in fridge to grab this morning.

                            Version 3.0 - Describe your experience as a woman in a transition living center in a border city. The YWCA has a transitional living center for women that provides job training, helps get services, and works on esteem. I will do interviews.

                            • Up at 0430. This time probably because of stuff on my mind and being in a hotel. Drinking water. Caught up on emails and posts. Will read a chapter or two and go back to sleep.

                              • Didn't get back to sleep. 6 1/4 hours with 3 3/4 light and deep 2 1/2. Today I've got working on the undergrad research class on my calendar. I need some feedback from the other faculty teaching, so am a bit stuck. May just have to plow forward! Anyway, it means a slow start today. Dinner with youngest and his GF for Mother's Day.
