        Supposed to be 76 this Saturday. Then cooling to upper 50s. Yes, I will be in town.

        • Woke up about 330 - after 5 hours. Up for almost 2 hours now getting ready to sleep again. Dogs have been out and are now all sleeping on my bed. I've added a fur throw to my usual sheet and light cotton bedspread. More later.

          • Another 4 hours sleep. Light drizzle here and cold. Put roast, onion, and mushrooms in slowcooker with broth. Having a cuppa earl grey. Glad I planned on staying in today! I will do the bills, balance the checkbook, and then work on my re-write.

            • Lazy day yesterday. Odds and ends accomplished. Roast was good for dinner. Slept mostly thru the night, woke up, but didn't get up. It's 30 with a wind chill of 24 today. Roads are a mess. Rescheduled my car service appointment. Thinking about moving my hair appointment. That would mean today would be a major homework day. I'm making a fish stew tonight.

              • Moved my hair appointment to Friday. Spent approximately 3 hours writing for school. Just need to work on 3 short sections tomorrow to finish the re-write. Then I've got a grant proposal to do and I've got to re-do my presentation. I'm sending re-write to my chair tomorrow. Possibly the new presentation, too. Warmed up nicely this afternoon. Have the sauce (onion, garlic, nutmeg, s&p, thyme, t. Paste, diced tomato, and kale) simmering on the stove. Just need to season fish and put in sauce to cook. Thinking about cauliflower mash with.

                • Did not sleep well. Was deeply asleep when DH's alarm went off at midnight. I had to wake him up and it took forever to turn it off. 15 minutes later off it went again after much fumbling he unplugged it. He uses his phone, so no idea why that one went off. Slept until about 3 then woke up. Up for an hour reading then down again until 730 when he came in to shower. Got up a bit past 8. Do not feel rested at all. I've got a pork loin with pepperchinis in the slow cooker. Will serve it with salad and roasted broccoli. After I finish my tea, I will clean up and get ready to start my day. I plan on finishing re-writes and work on presentation today. DH works until 8 tonight, so no interruptions. Still cold today. I'm more than done with this!

                  • Finished re-writes. Sent off to chair for comments. Took a 2 hour nap. Pork smells yummy.

                        • Slept okay until DH got up for work at 4. Tossed and turned, but got back to sleep for another 3 hours. Dogs fed. Having a chai tea. Relaxing for a bit then working on research proposal. Putting chicken with kalamata olives and lemon in slow cooker a bit later. Have a massage early afternoon and a hair appointment afterwards.

                          • Grant proposal done and submitted. Dinner sides cooked and cooling to be put in fridge for DH to heat up. My hair appointment will end late.

                            • Well, you inspired me to make a gremolata-type sauce of capers, kalamata olives, lemon juice, and garlic to eat with the chicken leftover from yesterday. Delicious!

                                The brineness from the olives and the lemon together were pretty spectacular.
