  • Finally fell asleep after midnight - cough was bad. Home from clinic again. Resting, pushing fluids, getting ready to take a nap. The only thing I've got to do is pack.

    • Short nap, then zipped self into an XXSmall surgical garment. Can't believe I've gone from an XL to this since Labor Day.

            Not sure about the bravery - good pain meds! I've gotten some new clothes, but am holding off on too many for a couple of reasons. First I don't know if I will need to dress differently if I get a different position and second I'm still rearranging inches. I hope to take off some more pounds (upper back, upper arms, thighs).

            • Woke up about 0100 and have been up since - well except for the 2 hour nap on the airplane. I got in safely, got checked into the hotel and unpacked. Have had a productive day so far. One more meeting at 8pm tonight and then back to the hotel to crash and burn. Up early tomorrow to teach. Sunday - nothing planned except dinner with the boys. I will catch up on rest then.

                • Back at hotel. 2300 which is 0000 my time. An almost 24 hour day and I'm feeling okay. Feet up. Catching up. Alarm set. Having a glass of Chardonnay. Hope I sleep well.

                  • Slept fair. Up for good at 0545. Coffee, catching up, a spot of grading. Getting ready to get moving - want to hit breakfast as soon as they open. Then off to teach!

                      • Crashed for 2 hours yesterday afternoon. Graded some more. Dinner was salad, ribeye, baked potato, Malbec. Slept fair until someone's child was running up and down the hall screatching at 0700. Got up finished grading and finished the new curriculum for the dual program I want to offer. Went to breakfast a bit after 9 and had an omlet, bacon, and more potato - got to slow down on them, but am in ketosis anyway, so they can't be too bad. Coffee and water completed the meal. Packed up some strawberries and fresh pineapple to go with the Greek yogurt I picked up. Put them in the mini-fridge for a snack later on. I'm meeting the oldest and youngest for dinner tonight. Need to go out and get tights for tomorrow's outfit and look for a new bra. Still need to work on some homework and I hear a nap calling me.

                        • Didn't eat yogurt or fruit. Finished homework and sent off to partner for review. Youngest picked me up for dinner. Went to PF Chang's and ate off of gluten free menu, no rice, drank lots of water. Relaxing, before going to sleep. Long day tomorrow.

                          • Slept okay. Up, getting ready. A bit down today - feedback on a paper from instructor, enough said. Planning on eating some breakfast, taking fruit and yogurt for lunch, and probably eating at hotel tonight. Attending a friends dissertation defense this morning and meeting with co-director this afternoon. Before I finish for the day, I need to spend some time doing research for my proposal. I will pack tonight, so I don't have to rush in the morning.

                            I've decided to not drink until Thanksgiving. Not saying I will then, just that I will give myself permission then. Also going to work harder on eating better. Watch out better for sneaky grains and sugars. I also ordered the same workout book as Siobhan. So hope to be able to report daily on my progress - I need the accountability.

                            • Let me know how you do with the book. I chose that one because, as I said, it seemed the most likely one that I would stay with. (Very bad grammar, hope you can decipher)

                              • Fail on wine today. Ate clean. Long day. Stressful day. Will pack in morning. Didn't even gas up car today. Just wanted to get back to my room and relax!
