    • I continue to be amazed at how you cook so much great food and work on your degree AND teach AND do clinical practice AND take care of your home and family. I am such a slacker compared to you!

      I've got to get back into the macro counting habit - it is the best way to make sure you are on the right track IMHO.

      • I plan everything out color coded on my calendar. Much easier on the iPad then on paper - which I did when the boys were growing up.

        Just got email that Rodney's WBC count is up from 0 to normal. Looks like the issue was a side effect of medications. He's supposed to get out of the dog hospital in the morning. Hope to get him soon.

        • What do you use on the iPad to colour code everything?
          I'm not saying lets kill all the stupid people in the world, I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem take care of itself.

            • Slept good. Up early. Making dogs wait an hour for food - they are on old time still. Have pedicure and facial scheduled today. Assorted odds and ends to complete.

              • Facial and pedicure were very relaxing. Stuffed eggplant turned out very tasty. Leftover filling for lunch tomorrow. A bit of homework. Some student issues. Clinic tomorrow for the first time since surgery Labor Day. Putting osso bucco in the slow cooker before leaving for work.

                • Slept great. Up at 0630. Have the osso bucco in the slow cooker. Drinking coffee. Contemplating scrambled eggs with peppers, onion, and cheese. Need to put on scrubs, put hair in a pony tail, and slap on some makeup. Better feed the dogs, too.

                  • I have come to the conclusion you are making this up. Osso bucco? I've only heard of it in recipe books. Pedidoc you are making the rest of us look totally inadequate. My poor children had sausages and baked potato for dinner tonight. When I read your journal I feel I should hand myself in to social services! Lol. I must up my game!

                    • Two words - slow cooker! I put everything in before work and when I got home I sautéed Swiss chard and spinach with garlic and a splash of vinegar.

                      If it makes you feel better we are having sausages, homemade FF, and a roasted beet and feta salad tomorrow.

                      I saw 31 patients (out of the 47 who came to the clinic today). All charts done and ready to bill. Supervised a PA student - his last day. He thanked me, said he could tell I love teaching and have much to share.

                      Fell off the pastry wagon today - ate a donut - didn't even taste good.

                      • Slept like the dead. Still groggy. Need to get moving, as I've got bills and homework on the to do list today. Friday, DH and I drive to San Antonio to spend the weekend with friends. Down time for me - no homework!

                          Breakfast was 2 eggs scrambled with red bell pepper, onion, and cheese. Coffee with cream x 2.
                          Getting ready to go by bank, drop a pkg off to return, swing by moms and give her flu shot to her and then off to a massage.

                          • Massage was fantastic. I had knots on top of knots. All gone now.
                            Natural grass-fed sausage was very tasty. DH made Homemade FF - yes I ate about a potato's worth. Beet salad was very good.
                            Need to pack my lunch. Then I'm thinking I will soak in the jacuzzi.

                            • Slept great. Usual start to the morning. Will be putting a chuck roast and assorted veggies in the slow cooker before I go to the clinic. Tomorrow after I pack and have a Skype meeting, DH and I drive over to San Antonio to spend the weekend visiting with friends. No homework!

                              • Roast was meh. Dudes still scarfed it down. Saw 21 this morning in 2 1/2 hours. Only 4 in the afternoon. Will pack tomorrow. Just a weekend trip to visit friends.
