      • Slept great last night. Didn't hear DS leave and barely heard DH leave at 0400. Drinking coffee. Picking up Rodney a shadow schnauzer we will foster. I'll post a picture - his markings are gorgeous and he's an 8 pound snuggler. Dinner will be tomato basil soup. After I get Rodney, I'm working on homework and then having a Skype call with my study partner.

        I almost hate to say this out loud, but a local university is hiring my specialty for faculty. I'm putting in an applications. My mentor thinks I've got a great chance, but all positive thoughts received gratefully.

              • I'm guessing we had <50 kids at the door tonight, of course it rained all day and only stopped a few hours before I expected them. Turned in 2 papers that I owed from post-op days and posted part 2 of our team curriculum. We got zero feedback on part 1, so we are going with it was so good, there was nothing to comment on. I also sent a revised paper off to my dissertation chair for feedback. Started work on part 3 of the team project and sent it off to my partner for review. All in all, a very productive day.

                • That was indeed a very productive day. Do you enjoy the academic side as much as the clinical side? I don't think I could do all that paperwork you do. I've had a scheme of work hanging over me since May and I just can't face it.
                  I'm not saying lets kill all the stupid people in the world, I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem take care of itself.

                  • Most of the paperwork is because I'm in school. I won't say I enjoy being in school, it's a bit of a chore at this point. Now once I pass my comprehensive exams and start my research, I will enjoy. Teaching I love - so that part of academics is great. Clinical has good days and bad days.

                    • Slept really good again. Still a bit tired. Doing laundry, coffee, catch up. Dropping the girls to be groomed on my way to get a massage. Homework this afternoon/evening. Need to polish up my CV. I received my background check form yesterday afternoon, filled it out, signed, scanned, and emailed back. I figure they will ask for CV next.

                      • No massage. Major issues with son 3. Spent most of the day dealing with the aftermath. Worked on CV some. Got paper that is due Monday outlined. Responded to the other team's post. All in all a truly cruddy day!

                          • Thanks Greensprout. I slept okay until 0500. Now up because I can't get the fact he's messing up his life out of my brain. He's 22, so not like I have control over what he does, but it affects everyone. I love him, but I do not like the person he is today or e choices he is making.

                            • Picked up veggie box. Planned meals based on what was in freezer and box. Grocery store for some odds and ends. Didn't get foster schnauzer. He's anemic and in the dog hospital because he was running a fever and not eating. Dinner was flank steak, baked potato, and roasted celery root and carrots (both from box). Tomorrow I'm doing chile, lime, cilantro wing drummies.

                              • Slept okay. Weight up - not surprised as wine has been prominently featured nightly since DS3 issue. Started tracking again today. Waist down 1/2 inch from last week. Working on about equal fat and protein with low carbs. Will put chicken wing drummies in slowcooker about 1130 for 4 hours on low, then crisp under broiler. FF for boys (and I figured in 3 oz for me). I will finish up leftover celery root and carrots. I'm making cream cheese clouds for me and a pear (big bag in box yesterday) crisp for the dudes. I've got 2 pomegranate to use and some apples. I've got a defrost bowl of meat ala Nom Nom Paleo going in the fridge. Tomorrow I plan on stuffed eggplant and zucchini. I've got Swiss chard, spinach, kale, and shallots to use also. While "we" watch the football game, I will finish up the paper I've got due tomorrow.
