  • Sitting in a very nice hotel in Austin waiting for my room to be ready. Left home early, so DH could get me to airport, home, workout, and get to work on time. Penalty is my room isn't ready, but waiting here is better than waiting at the airport. Once I get unpacked and put on something a bit more casual, I'm going to explore.

    • I travel casual.......... those seats are uncomfortable enough! tight or binding cloths just make me irritable on an airplane! How long will be you be in Austin? And what will you be doing there? You seem to have many facets to your life and I'm struggling to keep up! You teach......... you "student"............. you "heal"............. which hat are you wearing for this trip?
      1. Love ME no matter what noises are screaming at me, or who is trying to tear me down.
      2. Eat to heal
      3. Move to live
      4. Embrace today
      5. Live with intention
      6. Respect my body
      7. Cultivate joy
      8. Find my passion

      • It is the Texas Nurse Practitioner annual meeting - so faculty and provider roles. I leave Sunday. I wanted to have a suit jacket and didn't want to cram it in the suitcase, so I wore is and sandles with 1 inch heels. Comfortable to me is putting on my Life is Good t-shirt and bare feet with the jeans I wore.

        • Don't you love those t-shirts? Funny how something like a t-shirt can be so comforting. Life is Good really understands how to make a t-shirt that looks good on a woman and feels great too. I will admit I often wear them to work under a scrub jacket. We can get away with that here in the backside of nowhere - even the doctors do it.

            • They really should! I'll bet they would make really nice, good quality, good-fitting scrubs.

              There is a Life is Good store in my little village - open in the summer only. I am salivating over some of their clothes - a fuzzy hoodie, a t-shirt with an owl (love owls), a purple skirt. Don't need any of these things!

                • I bought one of those Life is Good t-shirts that looked already "worn". So comfy! About a week after that, hubby said, "That shirt looks pretty worn out, shouldn't you get a new one?"

                  • With the shifting of my body (I actually have a waist), I've been shopping more for clothes. I don't always wear them right away since at home I'm in yoga pants and t-shirts all the time. When DH sees me in something new, he asks, "is that new?" and of course I say, "no dear, it's been in my closet."

                    • Dinner last night was a pear and blue cheese salad with grilled chicken. This morning scrambled eggs, sausage, and cheese. I really think I'm going to have to go no wine for 30 days and see what happens to the weight. I've done it before (no alcohol for a year), so I know I can, I just need to find a substitute. Right now that glass of wine signals to me that it's time to relax - the work day is done.

                        • Eggs and sausage with cheese for breakfast. Coffee with cream. Dynamic speaker this morning. Break out sessions were okay. I've just gone thru round 14 & 15 of the on going minutes revision battle and I'm not sure how to get thru to this person. Ironically she is a communications major, but she is not listening to what I am saying. She is determined to do it her way and knowing nothing about nursing it's not correct. I've given up on the email battle and will try in person next week.

                          • Dinner was salad, bland chicken, 3 asparagus spears, piece of pepper - but typical of a seated dinner. Was up last night, as usual. Need to get moving this morning or will miss the first presentation. Seated lunch - not looking forward to it.

                            • Home again home again jig giddy jog!! Easy morning complete with room service, two hours of lectures, packing, and flying home. Juliet and Latte are very happy to see me. Have gone thru the mail, set out two chickens to cook tomorrow, and need to unpack. Gave my mother Practical Paleo to read. We shall see. DH and DS left a grocery list on the table for me: frozen pizza, hot pockets, chips, saltine and ritz crackers. So not sure how to tell them it's not going to happen. Maybe I can just avoid it?

                                My hubby and I came to the agreement that is he wants any of that stuff, he'll have to buy it himself. 98% of the time he can't be bothered.
                                Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.
