  • Scored yogurt, almond milk, cashews, and water at the store. Oh and a bag of blue corn tortilla chips for DH. Went to dinner with 2 sons first night. Ate okay, not great - fried clams (oil & breading, but a craving occasionally), salad, baked potato, and 3 glasses wine . Slept restlessly, but did get good deep sleep.

    Yesterday I did a zillion paperwork type tasks in the office. DS1 who works there gave me a ride back to hotel, as DH was across town visiting his parents. Dinner at BBQ place with three families of good friends and our kids and their SOs for a group of 18 for DH birthday. A great time was had by all. We closed the place down. Ate better yesterday eggs, sausage, coffee for breakfast. Meat, cole slaw, potato salad, a couple of bites of beans, and a glass of wine for dinner. Resisted the homemade bread with honey butter, which used to be my favorite.

    Slept okay last night. Bed is smaller than we are used to, so lots of synchronized turning and jostling each other awake. more light then deep, but I couldn't get comfortable, so got up.

    Meetings this afternoon. Some paperwork and office organization this morning. Unsure what dinner will be. Maybe steak at my favorite place.

    • Dinner last night was salad, prime rib, and baked potato with Malbec.

      Slept 9+ hours light>deep. Did better than the night before.

      Feel sluggish today. Canceled the recruitment dinner - just don't want to go. Need to run some errands and probably do some work in my office. It's almost organized. Then will do dinner with DH.

      • Being very lazy today. Sent DH to go visit his parents and went back to bed. Took a nice nap. Feel more rested now. Lounging around waiting for DH to come back so we can do some odds and ends.

        • End of week was crazy. Sleeping about 8 hours but light>deep (can't wait to get to my own bed!).

          Thursday: new student orientation, meetings, yogurt, banana, coffee, potato skins, wine

          Friday: faculty meetings, yogurt, banana, coffee, nachos, wine, a couple of bites of a French toast and bacon cupcake

          Today: taught class, built bookshelves, worked on computer, yogurt, leftovers, water, having dinner at my favorite place with friends.

              Nope, just doing what needs to be done! I totally vegged Wednesday and tomorrow it's in-law day and hopefully a nap....

                    Thursday pedicure and facial
                    Friday Steely Dan concert with friends from San Antonio in The Woodlands (using hotel points for 2 nights for DH and me)
                    Saturday chill
                    Sunday move stuff to counters so I can reach after surgery
                    Monday make homemade gelatin and primal crackers, thaw bone broth
                    Tuesday surgery starts 0800.

                    • I like your plans for the next few days. I was going to suggest making bone broth, but of course, you have things well in hand .

                      Can't remember, is it day surgery or do you have to overnight?

                      • 23 hour stay. They are estimating 7 hours of surgery.

                        • Slept 6+ hours with light>deep. Up drinking coffee, catching up. Threw some stew meat with typical Mexican food spices (garlic, chili, paprika, salt, pepper, oregano, cumin) into slow cooker and set or 10 hours on low. Will pick up stuff for taco salad at store to complete dinner.

                            • Started vitamin C 500 mg at surgeons request. Now I've got "Tomi" tummy. Supposed to take 1000 a day prior to surgery. Will try another 250 tonight and see what happens.

                                Okay..... I hate it - but that term is pretty cute!
