Quite happy to have a recovery day today Yesterday, I did a workout of all 1RPM maxes.
    Squat: 155 lbs, single, yay!
OHP: no dice, but got 70 to the top of the head instead of the chin level. Then trained push-press with 65 lbs
DL: Finally pulled 205 lbs, even with the wee shruggie in the end.

The stitches & bandages came off, so tomorrow I am going to give a shot to wearing barefoot for KB's, which is great, because I feel so much better balanced that way. And next week, it's back to running, if everything feels good.

On the food front, I am missing fruit intently... SAD.

June 1st: Kettlebells + Shoulder HIT
June 2nd: Elliptical (35 min, HIT on 30:35:40); gardening
June 3rd: Powerlifting + 3x21 support; play and gardening
June 4th: elliptical (35 min) + walking (~ 90 min) - Yes, I do have a fracture in my toe, I could def. feel it after elliptical. Oh, and fishing, lol!
June 5th: lifting (CRAPPY!) and ~ 45 min walking
June 6th: walking (~ 90 min) and a mini-stretch (meditated most of the time, I was so tired)
    June 7th: walking (~ 60 min) and mini-gardening
    (Edited by Leida)
    June 8th: KB's & walking (~ 45 min)
June 9th: Elliptical (35 min, HIT on 30:35:40); gardening
    June 10th: Lifting
June 11th: Elliptical (35 min, HIT on 30:35:40); walking
    (Edited by Leida)
June 12th: Lifting + 3 + hours hard gardening (mowing, edging, HOT!)

Nice day yesterday. Kiddo looked at the salad, and asked: can we have salmon salad? Apparently i impressed her with the leftover salmon salad. Then she devoured the roast chicken like a champ, raving about it. That's a Happy Meal for you!

Woke up to 1.5 lbs gain this morning. Boo. Hoping it is some kind of a water retention from a combo of sauerkraut, half a boiled potato, 'hidden' TOM and workout bulge. If it is an insidious creeping gain from subtly eating a touch too much, I will have to start counting calories next week. Will see what's up in the next few days, official weigh in is of course tomorrow. Oh, well.

Very tired this morning, particularly low body, so I am going to skip light cardio I planned and just do parallel bar work, some new assist work (learn some new moves with cables + chest flies + push-ups) and a stretch. Could be that my lack of stretching is catching up.

I decided to try Wendler's 5,3,1 program for the next 4 weeks before going to my vacations. I integrated some of my KB moves into my support, and going to do a swings & snatches drop down sets as one of my cardio sessions. Did my first Wendler workout on Sunday, and got some good DOMS this morning.

Kira asked to go to Zumba, so I am taking recovery day today, and will do Zumba with her on Wed night. Almost recovered my toe enough to start sprinting again. Maybe even on Friday? Yay!

Weight bounced back to 121.1 lbs, but not to the 122 point that is my cut off when I start counting calories again.

On the eating front, everything was going well enough, though I sampled some of the chocolate custard that I made for Father's day and that refused to be turned into ice-cream, so we called it a pudding! Unfortunately, I ate something foul on Sunday (or just ate too much watermelon?) and got nasty sick. So, going to do broth today, maybe some juice for supper, unless I feel up to solid food. I will be baking a lovely sockeye, so I hope I am up for solid food. See, nothing good comes from eating fruit!

June 1st: Kettlebells + Shoulder HIT

Could not take solid food yesterday, as soon as I had a few pieces of boiled turkey I was putting away I felt a bit sick. So I drunk broth and had nuts, nut butter and coconut oil. After a consideration, decided to start counting calories again.

Today's bench press day proved to be tougher than I expected. I had been trying out the weights on the DB lifts I did not do for a while, so I put in a few extra light sets till I found good weight for inclined dumbell press. DB press - I needed heavier weight than I expected from my experience with the barbell inclined press. But the one-handed row - I had to go lighter than I expected from the BBR. I think that's because 1 armed row is an isolation move. Still owe myself a walk and 5 sets of push-ups So, 22.5 lbs for press and 35 lbs (or maybe 37.5 lbs) on the rows.

I am going to try sprints tomorrow. I will know if I can do it while I will do a warm up run.

Calorie count update: A wee bit too high on carbs, fats and cals yesterday (should have skipped dipping spoon into almond butter jar, yeah) but not horrid. Even managed a stretch yesterday. GOOD!

And, some gratifying DOMS in the pecs.

Today I am very determined to try to run again. If barefoots hurt, I will start with a jog in traditional shoes. It might be better anyway instead of jumping into a sprint off the bat after 2 weeks' break.

Yesterday had a totally awesome deadlifting, and the coolest back tiredness gone away thing ever. I woke up with tired back (not hurt, not sore, just worked, you know). Then I deadlifted, and then i was doing hanging leg raises, and I guess because of the whole hanging and contracting through the core portion, it just... was good as new. Hlaf way through.

Also, I don't know why, but I am still gaining, despite being pretty good. So, nuts are OUT. Did not buy almond butter when went shopping yesterday. Will start trying to fast Mon, Wed, Fri till lunch.

Also, seeing I purged myself off fruit, I am going to try Anabolic Diet again. I now learned to eat fatty meats, no pro, can throw in eggs for lunch and coconut oil, and meat for supper with a few slices of vegg. Plus, with Wendler, i will be lifting both Saturday and Sunday, so the carb-up on Saturday and normal food on Sunday will be just great.

The BEST weekend in a long time for me! I did ran sprints on Friday, and let me tell ya, I CRAWLED home and was completely out of it by night. In fact I was so tired, I wasn't able to fall asleep. It is a really, really powerful workout.

Then, I had 2 absolutely smashing sessions in the gym, got the push-press move dialed, 70 lbs went up like nothing. 3 times, singles, WEE! My support cleverly incorporates KB exercises, so I think am in heaven! I am also back in the stm rm, pool. LIFE IS GOOD!

We had Kira's recital, but I forgot the building pass so had to double home, made short runs for it, and I managed to make it back like 5 min before her performance. SO HAPPY!

We also used up 2 gift cards Eric and I got simultaneously for Starbucks, so I had granola from the yogurt and whey in my shake, plus a biscotti next morning. Cheater! But it did not result in any serious binges.

Anyway, after doing a little bit of research, I am going to try a kind of a Body Building cutting protocol, with 180 g protein daily, under 30 g carbs on the weekdays, and carb-ups on Sat/Sun to coincide with my 2 heavy workouts. Then, the last week before I go to Russia, I am going to get fat out all together, and have heaps of steamed vegetables and steamed 0-fat proteins (white fish & egg whites). Hopefully that will put me into a good shape for the home-coming.

Not good on eating front. Got depressed about life while trying to read JM's book, and blew up the perfect plan to smithereens. 500 cals overdraft, which means I will have to cut down intake to 1000 cals a day for the next 4 days to comp. The only right thing was fat %.

                  Stupid.

Good day yesterday. Only did 60 push-ups, but loaded back-pack on the way home with additional 3 L of milk and jar of sauerkraut & it was cold and rainy, so cold exposure should have helped. Figure should have totaled about 20 lbs of load. Whatever it was, 3 lbs of bloat gone today. Now, just need to keep steady for the rest of the week.

(Wave) Thank you! I love my current routine very much I am not looking amazing, but I am improving, which is the main thing.

Yesterday: I swear, going to 6:10 pm Family Zumba is the hardest thing i do in a week (I get up at 3:45 am), but it is worth it, because it gives so much joy to my daughter. I stopped fixating on the workout, and instead we dance together, and having a blast. I love it when other class participants smile at our 'moves'. Went a bit higher on calories, firstly because I ate at the all-day course, and couldn't resist extra olives, and secondly because I made short ribs, and my body-building resolve lost out in the boiled red snapper vs ribs choice! Plus, with Zumba, I figured, eating a bit more might stave off a binge.

I felt absolutely no hunger after 8 am breakky of egg whites and 1 egg till about 1 pm, but was ravenous from 3 pm on after a lunch of cucumbers, celery and roast beef stripped off sandwiches (and olives, lol!)

June 1st: Kettlebells + Shoulder HIT
June 2nd: Elliptical (35 min, HIT on 30:35:40); gardening

                          Routine change note:

Inspired by Ferris (and my love of KB's!), and I replaced the pointless machine ham curls with 80 2-handed swings (in 3 sets today) in my Deadlift day as a support. Now my goal is to get to a full set of 75 with 35# and then work on the drop sets till I can do 75 swings non-stop with 55 lbs.

I think I pretty much finalized my lifting routine, gonna post it once I finish this week, I think they are really, really good.

Okay, let's see what happened yesterday...

I absolutely LOVE my DL routine this morning; more so than yesterday. My lower body is asking me if really gonna try for sprints today. Well, my feet reminded it that we tried our Trecks on yesterday and they do not hurt our toe any more, so in all likelihood we'll be dancing with impatience to get out and fly by the time sprint time is upon us

In-laws came in yesterday, I think that alone gotta burn a few calories! Speaking of which, I can't get them down, but proteins are good. Still need to work on dropping fats, that will help calories.

June 1st: Kettlebells + Shoulder HIT
June 2nd: Elliptical (35 min, HIT on 30:35:40); gardening

Good eating over the long weekend (here, in Canada), but was unable to count calories. Did a controlled carb-up/binge as per 4 Hour Body, had some ice-cream and 3 chocolate candies as my junk food, lots of fruit. The other two days home, had a few berries, but literally, a few berries. Will try today.

I put legumes back into my food plan, and they are here to stay. I am not convinced that beans are detrimental to fat and weight loss. As for peanut butter, it is just as bad as almond butter, so since my folks like PB, that's what we are gonna have in the house, and I will limit it (doing pretty well with nuts lately, no problems).

Hard to update the log, all days blend together....

June 1st: Kettlebells + Shoulder HIT
