    Hey Dash, I've been mostly away too. I'm so impressed by your results. Keep it up!
    5'2", 55 years, Primal since April. Pre-Primal weight loss, from 216.6 to 157.8
    Primal low: 140.2 (Dec. 3) Goal weight: 135?
    Main Primal goal: beating back my CFS enough to function more normally and start writing again

      Dude! you're killing it professionally! Keep it up! And ignore the plateau it'll only make you stress and stay there. I suggest ditching the scale for a few weeks and just do what you'd normally paleo wise.

        Thanks man. That's exactly the plan.

        So an update.... Hadn't weighed in several days, but noticed I looked a little thinner, so thought "what the heck" and whipped out the scale today and....I FINALLY broke 300, coming in at 299.2. That's a first in 3 years. So it's some serious encouragement. The next big goal will be to get under 270, which hasn't happened in over a decade! Aiming for that by Halloween. Just keeping the course with my eating, and have introduced IF a couple days a week. Mostly by accident (oversleeping, or rushing in the morning), but maybe that is helping push through the plateau and the fact that I'm eating a ton of fruit carbs. If I can pull this off and say "never had to mess with calorie counting or worry about macronutrients" it will a hell of a thing. Not that I'm opposed, but it's a slippery slope for me into becoming numbers obsessed.

        Sleep is better (in bed by midnight every night) and while my activity has reduced a bit, still getting at least a walk in daily. Dragging my feet on doing strength training or introducing sprints. That's all for now. Cheers!

          Hey! Just to share a personal experience (and hoping not to come off too discouraging but moreso to be realistic) from my own experiences I lost the first 30 in 40 days or so and the next 30 took another 5 months to achieve. Just sharing in hopes to keep your expectations realistic. The first load of weight is often just bloating and extra shit our bodies hold onto. You'll likely see a decline in the speed of your loss. I'm at just under 8 months at about 77lbs off if that helps at all in speed. I too also started at just over 330.

                Hi again. Thanks all for the encouragement.

                Ecks.. you're spot on with the setting proper expectations. I'm still losing, though more slowly. Didn't see much change for about 2.5 weeks, then weighed myself and down 5 more pounds to 294. So that's pretty sweet. Though I might have put that back on this last week. Have been much looser with my eating, including multiple servings of grains and sugars. We had a bunch of social stuff at the house, so I thought.. "alright, let me try not being picky and just joining in whatever is provided." I definitely feel fluffier than a week ago. Also after a couple glasses of sweet limeade, I crashed like I had just run a marathon. ugh. Then chili w/ beans last night - crazy bloated this morning, Maybe that's why I feel fluffy. ha. But regardless, yes. thank you for the reminder of things slowing down and not to get to tied to a consistent freefall of weight.

                Things are generally going well. Sleep schedule has been much better, still in bed every night by midnight-ish. Hoping to move that up to around 11 over the couple weeks. Still dragging my feet with strength training, which is going to be critical for getting through the upcoming plateau, especially with it getting colder and less outdoor activity.

                I'm somewhat in a groove/rut. The eating I have down, even if I knowingly choose to eat less than optimally. It's the other stuff that is now going to be a challenge... better sleep patter, more consistent IF, and strength training. Will be a better update when I hit the 3 month mark September 1.

Have in the back of your mind that you want to IF and then let your body choose the day. It's dangerous to IF though if you are consuming the amount of sugars and grains that you are consuming. IFing is only effective if you are ketogetic.

                    haha. True. I've definitely been letting my body decide. By more consistent I guess I mean there are days where it's 10am, I haven't eaten, and my schedule doesn't permit me to eat until noon or 1, but I decide to have go ahead and break fast with some fruit and nuts. Ideally, I could just not have those and be fine. So I just want to be more conscious about it.

                    Not doing any IF this week. Taking a break until I've had a few days back on full Primal. Thanks for looking out for me.

                    • Always have your back buddy! As a sidebar if it helps at all in staying ketogetic- if you are getting to the point where you need to eat in the morning what I used to do was put a couple packs of jerky in my desk as a backup if I was hungry in the morning and a couple lara bars if I had already broken fast with protien/fat. Then at least you have quick and easy foods on hand to go with the type of day you are having (hungry vs quick energy)

                      • HELLOOOOO (Said in my best Mrs. Doubtfire voice)

                        Well, it's been almost 3 months and after the 55 lbs originally lost, I gained 15 back. Mostly from going totally off the rails. So here I am once again, staring into the holiday season and winter with a bit of dread. So hoping that over the next few weeks I can turn this baby around again, drop the 15 and set myself up for a solid winter.

                        The Plan. Essentially the same as before, focusing on the next 40 days which will take me through the holidays. Eating Primal, doing my bodyweight exercises 3x a week, and maintaining a solid sleep schedule.

                        Spending time on the forum was helpful and posting daily updates was definitely helpful, so that will begin again. Also look forward to reconnecting.

                            • Day 01 - 20.Nov.12

                              It's good to be back. Day 1 went well, though I'm dreading carb flu, which hit me hard first time. I'm already starting to feel a bit headachey, so have decided to preemptively incorporate some fruit juices and dried fruit the first week or two, which helped with the transition last time.

                              Found out this morning there is a 5lb discrepancy between weighing myself in the basement or in the upstairs bathroom, using the same scale. Which is weird because both have hard, level floors. Since historically I've weighed in the bathroom, I'm sticking with that. Though it does have me wondering... what is my real weight?

                              SLEEP
