No, not yet. It hadn't been posted yet when I did the rounds yesterday morning. It might have to wait - I've been procrastinating badly this morning - but I will get around to it later today.

    • I am not doing very well sticking to the leptin reset protocol. I'm not too surprised; I've never been too good at unnatural regimentation. I'm being good in a primal sense, just not following the reset rules too well. Still, I've been quite low-carb and avoided all sugars (except in carrots and beets) which is my primary goal for the short term, so I'm not too bummed out about it.

Made myself a pumpkin-spice latte this morning, with cream and stevia, and totally forgot to eat breakfast after that. You see what I mean? Eggs and coconut oil just don't motivate me to eat, I guess. Eggs are okay two, at most three times a week, and after that they start to repel me. And as I am trying to severely limit my dairy, my old trick of scrambling or adding cheese is not a good fall-back position. A few more days, and I'll go back to my normal way of eating - I feel all bent out of shape. But the results have been good, in that I'm playing with new lows again. My dream scenario is to drop another two or three pounds quickly and then go back to maintenance. We will see.

            • The best chocolate bar I ever had was a dark chocolate one containing finely ground coffee. So the brilliant idea occurred to me recently to emulate that with my Judg Fudg. I have a coffee grinder, and in colder weather there is enough static in freshly ground coffee that some of it will stick to the sides of the receptacle and refuse to pour out into my coffee-maker. But give it enough time, the static dissipates and a sharp rap on the receptacle will dislodge the stuff. I now pour that very finely ground coffee (because it's the finest stuff that sticks, of course) into my Judg Fudg while mixing it. *Bliss*

                • Feeling a little shaky this morning, for reasons unknown. Staying home. I'm bleaching out my kitchen compost container in case the mould is bothering me, but I kind of doubt it. Still, it can't hurt. I normally clean it frequently, but I'd been falling down on that.

I'm being quiet, eating well, seem to be better. I got dressed nicely anyway, just to keep morale up.

In testimony of the fact I'm eating well, I present to you lunch:

                        IMG_3085.jpg

Two lamburgers, and a veggie stir-fry: onion, purple carrot, broccoli stems, and bok choy in nothing more than butter. It was delicious. And filling.

I had a frittata this morning: two eggs, onion, mushrooms, and chopped cappicollo. With all that protein going on, I think I'll just have a salad with an avocado dressing this evening.

                        • Unscheduled seven-hour visit from DIL and wee ones today. I am now pretty much a zombie. But it was so much fun getting there. GS#1, who turned 3 yesterday sat in my lap and watched BBC's Planet Earth, absolutely transfixed. Lions and whales and bugs, does it get much better than that? GS#2 is making progress in his communications skills by leaps and bounds every time I see him. We are understanding each other so much more. So much fun. And the baby, 6 months, laughed and gurgled in my arms. Good day, all round.

I am eating fruit again. A banana smoothie this morning, blueberries for dessert this evening, and some raisins in between. Probably a bit too much of a good thing.

I made them a stir fry of cubed turkey, cauliflower, broccoli and a bit of tomato, with an avocado sauce. The kids loved the sauce. #2 practically ate an adult's helping.

                            • I'm pretty good at sticking to a concept, and a way of eating. But "eat this, in this amount, at this time" - well, I crumble rather quickly. "Eat what's good for you, when you're hungry, try not to eat too much" - that I can do.

Although today, ahem, I ate chocolate... Like, instead of a meal. I had bought some bittersweet bulk chocolate (just a couple of ounces, I think) to see if it was acceptable. It was not, in terms of sugar content. But I ate it all anyway... I was out and hungry and... Oh well.

On the upside, I just bought my first size Small piece of clothing. I'm kind of in a state of shock. And on the way home on the bus, one of my neighbours didn't recognize me. Obviously not one who knows me well.

And I figure if you didn't gain any weight over the last year, that is a major victory. Holding a position is an important part of this war. And it's not as if you desperately need to lose it.
