  • This morning I got home after a quite busy and stressful night at work and felt really hungry - no wonder since it had been quite a while since I had eaten - ate two raspberries and the hunger vanished. Weird. Unfortunately, I woke up four hours later REALLY hungry but much too tired to get up to prepare and eat some food. So the rest of my sleep was rather broken and tonight I am tired, tired. This is a lesson I had learned before but forgot. Still, I really didn't feel like eating this morning, tummy was just slightly upset, probably stress. Right now I am quite hungry but have no will to go get my food from the refrigerator and eat it.

        • Well, I took your advice and ate my sausage and cabbage followed by raspberries. I do feel better but I'm not 100% tonight. My back is a little sore and I am really tired. Can't wait for this night to be over!

              • Got very busy at work and didn't have time to eat, so I came home this morning with a powerful hunger. Cooked and ate a huge fat-heavy meal - 70% fat! 18% protein, 11% carb. Two uncured hot dogs, cabbage, cheese, an egg, butter (of course) all cooked up together - it was like something from heaven. Also a wedge of cantaloupe. Lots of water. Now I need to stay up for a while. Can't really jump into bed right after a 700-calorie meal, I'm sure the reflux would be quite an experience. I felt the need for a really satiating meal. Those uncured natural hot dogs from Applegate Farms are my favorite, my go-to meal when I really feel like eating. They are so beefy and they throw off the most delicious beefy fat when you pan-fry them, so good for cooking vegetables in.

I am going to get a really good day's sleep, I can tell.

                        • I think they are a good compromise between processed crap and something that will last in my refrigerator for quite a while. They don't have anything in them that I wouldn't put in myself - ingredients beef, spices, sea salt. No nitrates of course. I love the taste and they can go into just about everything - eggs, veg, on their own.

Have a primal pizza in the oven right now - zucchini, cottage cheese, and eggs make the crust, Muir Glen Organic Pizza Sauce, fresh basil, jack and cheddar on top. Smells divine. I have already had a big smoothie since waking up. Slept four hours like a rock. Back to work tonight, just this one night!

                            • Having kind of a primal binge day. Big breakfast, already mentioned, large smoothie, 1/3 of my primal pizza, an apple, melon. Am I forgetting something? Now it doesn't seem like that much. It was all so good, maybe it just seems like a lot.

Just went to paleotrack and logged it - 1568 calories with good macros. Maybe I am getting the hang of this. I feel like I must be forgetting something - trying to remember what dishes I washed!

                              • Ended up with 2100 calories for the day. Not too bad for a binge! Feel much better tonight that I did last night. I was bone-tired! Looking forward to a couple of days (nights) off.

This evening I saw a co-worker who has been out with an injury for 10 weeks. In response to her "You've lost weight" comment, I said, "A little." Usually people leave it at that, but she said, "More than a little! You're a wraith!" No one has ever called me a wraith before. For the record, I am not wraith-like, even at my goal weight I will not be wraith-like. I told her that I found out I was gluten-intolerant and stopped eating bread and grains and sugar. She seemed a bit interested. She has considerable weight to lose, and is often talking about it. Now that she has had a severe back injury maybe she will try again. Possibly a primal convert? I doubt it, she has too much pressure from other sources in her life - several very overweight sisters and close friends, also a husband who drinks a lot of beer. But I hope she does, she deserves better.
