  • I've never tried cod oil before, but it sounds smelly.. This text is really inspiring, it's great idea to focus on health in crazy times we live in.. We forget about ourselves and focus on TV, facebook.. Forgetting which things are really important is so often now..
I'm really glad to read that you are enjoying your life, those meditation group activities sound really very interesting!

    • I didn't get burps, I just smelled bad. Like B.O. I would wake up in the morning, throw the covers off and nearly gas myself out. And I felt like I had to change my clothes all of the time (I did). And when I would open the laundry hamper to take out the dirty clothes I would nearly bowl myself over. It had to stop.

      • Everyone needs to get their hands on John Durant's The Paleo Manifesto pronto. I got it today and I can hardly put it down. It is not a diet book. Not even a Paleo book. It's a super interesting history book. Like if history were taught by a super-hot instructor who made everything real and alive and put stuff in context instead of boring facts and dates.

          Thx, yet again, for recommending

          • I downloaded it and read it almost entirely on the plane ride back from SF.

It wasn't at all what I was expecting, but better! I am really enjoying it!

            • Siobhan, you are the devil!

I am TRYING not to spend extra money this month. Oh, well, drag out the list and add to it, I suppose. (Sipping peach and ginger booch as I type!)

                • I'm about halfway through The Paleo Manifesto and totally loving it. I actually can't believe how good it is. Durant is a first-time author! I can tell you that as soon as I finish it I'll be going back to the first page and reading it again. I'm glad I got it on Kindle so I can take it with me everywhere!

Had an ultra-fantastic day. Met up with a group of folks and took a boat out to an island owned by the local conservation group (I volunteer for them.) We hiked and looked at birds and identified plants and picked up trash and talked and laughed. Worked up a powerful hunger and ate every scrap of food I took for lunch! All of it primal of course. What a great time! On the way back the boat captain warned us that it was choppy and we would get wet and it might be a little rough! It was really fun and the water was so refreshing. After I got home I remembered that I used to get seasick and the chop and the waves would have slayed me back in the day. Not only was I totally fine, I didn't even think about seasickness or have any fear. Not sure why. This was a pretty small boat and we were in open ocean. I'm not afraid of the water but still I never was crazy about big swells or lots of spray. Maybe it was just because the day was so fun that it didn't occur to me to be uneasy, or that the trip home wouldn't be as fun as the rest of the day had been.

Came home, showered, and basically collapsed for awhile! Whew, I was tired. I've recovered now.

Breakfast before I left this morning was pork chops and an egg - the pork has improved while resting the fridge. Lunch was liverwurst, Tara bread, onion, mascarpone cheese, cashews, a banana, an apple, almond butter. Yeah, kinda carby.

                    • I think you have this: Magical Multipurpose Paleo & Primal Dough Recipe. I have only made the paleo version. It comes in pretty handy for a day like today, so I could eat a sandwich like everyone else and not seem weird. Except for the liverwurst, which they thought was bizarre. (I thought it was delicious.)
