  • Having a huge craving for some fish, like a nice piece of cod. Just plain, with some salt and pepper. Of course I'm at work and can't do anything about this! Maybe stop on the way home.

    • After reading PERFECT HEALTH DIET and adding in fruits, rice and sweet potatoes, I gained so much more energy and strength but no added pounds. My favorite rice is Lundberg organic basmati, so delicious. I rinse and soak it before cooking.

      • Well, I came home with mango, some of which went into my mouth and some of which went into kombucha, and some of which will accompany the lovely cod I also purchased. And Perfect Health Diet is on the way from ILL, I read it months ago and it made a lot of sense; in fact I started my supplements after reading it. I think that honestly the diet will always require tweaking depending on where I am hormonally, actively, job-wise, stress-wise.

I came home to find the sheetrock has crumbled terribly around the leak in the ceiling and I told my landlord. He didn't seem too concerned and didn't ask to see it. He mumbled something about trying to call the roofers - the roof is quite new. I've done my duty and luckily my own property wasn't damaged.

I'm good on booch consumption - my new batch will ready to drink tomorrow and I still have one jar left. Woot! In addition to mango, I brewed some Earl Grey and added it to the stuff I bottled today. I think it will be great.

Today is perfect weather-wise. The storm is a memory - a damp, howling memory. I have sat out on the balcony for about an hour total, making Vitamin D and pleasant memories. So happy it is September. I didn't have any trouble getting a parking spot at the post office and my mail box was full of catalogs - a sure sign of fall. I will admit to enjoying looking through catalogs - a lot!

        • Slept great last night, although I woke up to the pitter-patter of rain and had a moment of panic that water would start pouring through the ceiling again. It has been raining off and on but so far no leaking (fingers crossed). Of course this is not a violent storm of last weekend but rather a gentle shower.

Put a hunk of beef chuck in the slow cooker, probably will have a late lunch. Last night's dinner of cod with mango salsa was a winner - I felt really satisfied for the first time in awhile.

                          • Well, well. You know how a short time ago I reported my hot flashes had vanished and my libido returned? Something else has returned! Aunt Flo visited me last night! WTF? I thought I was done! I had wondered why I was unusually hungry and also had a couple of very small, superficial blemishes. Mystery solved. Can you believe it? Forever youthful, that's me.

Another weird thing - and this may be my imagination - my hair seems to be growing in not grey. I've been checking my roots, thinking it might be time for some highlights - the last time was the end of May - and I don't see any grey. My hair is not a particularly nice color anymore - my strawberry blond is long gone and now it can best be described as dishwater blonde - but it isn't grey. I don't get it. Am I imagining things?

I like my latest batch of kombucha and am happy with adding the raspberry tea after the fermentation. It has a nice raspberry flavor and a pretty color. I drank one jar, and decanted a couple of others into a Gerolsteiner bottle (25 oz.) to take to work.

Had a very large breakfast (for me) - three eggs scrambled with feta and chives and four slices of bacon.

Am looking at Le Creuset pans and lusting after a saucepan. http://www.amazon.com/Le-Creuset-Ena...sette+cookware They are wicked expensive but last forever. Now that I am using my cast iron pans almost exclusively, I have noted that Lodge does not make saucepans. And I'm not buying a Chinese made cast iron pan. My research shows they sometimes contain lead and they are not well made - they have rough edges and often rust regardless of care.

                            • The last time I saw someone so excited for their period is when an ex-girlfriend had a ... uhh.. longer than expected wait time between visits. Congrats returning to your youthful self!

Sidebar: that's MDA success story material there though I'm not sure you'd want to share your period with the primal world.
