I know......... I've kinda skirted the issue ............ they are pretty clueless. Their house looks like a bomb containing toys/clothes/food/dog hair and other misc garbage when off inside their house, and they don't seem to mind living that way -- honestly, it wouldn't do any good to try to talk to them cuz their kids have done this since the day they were born. I don't want to insult or hurt them at all --- I'd rather just love them and accept that they are okay with it in their home - but I don't want it in MY home.

Its just ONE day, right? I've survived before - I will survive again. But I'm dreading it......... ugh. Wish it was different so I didn't have to stress over it.

    • oh boy......... total calories came in at 1635 today - thanks to my almond butter binge. How can that creamy goodness be loaded with so many calories??? My macros look really good though with only 5% carbs! and 71% fat! thanks to the almond butter. Double edged sword there huh? Maybe I should have gone a bit easier on the pork ........ 10 oz. I was hungry. I think I will get out my Tae Bo DVD and see if I can work off some of those calories. Hubby is at bible study tonight and won't be home until 9 - so I have a couple hours to get sweaty and shower off!

      okay............ here I go.

          • Don't go slipping into the chronic cardio mistake. You'll just make yourself hungrier. The goal isn't to burn off calories, but to ramp up your metabolism and burn off fat.

            • I was careful not to push it to the point where I was breathing heavy - I was sweating, but not huffing and puffing. I don't think I really had my heart rate up that much. I certainly didn't go full force with it. But, you're right, I don't want to fall back into that old way of thinking. Tae Bo is a great way to build strength and tone, but doesn't have to be "cardio" unless you really go hard at it. Its controlled body movement and strength building by using you're own body weight - like round house kicks at 1/2 time. Thats why I like it - its not at all about just constantly moving fast to get the heart rate up. I'm not thrilled with this particular DVD - the people in the group are continuously counting and its annoying. I might see if I can find a different one.

So......... tomorrow is official weigh in. I'm worried. I don't want to see another flatline. But, all I can do is keep watching my intake - and keep moving!

and - right now its time to go for a walk. I have my doctors appt later this morning, and then work for a couple hours. Then I have some household duties to attend to. Its raining..... or what we Oregonians say is "oregon spit". So, umbrella time.

              Later gater...........

Edit: just checked the weather - we're supposed to have a break in the rain mid-afternoon, so I'm going to walk then. I think I should invest in a good rain jacket for this winter.

              • You might be interested in Tai Chi if what you want to do is tone and strengthen without the cardio aspect. Tai Chi is slow controlled movements - like yoga, but with kicks, punches, etc. I've seen a guy at our gym do it and it looks harder than hell! But he's RIPPED and seems very disciplined in his movements.

                  • work was only an hour today - just 2 patients to enter in the system. GRRR. I hate going in for such a short time.

Doc visit was good. I didn't have to have the complete exam cuz I had a pap last year, and I'm HPV negetive - so I don't need another pap until 2014! She was pleased that I had lost 20 pounds in the past year It seems a bit more exciting when you hear someone else say "you've lost 20 pounds in the past year! That's great!!!" So I'm feeling a little more positive about it all. But --- the next 50 pounds are coming off in the next 9 months.

Accuweather says there will be a break a in the rain for the next 2 hours - so I'm heading out for my walk. I will shoot for an hour today. But I won't go at the same pace as yesterday - at least not for the whole time. I wish I had an I-Pod so I could pace myself to music while I walk. I might have to invest in one of those. Course I'll have to be careful so I'm not singing outloud as I'm walking - I mean, I have a decent voice, but I don't want to embarrass myself!

                    here's hoping Accuweather is "accurate"

                    • I forgot to tell you that I had an HPV infection too. I had a colposcopy and it hurt like a biotch! But, my sister had to have a LEAP where they had to cut out 1/4 of her cervix, not just take a pinch of cells here and there like they did with me. It screwed up her delivery with her son b/c the scar tissue that developed prevented her cervix from dilating and the doctors had to "help it along" by massaging it and coaxing it. So glad that wasn't me, but even if it had been, my cervix never got past a 5 before they took me into c-section with Brady (Makenna was a planned repeat c-section).

ANYWAY... I guess they have a vaccine for it, but with all the hoopla around vaccines anymore I don't know if I want her getting even a flu shot!!

Hoping you get a break in the weather!!

                        • Just talked to the guy who's going to install our new front door and do a little trim work for us! I'm so excited! $660 for the door, about $50 in trim wood, $80 for a new door knob/lock, and $15 for stain and sealer - $400 labor. Around $1200 for a the whole thing! I've been wanting to do this since I moved in here! We're refinancing the house to get a 15 year mortgage and we don't have to make this month's payment! SCORE!

                          • I just opened the freezer to put in some bacon and spyed the cheesecake!!! Amazingly I wasn't even tempted -- I looked at it and said, "oh no....... you have NO power over me!" Gosh that feels good. I don't always have that kind of resolve - so I'm very much enjoying how it feels!

I'm on my second cup of green tea --- the first green tea chai, and the second Green Tea w/Pomegranate. I'm having a major caffeine buzz! Could be why I've posted so many times in the past hour..........

                              • 50 pounds in 9 months is a very ambitious goal. I know it's hard to be patient, but slower works even better, trust me. As long as you see continual progress (of course there are stalls involved, but overall), you're doing well.

Green tea with pomegranate is very nice, for sure.
