  • Good for you. If it works do it. Your making positive changes and thats whats really important.

I have had clients who havnt lost weight and I got them to eat MORE. It works. Something to think about for the future.

Well done you for getting stuck in with the hard graft, no wonder hubby was impressed. Next he'll come home to you wearing a tool belt and hammering up dry wall.

The LHT programme can be really simple. Check out my log to see how im structuring my week.

    • Oh I'm quite handy with power tools. I have a shop full of them - and yes - they are all mine! A drill press, a scroll saw, a chop saw, a table saw, a router table, a couple of table sanders --- and a miriad of hand held tools! I used to have a small garden art business......... go back in my journal and you will find some pics of the trellises I used to build (pre-economic crash). People would ask me at the garden shows "so does your husband build these?" .......... nope I do! I always got big pats on the back from the "older" gentlemen! I LOVE tools and building things! As for drywall....... been there done that too. My ex and I built a house together - we did most of it on our own. So I also know how to wire and do plumbing. I've put in an in ground sprinkle system too! This girl is no sissy!

      • I shocked my husband when we built our deck. I huffed the 20 foot boards to the compound miter saw and cut them myself while he did the easy job of screwing the deck boards down onto the platform. I love being a capable woman!

        • Ditto, Jenn! If I get tired of waiting on my hubby to do something I just do it myself. He came home from work yesterday and was amazed at my new concrete block flowerbed. At first he thought I had just added a layer on top - but I said "no, I took the whole thing apart and re-built it! Cuz it wasn't level and it drove me nuts!" He was impressed! Girlie-girls who are affraid to break a nail drive me nuts! Buck up buttercup!!!!

            • Thats PERFECT! and oh so true.

Lunch with my friend was great! we had 10 years of catching up to do - but we did it. 3 1/2 hours of talking at the restaraunt. Good thing we decided to do a 1:30 lunch - we weren't in anyones way. We decided to make this a regular thing. Hope we don't drop the ball.

Dinner tonight was step daughter #2's birthday celebration. Nothing big - drove the hour to her town and went to the same Indian place we always go to. It was nice cuz step daughter #1 wasn't there. We all had a good time. I ordered Tandoori Shrimp. 10 grilled shrimp with a yogurt based spicy sauce for dipping. The totally overcooked the shrimp and they were like eating a tough steak! Good flavor - but totally overcooked. So to get my numbers up I ate 2 ounces of almonds when I got home. Number are good with 10% carbs, 69% fats, and 23% proteins....... I know - thats 102%. I round up when recording my macros --- so if something says its 3.4 I always record it as 4. Sorta messes up the end result - but its not like I'm mixing something and need absolute measurements. Its close enough.......

              so total food today:
3 eggs fried in bacon fat
small ceasar salad with 3 oz salmon, grilled
10 small shrimp, grilled with 2 TB tandoori sauce
              2 oz. almonds

Its a good day in bedrock when I can eat out twice in one day and still feel good about what I ate! Looking forward to the scales in the morning.

Its going to be a long night.......... hubby was volunteered to deep pit a pork shoulder for nephews wedding "after" reception. So, he's out there right now stocking up the fire. He will put the meat in the pit at about 3 am. and it will come out at about 11 am. The party starts at 1 pm about 30 minutes away. This is for his nephew who got married down in california back in April. They wanted to have a reception up here for those who were not able to attend the wedding. No one is very excited about it........

How was the pig? It's a bummer that no one was excited for the party. Were they expecting gifts? I would have considered it kind of rude to expect gifts given they got married so long ago and so far away. It's like saying "you didn't come to my first reception nor did you give us a gift at that one, so we're hosting another party and you can bring your gift this time" kind of thing... I would be turned off by it and probably skip. lol

                    • what a great weekend! Saturday we went to the "after" reception for nephew and new bride. Fun times with family and friends! Food was the typical potluck spread. Lots of bread, rice, pastas and beans. I filled my plate with pork, turkey and fruits/veggies. I passed on the strawberry shortcake dessert and drank only water. Then the hubby and I packed some food and clothes and went to the lake for the night. We had only healthy food on board - except for the corn chips - I ate one. We did have a rum and diet coke. My first in a couple weeks.

I'm walking again. Just a mile a day for now. Feels good!

I'm liking this higher fat diet - I feel more satisfied and full. This morning 3 eggs fried in 1 TB butter. I'm stuffed.

I've been fighting the pH in our pond water all summer! The water is green we can hardly see the the fish! Normally we can see the rocks on the bottom and the water is pretty clean and clear. I've been told by a couple different pond supply stores that high pH is a huge problem with year. So today I'm doing a water exchange to see I can get things balanced out a bit more. I'm going to syphen off as much water as I possibly can without leaving the fish high and dry, do some cleaning of ick off the bottom and then fill her back up with tap water. Hopefully this will do the trick. For some reason over the winter we had a huge build up of organic material on the bottom -- I need to do some more studying to figure out how to keep this from happening again next spring. We haven't really been able to enjoy the pond this year because of the green murky water. Good thing it doesn't smell bad!

Son is dragging his feet on this home buying adventure and I'm going to have to talk to him about finding his own apartment until he's ready to make this move into home ownership. Time to leave the nest!!!

What, you hadn't been eating fats? I thought we were supposed to make sure we got enough.

                        • Hey! high five to YOU!

I've changed my macros a bit --- 10% carbs, 20% proteins and 70% fat. I've been reading this Start Here The Eating Academy | Peter Attia, M.D. The Eating Academy | Peter Attia, M.D. website. It makes sense. and it seems to be working for me. I lost 3 pounds last week. Its pretty easy to get that much fat with butter, almonds and fatty meats.

I've also completely cut dairy (excluding butter) from my diet. 2 weeks ago I threw out my lactaid pills (which didn't work 100% of the time anyway) so now I just can't eat dairy - period. I don't even have to make the choice.

I'm currently trying to syphen out my pond so I can put in fresh clean water.......... its a SLOW process! I have a 2200 gallon pond, and a VERY slow syphen going. I added second hose to hurry things along a bit. I don't want to syphen out so much that I need to rescue the fish though. Just enough to get the pH down.

                          • Well -- changing out 1/2 the pond water didn't seem to lower the pH. GRRR! I might have to go buy some stuff to add to the water. I added bacteria that is supposed to help - but it takes about 3-4 weeks to do its thing........ I'm so impatient!

Food yesterday was good. But I did eat about 3/4 cup refried beans at the mexican place. I had bacon wrapped shrimp! YUM! Probably fried in some crappy oil...... but it seemed to be the best option on the menu. Scale jumped back up to 187 --- dang it. Might be the salty mexican food? Thats okay --- it will go down again. I should go back to only weighing once a week. Daily is frustrating!

I woke up this morning with a couple water blisters on my lip............ its not a cold sore, just a couple water blisters. Very odd.

I should go for a walk before I have to go get ready for work.

scattered thoughts........... not a good sign.

Later: sheesh...... I forgot to post this. I've been to work and shopping already!

We nailed down our vacation plans! This Feb. we are just going to take the 5th wheel to the coast. We'll stay a couple different places that we've been looking at for a while. NEXT Feb. we are going to Hawaii! That gives me a year to get healthy and thin! I like having something to shoot for. Last time I lost 50 pounds I was preparing for a 2 week vacation that included a 1 week cruise. Its a good incentive! So --- if I want to wear a bathing suit in Hawaii I had better get down to my goal weight - and tone up! I have 50ish pounds to lose and a bunch of toning to work on.

I have another blood test next to week to see how my thyroid is doing. I hope she increases my dose just one more time.

Hey Judg - if you're reading this --- thanks for the meatball idea! I'm making that for dinner tonight. Can you believe I've never made meatballs! I'm chopping up some onions and peppers and will throw in some other spices...... maybe I should find a good recipe?

It seems that maybe those little water blisters on my lip are actually a cold sore! dang it! I haven't had a cold sore in years! wonder what triggered it?

                            • Weight is still stuck at 187. After calculating what I ate on Monday I can understand why -- 2240 calories! I guess that bacon wrapped shrimp was more calories than I planned for. Plus the refried beans..... Oh well. It was enjoyable - I'll just chalk it up to a little deviation in the plan.

I was looking over my work hours yesterday - as meager as they are - and I realized that I haven't missed one day of work this month! Thats a first! So, my bowel issues are causing less troubles in my live these days! Hopefully a sign of the increased thyroid function thanks to the Armour.

I'm heading out for a walk. Not taking Zeus today --- his hips couldn't take the mile yesterday. Poor guy.......... he wants to go so bad! Have a good day all!
