    • Thanks, Pedidoc!

Honeybuns, I'll see if hubby will try something new then. I think he likes the sweetness the brown sugar gives it - there is a bit of a glaze after its done smoking. But I'm going to do some research and see if I can find a good alternative to his normal brine. He gets a mix from Mountain............ something. We buy it at BiMart. He brines for 24 hours, then lets its dry on racks with brown sugar sprinkled all over it - then puts the racks in the smoker for something like 6 or 8 hours with Alder chips.

Good thing you're keeping the family secret!

      • A little late, but...good job on saying 'no' to the rum and coke.

And I am SO wanting to start jump rope. You and Honeybuns have inspired me. But I need to find some kind of industrial strength bra first.

        • Tomi, would he be willing to do half of the salmon in the brown sugar brine (for himself) and half of it in the salt bring (for you)?

Yup - the bra is a must!!!! I found a pretty sturdy sports bra and bought it SNUG. Its a bugger getting on and off but it holds things in place nicely!

that's what I'm hoping but I don't know............... He's an all or nothing kind of guy so I will have to bend his mind a bit to get him to try it.

              • I made this for dinner last night :

It turned out so good!!!! I omitted the raisins - yuck! Hubby loved it - and there is plenty of left overs! I'm all about left overs!

                Yesterdays eats:

                1 egg in olive oil
2 oz cashews (I weighed them this time)
                5 oz of cantaloupe (estimation)
                kombucha (strawberry)
                2" end slice of meatloaf
1 cup smashed cauliflower w/butter (no milk)
                grapes

                MFP says = 1232 calories

                I did a little Jumprope - only 90
and some leg presses at 90#

                Weight = 183

I have to admit that I'm a little disheartened by the scale going back up by 3 pounds, but it is what it is. I'm staying 100% primal and that is my focus for now. Healthy eating and continue to MOVE. The fat will start to melt eventually - right?

                • The scale going back up just shows that there is something your body reacted to. No biggie and it will go back down.
Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.

                      • I'm thinking adding carbs back into the mix is the cause for the weight going up on the scale. I'm not sweating it. When I flex my biceps in the mirror I am quite impressed - and when I look at the changes in my legs I am quite pleased - so right now I don't really care too much about the number on the scale cuz I'm building muscle and I'm shedding fat as I go. The cellulite is disappearing - although there is still plenty there! My back has visibly less fat! I'd much rather be building muscle (and gaining weight as a result) than just simply losing fat and having no muscle tone when I'm done. I know the fat will go away as the muscle requires more fuel.

I'm still a size 14 jeans but I'm pretty comfortably into my L tops. The progress is WAY slower than I would prefer - but at least its progress. I've been hanging in the low 180's for almost a year now. Seems to be my pattern to hang a long time and then drop 10 pounds. I'm really hoping to see a drop soon!!!!! Maybe I need to shake up the movement a bit. I think I'll dig out my bike and go for a ride this morning.
