  • today - I did 62 of the double hop jump ropes --- 2 hops to 1 revolution of the rope (its how I learned as a child) - then 24 regular 1 jump to one revolution. 12 minutes of Barre3 core/lower body. 15 pull downs with 30# on the bowflex.

    This is 4 days in a row with no breaks in the workouts!

    Feeling good..........

                • Okay kids.......... keep it clean!

                  Was up BEFORE the chickens this morning. I'm not usually - okay - basically NEVER up before 7 am. Today I was awake at 4 am - hubby left for work at 4:45 and I was up at 5:30. Its now 8:30 and I have cleaned the bathroom, replaced the toilet seat with the new one, ran 2 loads of laundry, vacuumed the entire house, carpet cleaned some bad spots, washed some windows, dusted the bedroom, watered all the pots on the patio, taken out the trash, made breakfast............. and now am reading journals. We're having company for dinner so I will need to do a little shopping, mow the grass and prepare the food.

                  weight and work out report: 185 (-3) With today's movement a total of 5 days (Monday - Friday)

                  Beginning of this week 188, was a HIGH from too much bad food and drink over the past 2 weeks. Today I'm feeling much better - after just 3 days of eating CLEAN! I have tons of energy, a clear head, and NO abdominal bloat. I did my work out Monday - Thursday - haven't done it yet today. But planning to when breakfast settles. I might just get out the bike and go for a nice ride this morning.

                  Gut issues............ diarrhea Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Hoping to NOT have that issue today. I just ate 3 eggs and 2 bacon slices so I will know within 2 hours.

                  Yesterday I did a little research on diarrhea and obesity. It seems there is some connection between the two - they just haven't figured it out yet.

                  • Tomi, my thoughts on diarrhea and obesity are this-- With the rapid transit of food the body does not have time to absorb the nutrients contained in the food. This leaves the body starving so it holds on to fat/drives what nutrients it gets into fat cells for survival and may ramp up the need to eat more in an attempt to get the nutrients it needs.

                      • workout for the day: Complete house clean - including some spot carpet cleaning (with machine). 2 loads of laundry, fresh linens on the bed. 4 set of 20 speed jumps. Chased down the dog who was trying to escape the yard (I actually RAN)!!! Mow grass, rake flowerbeds. Grocery shopping. Cooking for company.

                        THIS GIRL IS ON FIRE!!!!! (I love that song)

                        End of it all I get to relax on the patio with hubby and friends and enjoy a nice bbq and a fire!

                          • It might not be your cup of tea, but Gary Taubes book Why We Get Fat and What to do about it explains in detail how we can be starving our bodies of nutrients and yet still be fat. It changed my life, to be honest. Calories, carbs, insulin, fat - it is way more complicated than you would imagine. Oh yeah, throw in some hormones.

                            • Maybe I will try to find those........ just for information sake - but I could use a life changer too!

                              I'm making a blackberry cobble bar for dessert tonight. I found it on facebook. It looks pretty good - and I don't like blackberries - so SCORE! Hubby and our dinner guests can have it - sure hope its good. There is a ton of sugar in it! 1.5 cups in the cake part - and 2 cups on the berries part! makes my teeth chatter just thinking of all the sweet...... eesh.

                              Okay here's the menu.

                              Our guest are bringing a tuna loin to throw on the bbq. I'm making grilled shrimp/pineapple skewers for appetizers. With the tuna we'll have a mango salsa, roasted zucchini, and bread. Then the cobbler thing for dessert, with ice cream. I'll be eating lots of skewers and tuna w/mango salsa.
