    B: 5 pcs bacon, 2 fried eggs
    S: pork rinds
L: Sausage, some macadamia nuts, salad, cherries in coconut, and homemade dressing.
S: Cashews with butter, then some more pork rinds (I don't even know why I ate really)
D: Scallop Piccata with steamed carrots
S: I call them snacks because I was nibbling while trying to get this recipe down. Probably about 8 dates, including whatever was in the small date ball things I made. I ate one to test it out, lol. I made a cherry version of it using fresh cherries (much messier!) and tried one of those out too.
Drinks: For some odd reason, I had some of Gabi's organic chocolate milk. Coconut water and regular water.

Exercise: 10 minute trainer cardio. Going to take the dog out for a walk here in a few.

Today was a much better day at work! I felt like I got quite a bit accomplished for a change. It felt like a regular work day. I've got one more snack to make for tomorrow night's small group, which are sausage date rolls (wrapped in bacon, yum). I'll make those tomorrow. Tonight, my goal is to get into bed just a little earlier. Then I can get up earlier and walk the dog a little longer.

      • Oh, oops! It's the 6th and I haven't posted for a few days. I don't think I can remember what I had from Tues till today, so I'll start with Wednesday and see what happens. We had a busy day clothes shopping on the 4th, since I had the day off and the money to take Gabi to get some new clothes. We went to the local ball game that night. I went off ship that day, as far as eating goes, but I don't have ice cream often to begin with. Plus, I don't know if Itty Bitty's are actual ice cream. Who knows, right?

        4th
B: Leftover breakfast egg houses (those things are effing AWESOME!)
L: Jason's Deli Chicago club, no bread, with some fruit, aoli sauce, and I mindlessly ate a few of Gabi's chips
D: Pork bbq sandwich with no bread. Had some of mom's chocolate dusted almonds (little diva, she sneaked them into the ball park!), Itty Bitty's Cookie Dough ice cream things. I had a few sips of Gabi's root beer.
I know I'm missing food in here somewhere, but I can't remember what it is. Exercise was walking the dog.

        5th
        B: 6 pcs bacon
S: small avocado & a mix of berries, chopped walnuts and pecans
L: Salad with chicken and ham, homemade dressing, pistachios
S: Uhm, I don't remember, but I know I had something when I came home!
D: Grilled fish, grilled green and red bell pepper
        Drinks: Water
Exercise: Walked the dog at one of the local parks. She's still tugging, but it's getting better. She's teaching me patience I didn't think I had!

        Today
B: 6 pcs bacon (got a strange look from one of the store managers when I asked for a medium paper cup for my cooked bacon. She's not the one who usually gets my stuff when I go in there on Fridays. HEY, focus on the bacon lady!)
S: Oh, went overboard with the cashews. Might have to just buy those in small amounts from now on. They are so yummy! Mixed berries with chopped walnuts and pecans, 1 small avocado
L: Salad with chicken and 2 hard boiled eggs, homemade dressing. 4 squares Lindt 85%
        S: sour cream!
D: 1 1/2 burgers from blue sky, no bun. Bacon, again. Salad with salsa vinegrette. Had about probably 15 fries from there. I ate mindlessly again.
Drinks: Unsweetened Iced Tea and water. Oh yeah, coconut water!
Exercise? 25 push ups, 1 minute plank, 45 boat pose. Haven't been the one walking the dog today.

Ecks, I didn't make the date roll things because we only had a few people available for class that night. So, we went and listened to some free music in the park.

        • Today
B: Three egg omellette with mushrooms, bacon, and avocado. Some sausage
S: Lindt 85% & 90%, like 8 pcs total. I know, sort of went nuts. Oh, had a tootsie roll after breakfast. Not sure why.
L: We had breakfast late, so it was really brunch.
D: The OUTSTANDING kebab's mark had posted on his home page. Oh dear goodness those things are tasty! Grilled them up along with some sweet taters, poolside
Drinks: water, sweet and unsweetened tea, coconut water, and my first ever tbsp of Kefir
Exercise: Walked the dog at one of the bigger parks, played in the pool for a little bit, then night walk with Gabi and Roxy.

            • Oh no, it just says on the bottle that's all I need. I'm just starting out though

OMGOSH stupid dryer situation. I'm one month, in an apt complex, without a properly operating dryer. I don't say it's inop because it does actually turn on, it just doesn't heat. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and try to clean the vent tubing using this vent cleaning kit that I bought today. Great idea in theory, not so great when the brush gets stuck in the vent tubing. I know what you're thinking, just slide your hand in there and get it. Not so much when you have one 90 degree elbow, then about a 4 foot drop before the next 90 degree elbow that takes the rest of the tubing to the outside. If I don't get the brush out tonight, I'm going to talk with the apt office in the morning. According to them, they only have two maintenance workers, so they are behind. Okay, I was understanding of this at first and was patient, but a month has gone by, so I'm pretty ticked. I've got a clothes line hanging outside on my back porch and I've been using it. Normally, I'm a good resident, but this is enough to make a renter agitated.

              Today
              Breakfast: two egg houses
L: Oh, I had corn tortilla chips at lunch, AGAIN! I did ask them to make my guacamole in front of me so I knew what was going into the dip. Had some steak fajitas with the Baja blend of veggies. Good stuff
              S: Uhm, Coconut Secret bar
D: Mom's Pork piccata, steamed carrots, and zuch with onions. Mom made some brownies using homemade beet juice and cherry puree. Sooooooo good topped with fruit!
Drinks: One cup sweetened tea, the rest was water and a little coconut water.

              • I haven't been on here in a little bit. I stopped for a little bit because I found I was being a little harsh on myself, even when not posting. I became a little obsessed, so I wanted to calm down a little bit. I've decided to start a leptin reset and see how this works. Phew! Eating all that protein in the morning is hard sometimes. I'm up pretty early in the mornings during the week. Having Roxy, our new family member, is keeping me busy in the evenings. Also, this week brought the start of Crossfit on ramp classes for Gabi and me. She's getting her butt kicked a little bit, but she's hanging in there with it.

When the end of the day comes, I'll post my food stuff and what not. I'm not even going to try to account for my lost time on here. The best things that's been happening lately is that some people that I don't see very often at work have commented on the weight loss. It's kind of reassuring to hear that right now.

                  • Thanks Sabine Ecks, those bacon date rolls were a hit when I finally got to make them. Since I'm not supposed to be snacking, it's probably going to be a while before I make them again. Also, you can make date rolls with cherries instead of dates. Sooooo dang good!

                    Yesterday
                    B: 6 pcs bacon, 3 fried eggs
L: BWW's Chicken Ceasar Salad (ick, not doing that ever again)
D: RIBS! Glorious RIBS! And chopped brisket, some broccoli, a bit of coleslaw, and I split a slice of cheesecake with Gabi. Yeap, I know, not Primal. I haven't had cheesecake in FOREVER...... Or at least until the last time I made it.

Gabi and I went to see the newest Madea movie and laughed so hard that we almost cried! Tyler Perry puts out some good movies. We went to the bookstore to grab the next book for book club, Souless. It's a fun little read so far. I just recently finished The Soliders Story. I HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone. I'm thinking of using it as my book club pick. It's between that and Declaration by William Hodges. I've got the category of Nonfiction, but I don't want to do a biography because that's also a category. Declaration has been interesting so far.

We bought Roxy some new little puzzle treat toys today. She likes the ball, but she did figure out the little pie with the sliding pieces on it.

Crossfit on ramp was good this morning! DEAD LIFTS! Get it son! Phew! Gabi's not only learning good form right now, she's learning to push herself. I'm loving it. She also discovered that I've ruined Denny's pancakes for her. She uses her own little mix, on top of Pamela's Gluten-Free pancake/waffle mix. She likes to add fruit and whatever else to hers. Denny's just didn't cut it, nor did their little pancake hush puppies. Poor kid, she kind of looked a little mad at me when I explained to her that she probably won't crave those again. Score one for me!

                        • I did. I keep forgetting to update. So, I'm still trying the leptin reset deal. I goofed up a bit this morning because I thought I had more time before my Crossfit on ramp class. Breakfast still tasted pretty awesome

I think maybe I should keep a paper journal so I can keep track on here. The not snacking thing has been doing me some good at work. I can skip my first break if need be, but I usually read or do crosswords.

The Crossfit On Ramp classes have been fun so far! This morning was my last one. When I got there, some of the coaches, male ones, were shirtless and doing some of their own workout before the gym was opened for regular classes. Yep, found my motivation! Jeeze, the muscles on these guys! However, that was 50% of my motivation. The other 50% was seeing one of my female coaches hanging in there with the guys. Now that is just plain old kick ass!

I'm singing the National Anthem at the local roller derby game tonight! It's time for me to get dinner started

                          • How neat that you are singing the anthem! I can't sing, nevertheless, that is one thing I would love to do, as a fantasy. I would do all four verses, 'cause I am an anthem geek.

                            • Man, I am really struggling to keep this up to date lately! Lol, it's not that I don't have the time. I play on the net in the evenings. I wonder what's really going on here.

While I've been trying reset my leptin, it's not working in the aspect that I have a hard time not working out. Part of that is due to the fact that I dedicated money to start Crossfit and I don't like the idea of paying for it and not using it. The class has been good for me so far. So, giving up the exercising isn't going to happen. I'm only going three times a week and I plan to keep it that way. I do like the eating almost as soon as I get up part and making time to be mindful in the morning. The mindful part for me is time in meditation with God before I take off for the day. What I will take away from it is that I need to not snack (unless I have good reason to). Eating all that protein in the morning is definitely making it easier for me to not snack until it's lunch time. It's also forcing me to realize that I've been eating when I'm not all that hungry. Well, lesson learned, right?

Oh yeah, I tried making mayo with coconut oil. Uhm, not the best idea in the world! Oh well!

                              • I've had good luck with light olive oil for mayo. Siobhan just tried sunflower oil with good results too.

I think snacking is a good habit to break. Not that I'm against it when we are hungry, or occasionally (key word) for social reasons, but just out of habit, not so good. When I do snack, I try to adjust my eating for the rest of the day. Or have two snacks instead of one meal. I try not to get anal or legalistic about this. I just aim to keep my eating reasonable and flexible.
