  • I'm on the first day of the fast. I'm wondering if I should have passed breakfast this morning because I'm actually more hungry than I would be if I were just IF'ing. Although, after how I ate yesterday, this is probably a good idea.

    Yesterday
L: Jason's deli Salmon, a little bit of aoli sauce, some guacamole sauce, sliced tomatoes, lettuce, some pickle spears.
Snacks or whatnot: I think I had a total of 5 hotdogs. Two sips of koolaid to make sure my kids and her friends grabbed the right drinks at the pool party we were at. One of them grabbed the drink from the wrong drink container and it had rum in it.
D: Greek salad with grilled chicken. And a couple of boneless chicken wings (yes, breaded. Bad Alessandra)
Drinks: Water and unsweetened iced tea
Workout: P.E.M. and a little swimming

    • Okay, I think I might just do one day of this thing and I may have gone slightly over my caloric intake, but I now have a healthy appreciation for liver wurst. Shhhhh, don't tell my dad that. I've got to throw this out there about just this one day thing. One, if you would have told me a year ago today that I'd be okay with eating fried pork skin on a more regular basis, I might have looked at you like you were a crack head. Two, if you would have said the same thing about liver wurst, I would have looked at you like you've been hanging out with my Dad too much. That look would have been about the same as the crack head one.

I didn't ask about seasoning the brie cheese, but it's getting some seasoning tomorrow. Mascarpone cheese is good stuff mixed in with avocado. I do also believe I might be slightly hooked on some Kerry Gold butter. Wow, smooth! I like that quite a bit.

Oh yeah! Mom gave me her dehydrator SCORE! I can start making my own beef jerky....Nom Nom! I don't like most of the jerky's out there (lol, that's kind of funny in my head) because they're usually overseasoned and too dang spicy. I do not like spice to overpower my food. I want to taste the main ingredient! Plus, I can dehydrate other stuff for snacks. Hmmm, this could cut down on my camping trip costs more SCORE!

      Today
B: 3 slices bacon, macadamia nuts
S: Liver wurst, fried pork skins
L: Mashed avocado with mascarpone cheese and some heavy whipping cream (not bad taste all by itself)
S: The rest of the liver wurst and some more fried pork skins. Oh and a piece of mom's pork roast. I'm saving the rest for tomorrow
Exercise: 10 Minute Trainer Cardio and Abs. I did go to the pool, but no swimming because it was pretty crowded. I think tomorrow morning, after the Trainer session, I might go for a swim when there's pretty much no one there.

Ok, so I like the idea of this fast, but I may approach it differently next time I try it. I'm thinking of skipping breakfast if I'm not hungry and only eating when I need to with the foods on the list. This will be for weekends only. I know I won't do well with this at work.

Tomorrow is a chill day for the most part. One of my old NCO's from 101st Airborne is going to in town for an interview with my company. So, we're going to visit with he and his wife, hopefully, in the evening and get some dinner. I can't wait to see this guy! Gabi's 12, so that's about how many years it's been. He was a really cool guy back then when we were stationed together.

      • Ok, I've updated my sig line for my goals. I'm going to keep my training goals out of there for now. Mostly because I think I put on too much to update. I did go back up two pounds, but I should have updated that a while ago. I know the sugar thing has been a thorn in my side about the weight loss, but I haven't been walking as much in the evenings. So, that's going to have to change. I'm just going to keep my weight and body fat percentage up there for now.

        • I am super enjoying watching your fat fast -- vicarious thrills or something -- but somehow, I can't quite conceive of it as a fast:-) Maybe I'd call it a fat feast! Hey, what exactly do you do with the liverwurst? Just slice it and go for it? Do you buy regular liverwurst? It'll be an interesting experiment, that's for sure. Keep us posted. Yeah, your Mom. That's one of the things we moms are supposed to do -- give our kids all our electrical appliances!! Maybe that's how I've learned to get along with one wok and one pot!!!

Fat feast, yup, does sound more like it...

Have you done this before, Alessandra? Does it help vanquish the cravings? I can rather understand why it wouldn't work at work, LOL!

            • I've been fighting off the cravings, but it did help yesterday. Mom made some gluten free chocolate chip cookies and I turned them down. Yes, I got a whiff of the chocolate and kind of wanted it, but determined that they were for Gabi. This is going to take some serious will power along with the high protein and high fat. Gabi has learned that she's going to have to hide this stuff from me. After having a little talk with her about this, she's decided to help me out a little bit.

                • Yes, yes it is. I think after I explained to her that I didn't want to end up like my mom, she got the picture. She knows how much I hate going to the doctor's office just so they can fill me with whatever. She also knows how bad of shape my mom's been in for so long.

                  • Happy Memorial Day to all who served and gave up their lives for us!

Today was a bit of an odd one in the morning. Mom managed to pull a ligament, so I didn't get as much sleep as I wanted, but it's all gluten free pan sauce..... Most of the rest of the day was chill and pool side. The end of the day was AWESOME! I got to see one of my former NCO's from 1/101st. Oh, it was great to see he and his wife and catch up! We went to a Mexican joint for dinner. This time, I managed not to munch on so many chips. That was partially due to me talking so much and laughing.

                    Today
B: Some whipping cream and sour cream
                    S: Fried pork skin
L: Uhmm, I think this constitutes my lunch.... 1 hot dog, 1 1/2 brats, 1 sausage. Before that I had a few slices of liverwurst.
D: Ruby Tequila's Beef Fajitas with Mexican Rice, small scoop each of guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheese, and pico. Not sure, but probably about 20 chips and some salsa.
                    Drinks: Water
Exercise: Swimming and playing with Gabi in the pool.

Oh, I mentioned to my Dad about my new found joy in liverwurst. The omnivore turned vegetarian's main concern was whether it was grass fed or not and if I was eating too much. Hmmm, I wonder if he's gone back to eating meat..... I probably did eat too much of it over the past two days. It's good though. Oh yeah, bought some chicken livers! I'm going to try to make the chicken pate recipe that Mark has. Wow, those babies are cheap!

                    • Aaahhh! I'm making that pate today, too. We'll have to compare (experiences, not tastes, sadly.) My chicken livers were on sale, even. $1.14 for a pound, two ounces. If I end up loving this stuff, it will be great on the budget.

                      • Chicken liver is great. The only kind my kids kept asking for. Of course, I hid it well... LOL!

                        • Nice! I've got some stuff to make a blueberry snack that Mark has on here somewhere as well. It'll have to wait till tomorrow for me to make because my friend and his wife are in town for one more night. So, we're going to a local pizza joint. They do have a good selection of salads and what not. Hopefully I do okay with this tonight.

Did you really have just sour cream and whipping cream for breakfast? :-) We amaze me at the stuff we eat! Kind of reminds me of what little kids do when they concoct things. I mean, I bet it was good, but I wouldn't have thought of it. Yeah, okay, I like cold pickled chicken feet, and I'm sure I could do them in the morning.

                              • Judg, I still failed. They had gluten free pizza dough, but you could only get it in one size. So, I caved because I didn't want salad. Could I have gone with the salad, yes. I got yanked in by the MoMo pizza. I failed.

Pam, I did really have that for breakfast yesterday, lol. It was quick because I had to take Mom to the emergency room.
