    • Yup. And it is definitely NOT intended to be a long-term thing, for whichever reason you are using it.

      • Woah, this chick will not be doing that long term. I plan on it being a two day thing. However, I'm slightly torn between that and ecks suggestion. I did take my ascorbic acid today. I also didn't bring any fruits to work today.

        • Read this: Dear Mark: MCT Oil, Camelina Oil, and Fancy Canola Oil | Mark's Daily Apple

It may help with your "Fat fast". Mainly just the MCT section the rest is less desirable. I'm looking for ways to raise my HDL's and this popped up- thought it would be relevant to your quest for ketosis.

          • I decided to approach this with both suggestions for the time being. Yesterday was my start for doing high protein, high fat. Also, I'm going to step away from the fruits for a bit and back of too many veggies. So, I'm going to fill my plate with proteins and fats. Then if I'm still hungry, I'll hit up my veggies. Today is going to be a bit rough in the evening because my Tues small group is having a BBQ and I had already volunteered to bring fruit and make some lemon bars (gluten free) this evening. I'm going to bake up some beet chips after getting my house cleaning done and bring those to snack on just in case. I know we'll have plenty of meat tonight, so I'm going to try to fill up on that first.

Yesterday was a good day with the sugar. I did have a beer last night while I was out dancing, so not too happy about that, but I think I'm getting back to the point where I really can't stand the taste. Never been much of a beer drinker to begin with.

Oh yeah, The Food Network's Food Truck race was in Amarillo last night! They're here for one more night, but thankfully I won't be at Homer's Backyard Ball where they will be. They were in the parking lot at our local baseball team's season opener. I wanted to see what they might have to offer, but I also wanted to catch some live music and do some two stepping. Since Gabi stayed at her friend's place last night I took up on a great opportunity to see a band that I've wanted to see for a while. I did managed to dance quite a bit after meeting some people last night, so good time was had all night long. Oh yea, our team played a Canadian team last night!

            • Here's my list from the last two days. I knew I should have jumped in there yesterday and typed in what I had from Thursday. Hopefully I remember all of it today.

              Thurs
              B: 4 pcs bacon
S: Macadamia nuts and 1 large avocado
L: Leftover scallop piccata (for some reason, the dish didn't come out as good as it normally does) with steamed zucchini and some leftover roasted asparagus
              S: I think a few brazil nuts
D: Ahh, now I remember. I had dinner with the ladies from my Sun group. Oops, had too many tortilla chips! Guacamole (soo delicious!), steak covered in some sauce and Mexican rice. I managed to get rid of most of the sauce and not eat it. I'm pretty certain that there was flour in the sauce after looking at it. I tried a little bit, but it wasn't all that flavorful.
              Drinks: water and unsweet tea
              Exercise: Yoga Flex!

              Yesterday
              B: 5 pcs bacon
S: Macadamia's and 1 large avocado, some egg salad
L: Plenty of rectangled ham and sliced roasted chicken with some lettuce mix, homemade dressing. Mix of walnuts and pecans
D: 2 Brats from the baseball stadium
S at 2 AM: One more brat at home
Drinks: Water and one Bud Light Lime
Exercise: 10 Min trainer Lower Body and dancing!

It's Saturday, so it's cleaning day at my place. Time to get some more laundry done!

                • Did you see the recipe for chicken liver pate today? I ran the numbers quickly, and 1/6th of a recipe made with 8T butter would be:
                  200 calories 8.5gP 18gF 1gC
Would fit pretty well into a Fat Fast. I think I'll have to make this, and see how I like it.

Judg, we played a team called the Goldeyes. I'm not sure what league the Amarillo Sox are in. We were winning like 8-1 before I went to the food stand to grab some grub. When I came back, we were only up by 3. When I left the game. They were winning 11-8.

                        • So, you know they have Jesus' doppleganger as their pitcher right?

Today was pretty good! I didn't do as much today, so before the bbq, I tried not too eat to much but made sure I had my protein and fat. I've had a bit of a headache today, which I thought might be a low carb one, but I just have a sore and tight spot on my neck. That's probably due to sleeping weird.

The bbq was delicious! Our host smoked brisket, pork roast (then pulled it), turkey, and sausage. I think I might have come close to od'ing on the brisket, lol. I did have something slightly sweet tonight. Oh, red seeded watermelon! I ate too much though. You know that feeling that you get when your tummy gets bloated from eating too much watermelon. I had that, but my mouth told me, we can take more! It was good watermelon. I managed to not get involved in the s'more ice cream cone creations. That was hard because I didn't take the ascorbic acid before leaving, so I wanted it so bad! The gooey marshmallowy goodness was taunting me, but I managed to control it.

                          Today
I skipped breakfast since I ate so late last night
L: 6 pcs bacon and two fried eggs. Oh yeah, some goat cheese.
                          Drink: 1 cup coconut milk
D: Unmeasured amounts of beef brisket and pulled pork roast. Carrots, some cheese cubes. Ate some baby cut carrots, some homemade guacamole and about 6 deviled eggs
Drinks for the rest of the day: water

                          • Good job on resisting those s'mores! All that meat sounds wonderfully delicious. There really is nothing like an open-air barbeque/grill event.

                            • Oh man, that bbq is good stuff. My friend Matt is the man when it comes to bbq and smoking meat. I had some of the pork this morning before leaving the house! We're tailgating for tonight's free game. Mom's bringing in some beef short ribs, her slaw, and borownies. I asked her to only bring enough brownies for maybe one or two per each so I don't overeat. They're gluten free, but I know she used sweetener in them. We almost got into a small spat because she's trying to convince me they don't have that much in them. I know better, but I know she's trying. I told her I've got to best this addiction. I might not even eat them, which is probably a better idea. It only takes a little taste of sugar with those kinds of treats to set it off. I know the bbq sauce and slaw will have a small amount of sugar in them, but those I can handle. It's not the stand alone taste that'll pop out at me.
