Pam, she was fine by yesterday evening. Enough so that she pranked our downstairs neighbor with a dead snake (if you were related to me, you understand that this is actually more hilarious than the surface level laugh that it brings). She found a decapitated snake body and brought it home. I'm not scared of this kind of stuff, so she felt the need to get someone. While I wasn't paying attention, she took it downstairs and put it on my neighbors ashtray (which is actually a birdbath). All I heard was Jadi shreek and then yell at Gabi. Her excuse was that she knew she coudln't scare me, so she had to prank someone else.

Keep us up on the sugar addiction hun! Maybe something else to try is to push yourself into a state of ketosis (the state where your body is truely burning fat over sugar). This should help cravings because your body will request fat instead of sugar in your food.

      • The sugar addiction is kicking my butt lately!

In the meantime, I'm getting our stuff washed and packed to go camping at Palo Duro State Park. If any of you are ever out this way, it's pretty much the best place to visit! The road might seem like it's about to fall off on your way there, but it's purdy!

        • I almost made it today with lower sugar intake. Almost. I'm getting closer. Maybe I need to be fearless in this area? Nope, I don't think that's it. I need to put my foot down more. Yikes!

Today was so much better at work. At first I thought I was going to miss out on the chance to try something that I've been wanting to try, but I did finally get my shot at it. Oh my goodness, now I know how those guys feel when they're on the ladder trying to work and like you've got 3 or 4 people below handing stuff up. Since this was technically my first time, I also had people yelling (cause we all had protective ear muffs on) and trying to give me advice. I think I lost it a little bit, but managed to keep that outwardly under control. I need like one person talking to me to walk me through stuff, not 3 or 4! The good news is, I only had to do it once and I've got the confidence I need to do it again. Fearless and focused. My two words. Oh, and love Can't forget that one cause it's the most important one!

Phew, I just bought more camping stuff for the kid and me. I asked her if she knew that we still had both sleeping bags. She was able to account for one, so I had to get another cheap one, but I also bought a stove. We're not primitive campers (at least not together we aren't) just yet. Maybe when she's older we'll try that out. I don't mind sort of living off of the land and maybe some home snacks that are light. She's the one I've got to worry about.

          Today
B: 6 pcs bacon (I knew we'd be busy at work this morning, so I wanted to load up on protein and fat)
S: 1 small avocado, mixed berries, 1 oz macadamia nuts
L: Leftover sausage and salad with homemade dressing
S: Some of the Fearless Chocolate 70% with Dried Coconut. Not sure how much, but New Earths Banana Nut walnut mix
D: OHHHHHHHHHH! I forgot that I had this carb loader for dinner. Glutino's single serve Spinach and Feta pizza on brown rice dough. Probably, I could have done without the dough, but I wanted to try it anyway. I needed something I didn't have to worry about tonight, so I caved. Hmmm, going to try not to do that again.
S: Dark Chocolate Almonds dusted in cacao powder, like probably 5 total. I was making some trail mix stuff for this weekend and wanted to try one.........
          Drinks: Water
Exercise: 10 Min Trainer Abs and Yoga Flex

I'm so ready for tomorrow! I can't wait to try out the new camp stove! Oh, I still need to buy more bacon.

                • Wow, I was actually worn out by the time we got home this morning. I'm glad I wasn't the driver, lol. Oh, I ate WAY too much food yesterday. I ate like we were going to be hiking all day long and then it didn't happen. We had an awesome dinner last night though. Someone grilled up some fillet mignon. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, it was sooooooooooooooooooo dang good. I haven't eaten much today because I think my belly is mad that I filled it up and didn't do as much walking. However, I had a blast! I managed to get taunted by a turkey this morning. Little tom booger! I was trying to get his pic and he ran off. Then, I could hear him calling but couldn't see him. We did finally see him on our way out. I'll post pictures and more information later. Need to shower and get Gabi some new shorts.

                    • Mental note to self: Do NOT under ANY circumstances take 12 year old shorts shopping when you're still slightly tired and it's Mother's Day. This will get you agitated when she starts to get too picky.

                        • Oh, she just wanted to be picky tonight! She knows to keep cost down and is usually really good with that. Even tonight she was worried about it. I just finally got to the point where I told her if she didn't pick a pair, she would go the whole summer without shorts.

Ok, I'm going to try to remember everything we ate for the past few days. Then I'll post a few pictures tonight and some more tomorrow.

                          Friday
B: 4 pcs bacon, sauteed veggies
S: small avocado, mixed berries, handful of macadamia nuts
                          L: BAS and homemade dressing
D: German sausage, sauteed bell peppers, some gluten-free boulder chips, some strawberries. I think I'm leaving something out.
Drinks: Root beer, one can, but mostly water
Exercise: 10 minute Trainer Cardio and walking. Setting up camp after work

Saturday (the day where I'm sure to leave some foods out)
B: I think I ended up having like 8 pcs of bacon, sauteed bell peppers and onions, strawberries, homemade trail mix, and one small avocado. I thought we would be hiking shortly after breakfast, but that didn't happen till much later.
L: Hamburgers, like 2 that I mixed. Chips, more trail mix, apple, more berries. We did end up hiking after that, but we only went 2 miles. I'm pretty certain I didn't burn off all the carbs I had. Oh, I forgot that I ate a few cherry tomatoes in there too.
S: Like I really needed any of these right? More trail mix and a small Red Delicious Apple. Some sunflower seeds. OH! That's what I forgot for Friday night, pistachios
D: Fillet Mignon! Ohhhhhh, it was just so dang good. Someone brought in a whole bunch of those and cooked them up. Yeap, bacon was the first thing to go! I think I could have probably just eaten the fillet and been fine. For some reason, I felt the need to eat more. I wasn't actually all that hungry either. Some salad. I ate a few pieces of diced cooked potatoes.
S: Again, really? Limon chips that someone brought and a root beer.
Exercise: Hiking a total of almost 3 miles. Not that far for me, but I wasn't the only one hiking.

                          Sunday:
B: a small amount of scrambled eggs
L: leftover german sausage, like 2
D: Mom's brisket, some homemade slaw she made, steamed broccoli, and some chimichuri (sp?) sauce. Well, I did blow it with some of her AWESOME gluten free brownies. The two that I originally had would have been fine on their own, but I had like 5 all together. She made some homemade chocolate cinnamon whipped cream (she uses the good cream!). Divinely good stuff!
