      • Well, I skipped out on a workout today too, but it's been a day today. Gabi was at her friends house for most of the day, so I had some cave time. I managed to IF for about 17 hours today before cooking up some bacon and enjoying the last little bit of parm cheese block in the fridge.

I went to the open house this morning and actually got to stay for the flour bombing runs! Usually if I take Mom and Gabi, they get bored after a while. This time I got to hang out with some coworkers who showed up and enjoyed their company. Sigh, I loved being around planes, even if I don't know what all of them are. No, I'm not one of those cool people that can tell you every single bird out there, but I do know my helicopters for the Army, lol The little kids that were watching were so fun because I remember what it was like to go to air shows as a kid and just be amazed by all the fighter jets. I wanted to fly them when I was a little girl! While I didn't get to fly any jets, I still like working on my helo's.

Crud, I found out the hard way today that getting splinters out of one's foot is a bit of a pain in the rear! I can usually get the ones out of my hand within minutes. I got that bad boy, but not without some serious effort, determination, and patience. I put my skeletoes on after that. I barefoot it later when I'm certain my ped isn't sore anymore.

        Food:
No breakfast, waited till about almost 2 to eat
L: 3 pcs bacon, last little nib of parm cheese block
D: Grilled steak! Hmmmm, so gooood. Let it sit in the fridge with sea salt, pepper, and garlic powder for a few hours. Wrapped some broccoli up in aluminum foil (next time I need to use the heavy duty stuff, cause the recycled stuff got a little burnt on the inside) and let that cook on the grill along with some red and green bell peppers

        Drinks: Water

        • How are the skeletos? I do like the 4 toe setup (partially because I tried five fingers and couldn't do the pinky toe). They look nice though a bit of a thick soul from what I've read. I've got a pair of NB minimalist shoes with vibram souls (collaboration shoe) and love them. Though I do prefer straight up barefoot if it ever gets warm enough around here to walk outside without shoes.

          • The skeletoes aren't too bad. The only problem I have is that they stink up easily. I don't have this problem with any other shoe, but then again I'm wearing socks with my other shoes. So, that could be part of the problem. I use foot powder and it still doesn't help.

Speaking of help. The next time I decide to go to a mexican joint for lunch, I'm bringing my almond crackers with me. Overlad on the corn tortilla's. The sauce was great, should have stayed away. Ok, I asked my friend if the fried avocado's were breaded on the outside. No answer, even after asking like 5 times. So, I found out the hard way. From now on, I'm just going to take fried as meaning breaded. The inside was delicious, but I could have done without the other stuff. I fasted this morning, but I should have been better prepared for lunch.

            • Mom made dinner tonight, as it is Sunday evening DiTommaso dinner. She made some chili at first, but she was convinced that her homemade ancho pepper powder was too hot. Then she made some moussaka, which I LOVE! Except hers was more of a white sauce and she thickened the sauce with cornstarch. It was pretty good, but I told her mine is usually made with a tomato paste base. Oh well, she wanted to make hers that way too but was afraid to after what happened with her chili. Hmm? I had two meals today and that was almost it food wise, except for some almond crackers with goat milk butter about an hour ago.

Man, I must have been more tired than I realized today because I took like a two hour nap! Poor Gabi, we still haven't gone to look for a dress for her and we were supposed to today. No time because we had to be at Mom's church for Evensong with Celtic music (which I absolutely LOVE, but I feel I got a little shortchanged there).

We did have some fun this evening after all the fuss of the day. We busted out the hula hoops and even played volleyball for a bit. Man, I can't believe we haven't been doing this that much lately. I've been slacking big time in this department!

              B: None, fasted
L: Not too sure how many, but I'll venture about 30 tortilla chips with seasoning added. Fried avocados (yes, I ate some of the breaded outside) Mexican rice, and some queso deal with what I think might have been mashed potatoes? Not sure. All I know was, I was TIRED after eating. Not a good sign
D: Mom's moussaka, salad, and her homemade dressing.
S: About 4 almond crackers made into goat milk butter sandwiches.

Workout: 10 minute trainer Cardio and Lower Body. Hula hooping for about 10 mins and playing around with the volleyball.

I managed to keep the sugar cravings at bay today. Almost bought some spinach today, but I think I'll got a week without and see if it helps.

I semi caught the conversation with you and lex but I'm confused as to why leafy greens are now bad...

(Sidebar)I'm curious as to what your mousaka recipe looks like. I'd love to take a stab at making some!!

                  • Mmm, moussaka. I have a very Primal-friendly recipe somewhere, although it's definitely not authentically Greek. Can hardly wait till eggplant is in season.

                    • I love eggplant, but I grew up eating fried eggplant. That meant breaded in my house. I used to sneak up behind mom and take off with a few after she'd finished frying them.

Ecks, I think I might have gone too low carb and my body was getting a tad angry with me. I'll bring the spinach back, but I did notice that not having in the mornings has helped. Today though, I ate more fat to try to help out.

                      • Just got back from a nice little walk (I'm sure Gabi completely disagrees with the little part) down the road. I just finished mapping it and it was 2.83. I love mapmyrun.com I don't map anything until I'm done with it because I don't want to know how far I'm going. If I think about it, I don't want to do it.

I decided to see if eating more fat would calm the sugar cravings and it actually worked today. So, now I know where to go with that.

Today was sort of a little stressful at work, but I think the stress turned out to be a good thing. The jury is still out on that, but we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I managed to get up on time this morning, but still kind of wasted some time. I did manage to get in two workouts this morning, which I think kept my energy going this morning. Now, now I'm tired.

                        B: 2 pcs bacon
S: 4 almond crackers with goat milk butter, some pistachios, and mixed berries
L: Leftover grilled steak (ate as much fat off it as I could), salad with homemade dressing, and 1 small avocado
S: 2 more almond crackers with g.m.b. and some more pistachios, and a handful of chopped walnuts
D: Lemony chicken piccata with steamed squash.
                        Drinks: water
Workout: 10 minute trainer total body and cardio

I think I may have overloaded on certain snacks today, but I did manage to keep the sugar at bay. I might just know the other reason why I had the carb and sugar attack last week. I'm beginning to actually believe I might need carbs a little more during certain times of the month. I did sign up for the paleo tracker thing. I'll try it in the morning if I can. For now, I need to get some sleep. I'll post some pics from our walk. Saw some honeysuckle bushes today!
