I'm allowing him to do things he loves on the breaks and hope this will stimulate him.

      • I love my table too it's made from recycled teak, so it has this aged look.
Today was a lovely day, DS1 and me went to Antwerp. He got admitted to a new school as of september. Then we went to visit the MAS museum, which is like geography, history, religion and art class all in one . Before going home we had a drink in the sun. We weren't hungry yet although it was way past lunchtime. I shared half a roasted chicken with DS1 and DS3 when he came home from school. Tonight I treated myself to a nice tuna steak, but I couldn't finish it, and i totally forgot the sweet potatoes in the oven! Maybe because i'm a bit tired, i've been beking cupcakes for DS2 to take to school tomorrow, as saturday it's his birthday. And after that I baked another batch grainfree for my boys at home. New recipe, needs some tweaking but they're ok.
I'm enjoying the silence in my garden now, the boys went out on their bikes, should be back in a few minutes, it's almost bedtime for them. And then i'll be waiting for DH to come home from Switzerland.

          • I'm only slightly (read -- a whole lot) jealous of your DH getting to go to Switzerland. I love Switzerland!!! I also love Mozartkugeln!

              • Oh, ja. Das auch! Hmm! Very primal direction, this is going! Not sure CinW is going to approve. Hopefully, DH brought her back some good Swiss cheese. I once brought some back from Switzerland in my suitcase and had to bathe it every night during the journey. Pretty funny!

                  • Must be a way to primalize that . I'll give it a try in fall, when the plums on my mom's tree are ripe.
Had a lovely day yesterday. The weather has finally taken a turn for the best and it's like summer right now. It was DS2's birthday yesterday, so we had the whole family in our garden for a BBQ. This morning we cleaned up and now I'm enjoying my garden.
I had 3 glasses of rose wine, a little straciatella ice cream and whipped cream, but kept it primal for the rest.
Tomorow DH is going to Ireland for a whole week. It's a legal holiday in Belgium tomorrow, so I'm planning to take the kids out, don't know where yet. The sea maybe.

                    • Ugh lower back pain since yesterday around noon, I hope it passes soon! This really reminds me that I've been living pain-free for the last months, it's strange I was so used to living with pain, but now that I'm not anymore it looks like it's harder to handle? Anyway, I count my blessings, as this is the first time my back hurts in months!

I've updated my blog (Spring is finally there! | Candy in Wonderland) with some pictures of the last week, including me palying midget golf and.....my vibram's that arrived today! Wooohoow, happy as a kid! I'll be going for a walk in the forrest with the kiddo's after they get home from school (in about 1 hour), to test them .

DH is in Cork for 2 days, then travels to Dublin for another 2 days. He should be home by Friday afternoon. 2nd week in a row without him , better start getting used to it, as I know he'll be travelling more as of now. I knew this was coming, as we talked about it before he accepted a new challenge in his job. I'm home most of the time (have to go to the office only 2 days/week), so I can cope with it quite well. The only thing I'm having difficulties with is going to bed in time .

                      • Lower back pain started to get better yesterday afternoon as I started to walk barefoot...hmmm. Today is better, but it starts hurting more again when I'm staying seated, even on my sitting-ball. When I stand up and/or walk around it hardly hurts. So I'm working standing up now. Didn't know how to bring the laptop up, but I've taken the grocery boxes from my supermarket

Feels much better working like this .

I've had some treats on the weekend (rose wine, stracciatella ice cream, whipped cream) and was having a hard time to stop snacking yesterday (argh, those primal cupcakes I made for my boys!!!), but I think I have it covered today. I've planned ahead my eating for today and entered everything in paleotrack (including snacks) and I'm planning to stick with that. It will require some willpower tonight, as I'm going to do a cooking demonstration with my mom; theme: Italian cookies. I know I won't touch the "girelle" (rolled cookies filled with sugar and lemonzest, then baked in oil and butter) and cantuccini (double baked almond cookies) as they contain wheat. I'll have a harder time with the "cumbaita" (sesame seeds, almonds, honey and orange juice and zest). I will try to only taste a small piece.

                              • Hi Jenn no, no travels for me now .

Had a busy weekend (what's new?) and got some good news yesterday: my SIL's daughter had her first baby, it's a boy .

Yesterday I baked a primal red velvet cake (recipe from "Eating like a Dinosaur" with slight modifications) and it turned out delicious! The recipe is for cupcakes, but I made one large cake and filled and topped it with chocolate ganache-buttercream. I think it would be great filled with whipped (coconut) cream and berries as well. As I'm thinking of starting a kind of "primal bakery" from my kitchen, where people can order glutenfree cakes online and then pick them up at my house, this is definitely going to be on my list of possible recipes.
