    • Thanks Sabine .

Oh I had a wonderful message from my sister yesterday! She wanted to loose some weight, so she tried the protein shakes diet I have done last year. And she noticed she's feeling a lot better and more awake without eating grains! So she said she's convinced and wants to go primal now! I'm so happy for her, not for going primal but for noticing a change in her body already after just a few weeks of no grains. She has narcolepsy and I had told her already that there are studies linking gluten intolerance to narcolepsy but she didn't think that was the case with her . But now she thinks maybe I was right. I'll be talking to her next weekend, but already had a nice chat with her on the phone yesterday.

It's still curing, but I'm going to try it out soon .

We only made Whipped soap yesterday
haven't ever tried my hand at whipped soap. I've always thought it looked intriguing. Do you do CP or HP? HP is my favorite. I like instant gratification! lol

No I never had any problems with the Mayan Gold! I can't imagine what would make it do what you described. Is marseille the name of the fragrance of the soap you mentioned? And did I miss a picture?? Do you sell your soap or is just for you & the family? I used to sell mine at craft shows & online, but it got to difficult for me to do shows. So now I just make it for myself & family. I'm going to dig all my stuff out & make some on Thursday.

your weekend sounded like so much fun!! What a great way to spend a few days!!

have a great night (or day!!!)

I do both, CP if I want a 'clean' look, HP if I want it to be ready instantly (like my coffee soap for the kitchen).

Marseille is a city in Southern France, they are famous for their soap. Marseille soap must contain at least 72% olive oil (the rest is mostly coconut oil). I made this soap with 72% olive oil, 8% castor oil and 20% coconut oil and added horse milkpowder to it; I scented it with Lavandin essential oil (bought on a trip to Marseille in october last year) The picture was on my blog but it's this one:

I don't sell soap, the laws in Europe are quite strict on that. I make soap for personal use and gifts to friends and family. I'm curious to find out what soap you'll be making!

              • Just read about "no poo shampoo" on Namelesswonder's journal and I'm now reading the post on My No Poo Shampoo Story, I Went Shampoo Free & Took Pictures, but I'm wondering if it would be working on colored hair? I'm having my hair colored about every 6 weeks, because of all the grey sneaking in and I'm not sure if I'm willing to give that up yet :s .

                • I have been pooless since October. I do a home coloring every couple-few months, and the combination seems to do just fine. (I am not very fussy about my hair, however, just warning you.) i have gotten several compliments on how nice my hair looks lately.
My next experiment is going toothpasteless.

                  • I'm reading on oil pulling too , think I'll start doing that tomorrow morning, taking advantage of my DH being out of the country for a few days . And I think I'll start to go poo-less to as of right now (when my hair is in desperate need of washing ). I think it will still benefit of the fact that it's only stressed every 6 weeks (with the color, ammonia-free btw) instead of being stressed every 2-3 days.
As a matter of fact, reading about the benefits, I think maybe also my middle son Lex will benefit from it. He has really bad dandruff/crusts in his hair . He also has acne (and he's turning 12 only next month), I did notice a big difference there with him going dairy-free.

                    • Simple Mom – Live intentionally. has a recipe for a poo-less shampoo made out of baking soda. She says it takes a while for the glands in your scalp to simmer down and not produce so much oil (it's reaction to shampoo is to overproduce oil to replenish what is washed away with the poo), so at first your hair will be greasier than "normal" but it'll even out and not be so bad... my only concern is scent. I remember nameless talking about her boyfriend complaining about the scent of her hair.

Presently haircare products aren't a huge expense for us b/c my husband works for a haircare products manufacturer and they give us product a lot. But my sister works at a salon and thinks I have to use salon products rather than store products. I wonder what she'd think if I stopped washing my hair with shampoo... she'd probably think I was a hippie. lol

                      • I think smell should not be a problem. Maybe I could put some drops of essential oil in the last rinsing water for that? But I'm normally not put off by the way our body smells in natural (but clean) circumstances . I make my own soap and use that mostly to wash my hands, the rest of my body only gets soap on it once every few weeks, when I take a quality-time-bath with DH .

Oh well, it will be a nice experiment, I'll keep you updated here .

                        • I am interested in seeing how it goes. Did you check out the link I posted? She uses apple cider vinegar as a "conditioner" to counter the basic nature of the baking soda. I found that to be interesting and worried about the smell of vinegar in my hair, but she says it rinses clean and leaves no smell behind. It's definitely something worth experimenting with.

                              • Candy that is some beautiful soap!!! I can never get pretty swirls like that!!! I do mostly HP cause I don't like to wait for it to cure. I probably will be making Oatmeal Goatsmilk & Honey soap & I make honey some soap with Obsession frag. oil since that's his favorite men's cologne. He also really likes the OGH soap. Who knows what else I may make...whatever strikes me at the time. I have tons of fragrances & eo's, makes it hard to choose! Oh another of my favorites is Peppermint/Tea Tree...it was one of my best sellers when I sold soap.

Now I am in the soapmaking mood!!! LOL

Did you know you can use your soap to wash your hair? It takes a few times for the hair to get used to it, but I used to have some soaper friends that did that. We also made some shampoo bars for hair washing. I just never really liked the feel...but then maybe I didn't give it enough time. Going "poo-less" doesn't really interest me. My hair has always been very fine & very oily. Don't care for the vinegar smell...& I have to wash my hair in the shower...my sink is not big enough, so I don't think it would work to good.

                                have a great day!!!
