  • Day 4 is complete and in the books. This morning I stepped on the scale to find yet another pound gone. YAY! That makes 3 lbs lost since Friday.

At first I was worried about how rapid the weight loss seems to be, but then I reminded myself that I'm eating REAL food, when I'm hungry and until I'm full. I'm not on some starvation diet. I'm not cutting out entire macronutrients. I'm eat meat, vegetables and fruits when I want to in reasonable amounts. I cut out sugar and dairy which is releasing inflammation, which is releasing water. I'm doing just fine.

I have a mild "background noise" headache today. It's kind of annoying. Makes me thing I've entered into ketosis, but I forgot to check this AM.

Seeing 203 on the scale this morning made me rub my eyes, step off and step back on a few times. Once it said 202.8, but then the next time I got on it said 203.0. I said 203.0 like 3 times, so I'll go with that. lol Hopefully 202.x will be the number (or smaller) by Friday.

Oh and so far this morning i'm not feeling exhausted. Both kids slept well and slept all night long in their OWN BEDS! DH woke me up to say goodbye this morning and said "Look honey! You're sleeping alone!" That NEVER happens. lol And DS was cooperative this morning. He got dressed without me nagging. He didn't throw a fit when I shut off the cartoons when it was time to leave. he was a very good boy this morning. So proud of him.

        • Sorry for the game spam. it's hard keeping track of who plays and who doesn't, so I send things to everyone and figure those who don't play can just ignore me. Plus, there's a way to block them if you don't want them. I posted it on my status a few nights ago, but if you go to the help screen and search "block requests" or something like that, it'll give you instructions.

No problem - I usually do just ignore them, but I didn't want to offend, so thought I would explain why I wasn't responding.

            • It's 4 pm and I'm starting to have the slightest inkling of being hungry. I have a minimum hour and a half before I get home. And then probably another hour before I can have dinner ready. Not even sure what I'll make tonight. Maybe I'll pick up some sirloins on the way home. DH has been bugging me for a sirloin. Well, he can have a sirloin... I'll have a ribeye.

Then I'll steam some broccoli and he can have a baked potato. Now, for the kids... maybe I'll get them some beef patties. Sounds like a winner to me!

                  • I was pretty excited to see the scale read 201 this morning and texted DH. He came back with "I can really see it in your face. Noticed it last night. You little stunner you!" lol what a funny guy. I noticed it in my face too, but thought that it just looked thinner b/c it got a lot of sun this weekend.

I'm feeling a little tired today but the kiddos woke a few times last night. DS found his way to our bed before 11:30 even hit... I was too tired to take him back to bed. DD woke up at 11:30, and again at 12:00. I ignored her at 12 and she went back to sleep quickly. But DS took up a lot of room last night so he disrupted my sleep. Somehow we have GOT to break him of this habit of coming to our bed. *sigh*

But, I'm not falling asleep at my desk tired, so that's a plus. Just feeling pretty yawny.

huh... not much to report. I hope everyone's having a great day today. It's Wednesday. It's all downhill from here til we hit the weekend! Hooray weekends!

                    • Jenn - the best way to stop children from coming into your bed at night is to just take them right back into their own room, tuck them in, give them lots of love and reassurance, and then tell them this is their very own special place and they need to stay there. It takes firm consistancy, and determination - but can be done. Good luck! Remember it builds self reliance and self confidence for them to be able to sleep in their own bed, and not need to come sleep with the parents once they wake during the night. Maybe find some kind of reward that you will give him in the morning if he stays in his own room all night long.

                      • That would work if he hadn't become so sneaky that he climbs in without waking us. He used to wake me every time, but not since Primal is doing its good things to my sleep. And we have a memory foam bed that barely moves when someone's moving about. Drawback of having such a large bed I suppose... he can climb in without touching either of us... lol

                          • hum.............. quiet and sneaky! I'd love to be a bug on the wall watching all this happen! Purhaps try hanging some bells on your door knob (assuming you close your bedroom door at night) that doesn't apply if the door is open for clear passage. You might just try closing the door and adding some bells that will wake you if someone enters the room. Not good for your sleep for now - but great in the long run........ do you close the kids' doors at night? you could put the bells on their doors so you hear when they are on their way and can stop them midway. ??????

                            • Nah, we all sleep with our doors open. I know the kids would freak if their doors were closed. Tried this with naps and it ended in panicked kids.

Bells on our door might work though. Good idea.

                              • Day 6 is complete. Total weight lost: 5 lbs.

                                B:
                                4 sausage links
                                2 boiled eggs
                                vitamins

                                D:
taco meat (deer and pork mixed with McCormick Mild Taco Seasoning - all natural ingredients)
                                Shredded iceberg lettuce
Salsa - sure did miss the cheese and sour cream

Weight is up 1 lb today. Must be the sodium in the taco meat. I don't expect it to remain long.

Movement: 30 minute walk with work friend. General house stuff

I'm think I'm doing ok. My food choices are spot on. I discovered late yesterday that I forgot to take my antidepressant. Aside from some mild withdrawal symptoms I've felt fantastic so I didn't take it again today. My problem is more anxiety than depression. Primal has allowed me to reduce my dose in half and I had planned on fully eliminating the medication anyway through the Primal Blueprint. Told DH that I failed to take it yesterday. He made a joke about getting old and needing one of those pill minders. lol I told him that I'm thinking my body is no longer in need of it if I'm not subconsciously making it a priority to take it and he agreed. So, I didn't take it again today to test myself and see how I feel. I have no significant stressors in my life anymore (like I did when I started taking it) so I think it'll be a good experiment.

Ok, busy day so gotta jet. I have a paper due tonight and two discussion questions for another class. Busy busy day. Thank you procrastination!
