  • Lol Sabine! I love the riposte of sending the chocolate out in your daughter's lunches - most excellent answer How do you make the roasted curried cauliflower? That sounds out of this world! And the raspberries with dark chocolate and cream - wow! I think I need to find some raspberries today and try that out!

Awesome to stop and take note of what happened last time you had a high - keep your focus and keep moving forward, no sliding off the path in freak out binges - you are doing so well! We are all so proud of you ... have another awesome day! Hope that they start coming thick and furious and that you get used to looking and feeling great! One day you'll go back and look at your journal and say - WOW, look at how I struggled and sweated - can't believe where I am today and how normal it seems!

    • Winencandy- Even though they are different types? We've got a green and black dark, a scharfenberger dark, and a ghiradelli milk AND white. Will they play nicely with each other?

Lopisheep- Nur Zwiebelen, Fett, Eier, Speck, und Sauerrahm. Ohne Kruste schmeckt genau so gut.

        It depends.
Are they together, touching? Or have you placed them in solitary confinement???
I would pair the darks, they always get along

As for the others, (Why would you buy white???), You should sent them OUT of the house immediately!!
NEVER put the white close to the dark!!

          • Winencandy- They are each in their own wrappers, but otherwise, snuggled cheek-to-cheek. As to why I bought white: don't you read GayPanda?

              • Sabine, glad you are being cautious about the binge. What are the benefits of white chocolate other than lots of sugar and no cocoa?

Yes, I read Gay Panda, but didn't "get" the whole Debauchery thing.

I laughed so much reading that!
I remember that post, but somehow the white chocolate in the morning part didn't stand out

                  • Coll- the roasted cauliflower is from 'Everyday Paleo' by Sarah Fragoso. i never would have thought about roasting cauliflower, but it is wonderful. You cut a raw cauliflower into florets, toss in coconut oil, then toss again with a mixture of curry, turmeric, salt, and garlic powder. Bake for about 45 minutes at 350. I would heartily recommend this cookbook. I have liked most everything I have tried from it.

Yes, my girls love getting a chocolate surprise in their lunches. Little do they know, I am appeasing the chocolate gods at the same time as pleasing them. Two for one!

Here is something else I recently heard of, and have been wanting to try. Mark's post that raspberries and dark chocolate should be eaten together to help avoid a manganese deficiency just gives me a green light. Take a fresh raspberry. Stuff with dark chocolate chip. Serve at room temperature. I think this will be the sweet nibbles next time I have friends over.

Oh, when that day comes, that my food/weight struggles are in the past. How lovely it will be. I know it is coming. The fact that I can already not be afraid of being hungry, that a big thing for me.

Pebbles- the benefits of white chocolate are strictly romantic/sexual, not nutritional. I love Debauchery, even more so, now. (Hmmm, taken out of context, I am sure this quote could come back to haunt me.)

Winencandy- yes, #2397! I might have to print that one out for posterity. I laughed so hard I cried.

                    • Okay, Lopi and Sabine. I've never made Zwiebelkuchen. Recipe please. Das möchte ich auch bald machen. Mmm, Zwiebeln...

Cauliflower was both cheap and beautiful this week. Roasted cauliflower, here I come.

                      • Thank you Bing Translator for telling me what everyone is saying who is speaking German...

German, ladies? Really? I was worried there was a top secret conversation going on and I was missing out.

I do like the roasted curried cauliflower recipe. I will have to try it! I found a roasted cauliflower recipe online one day that coated the cauli in olive oil and some garlic, roast, add fresh spices, roast again, then add shredded parmesan. It was good. Plan to make it again.

                        • Zwiebelkuchen:
Slice your onions, and slow-saute them until golden in the fat of your choice. Don't be stingy with it, lots of fat!
                          Let cool.
Meanwhile, cut your bacon into squares, and cook for a few minutes. It should still be chewy, but some of the fat should be coming out.
Into your cooled onions, mix: eggs(2 per each onion you used) and sour cream(about 2T per onion used). Toss in some salt and pepper, then pour into a casserole dish of the appropriate size so that the mixture is about 1 1/2- 2" deep.
Top with the bacon squares. There should be a little space between the bacon, but not much- you want to cover the top!
Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes, until firm. The bacon will have shrunk up, and any stray fat on the surface of the zwiebelkuchen will be simmering and spitting.
Let cool. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.

I use yellow or red onions.

                              • Thanks Sabine. Sounds wonderful.

Jenn, sorry, but it happens so incredibly seldom that I run into people who actually speak German. Mine has almost rusted out from disuse.

In that vein, check YouTube for the Andrea Bocelli/Judy Weiss duet in German and Italian. Wonderful stuff, even if you don't understand a word.
