  • It's so interesting the order. I haven't had many of the signs of leptin sensitivity at all yet - no warming consistently (once or twice here or there only), no waking up refreshed, etc. But I have gotten full from my BAB and now haven't eaten lunch intwo weeks. If I had to guess, I'd say that it's pure caloric reduction doing the weight loss, but I'm not hungry AT ALL, so yay! It's the magic of the LR that has me able to reduce my food intake without struggling or suffering.

    OTOH, you're not too full for lunch yet, but have had enough of the other signs that you can do LHT & HIIT now. I don't feel anywhere close to ready for that! I am still EXHAUSTED, at least this week. But maybe it's die-off?

    • Yeah its weird... in the past 2 weeks I think I've had lunch 3-4x out of the 14 days... while I could eat lunch today - I'm not hungry - so I figure why eat... I'm just doing my BAB + some Carbs (Berries/yogurt/honey or 1/2 banana - anything else and I hit food coma)

      Its so refreshing... When I first tried Ifing back in Jan of this yr - it was sooo hard... now its like meh? I'll eat when I 'm hungry... I'm sure I'll be hungry for dinner tonight we're having Fish tacos w/cilantro & lime coleslaw! (I may even indulge in a couple of corn chips)

        146 = streak broken, lol. I don't know why, but my belly is very swollen this morning. The rest of me feels smaller. Belly feels like it has a brick in it.

        Results
        - energy about 6/10
        - bloat about 5/10
        - skin less dry after long detox/exfoliating bath last night
        - hair still very sebum-y
        - Slept <8 hrs, bad time getting to sleep.

        Once again, a little while after I was in bed, I felt the spinning mind come on slightly, the restless leg nerves (mostly my upper right leg this time), and the waves of belly pain - This time, the belly pain was very mild, though. I got up and took a detox bath, disgusted at not being able to sleep or lie still. Got to sleep after that, but all the bloating was still there in the morning and I was at the same weight I went to bed at instead of the usual 1-2lb drop overnight when I'm boated.

        • Today - Thanksgiving! I got up, ate my BAB, and skipped lunch just like the last two weeks. WHAT THE FRAK? How? I just didn't feel like eating. Certainly not the food full of cream of something soup, soybean mayo, wheat wheat wheat, sugar, corn syrup, more more more... The only thing available was the turkey, and why eat dry turkey when I wasn't hungry?

          The amazing thing was that I was able to make a completely rational decision.

          And then, I went and had great conversation all day. It was really odd to spend the whole day not focused on the food, either snatching bites before it was ready, going back for seconds, plotting thirds, sneaking fourths, feeling miserable for hours, then the very moment I have any room, going back for more dessert. I focused on the people - and loved it!

          Then, at dinner time, I was quite hungry, and had only the turkey to face (still at family member's house). The first bite was, um, so dry I literally choked. LIterally. Had to drink water to get it down my throat. So I went to the sweet potatoes and got what was almost pure potato (a big lump, unmashed) and had some of it with each bite of turkey. Then I sampled a bite of pecan pie (just the pecans) that I made and a bite of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake (which was actually from Publix and had almost no flavor, bizarrely enough). Done.

          Went home, thinking about cheesecake all the way. Interesting that that effect is still there. I ate some breakfast sausage and then made a calculated move - finished the very small piece of cheesecake available and called it a day, as far as eating was concerned. I'm done.

          Done!

          Thanksgiving = turkey, v. sm. serving of sweet potatoes, and 1/2 sm. slice of cheesecake. The End.

          (I am a little nervous about the serious cravings that followed the bit of cheesecake - that didn't happen last week; was it some storebought processed ingredient that did it? - but really pleased with the ability to think my way through a major food day. I do not in any way wish I had had any other of those foods or more than I did have. Most importantly, I now know - when I ask that question, "What, exactly, will one bite do?" the answer is "cravings." How long that will continue, I don't know, but it still is for now. Also, I know that I do have the strength to think logically even in the middle of the cravings and make logical decisions about how to end, instead of indulge, them. This did NOT end in a binge. Nowhere near it. !!)

            BBT - I really need to take my temp to check if it's changed any!
            145 - same brick in my stomach as yesterday, though, so I imagine it's really a good deal less.

            So, brick in the belly - eggs? I'm going to take them out again tomorrow to check. Digestive enzymes? Maybe. Afraid to give those up, though, and if' they're the culprit, ,is it just die-off? In which case, I'm fine with it till it passes, so long as it doesn't affect NurselingGrok, and it doesn't seem to be.

            Why was my sleep easier last night? Don't know.

            WHY am I so bloated tonight? This kind of bloating I haven't seen since before I started theelimination diet. I guess it could be from yesterday's food. Could it be that delayed? Or maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree. I don't know. I HATE HATE HATE looking 6 months pregnant when I'm not.

            • I realized today that just two days after I started my sugar addiction desperation thread, the leptin thread was started, and I started my LR exactly one week after my cry for help. I never noticed that connection before. . Quite striking.

                My measurements are AWESOME. All are at or below where they were at my lowest point in March/April (although weight is still 1.5lb higher, so where is that? I was bloated then, too.). Glut measurement went down an inch just this week. Hip measurement went down (can't remember exactly) 1/4 or 1/2" in just the last two days! I'll post the exact changes when I get home - it is just so motivating to see this kind of change so quickly!

                I don't need 1/4lb loss/day to continue forever ... just two or three months, lol.

                I don't know how long to expect it to continue - Dr. K says it will fall off when you're LS, but I know I'mnot yet. Sleep, mood, & energy prove that.

Not all over this time, though, just in the lower small intestine, it looks like? I totally look 5 months pregnant. Totally. Back to HCl? Or is it left from yesterday's eggs? Or die-off that isn't showing up in tandem with other signs? (I've had bloating for several years, so it seems unlikely, bbut maybe?)

                    • Yesterday I took out the goal pants that I had from 2005 and put 'em on. These were the pants I hung in my pantry in front of the cereal to stop me from eating half a box at a time. It didn't work.

                      Finally, 6 years later ... they work. The long gain is over. The tags were still on them! And they are just about 1/2 - 3/4" on the thigh away from looking really good. !

                        Let's see what (if anything) the potatoes do. I did nothing but meat & oil for two weeks and am still bloated, so on to the next thing, I guess. Whatever that may be, I have no idea.

                        • Feeling CRANKY this evening. So cranky that I thought I should check my belly - sure enough, very bloated and on its way worse.

                          If I can find the solution to either of these problems, I will have the solution to both.

                          At least the energy is sticking! Oh, dear God, please let me keep the energy! I am LOVING it!!!

                            - was very hungry around 4pm. Meant to drink tea to hold off till dinner; forgot. Made it fine with no temptations.

                            Tonight I wore a skirt I haven't been able to wear since 2004!

                            My thigh measurement is what's going down right now. I'm measuring just my middle third every other day, just for fun, b/c I can't wait till the weekend to see how much has changed! (And b/c the weight isn't going anywhere.)

                            • I think - maybe - I'm getting some leptin sensitivity here. I don't know if I remember this right, but I think that when your body starts recognizing leptin signals at the

                              - liver, your incessant cravings disappear
                              - muscles, you get energy again
                              - brain, your mood & libido & other neurological things improve.

                              I think - just maybe! - I got two out of three!

                              • To borrow a quote from shijin, I went shopping in my closet this morning - have about 8 more shirts and 4-5 more skirts I haven't worn since 2004 tthat are now available to me! (And yes, I'm rapidly giving the hopelessly-outdated ones away!) And I stuck on the daisy dukes I bought my senior year in high school (1993) ... they fit just as well as they did then!

                                Size 8s are fitting well. Thighs dropped another 1/4" since yesterday. That's 1/2" since SAturday, yet no weight loss. What is happening internally when you're losing fat, but not weight, and not working out at all?

                                The only thing standing in my way of looking how I want is the bloated belly and the belly fat that I gained for the first time in my life in those last few years of crazed sugar addiction.
