  • @sabine Sorry for being 6th page not as active on here as I was because I'm not longer at a computer for 8 hours a day (like I was when I was working)

@siobahn there is a new pic of me 2 pages back (page 81) I made a before an after photo for my facebook display and posted it here too!

@pam Believe it or not I see my buddy in winnipeg on a fairly regular basis. usually 3-4 times a year. He was actaully up here on the weekend because the surprise wedding was his older brother's. Great thing is that he didn't even know his brother was getting married. And yes he's paleo. He was a huge help in getting info when I decided to go paleo. (He's on the forums here but not a very active poster)

@Judg Inbox checked! and checked again this morning. I'll respond soon!

So last night I was going for a barefoot jog/walk/sprints on the way home from a buddies place and I got pulled over by a cop in an unmarked vehicle. He got out and asked if I was in danger. I thought it was quite funny! When I looked at him funny he explained that it's not every day you see someone running around outside without shoes. I guess I must have looked funny with no shoes, oversized shirt, thick brimmed asitate glasses and a bandana.

      • Lol! I can just picture the scene with the cop ... nice of him to check on you though! My friend's dad is a pretty wild looking South African farmer, doesn't speak much English and what he does speak is heavily accented, he has long bushy hair and was taking a walk around the neighborhood in SC when the folk called the cops to 'check on the suspicious looking character!' She was mortified and it took a little while for the cop to understand that he is just a foreigner who is very interested in all these 'crazy Americans'.... lol.

            • @Coll It's funny what people find "out of the ordinary" these days eh?

@Siobhan Guess it helps that I'm barefoot in my "now" pic which was taken in my church's lobby.

So I am still as of yet unemployed... not having fun with this. I want to explore possibly going back to school but I have no idea how I would financially manage it...

              • Lurker here. Hi! Love the story. Read it to my husband and we are botching laughing. Keep up the good work and good luck on the job front.

                • Ecks, have you checked out government subsidies? There are often generous retraining programmes, but I'm really not at all what the situation is now. Worth finding out.

                  • If you could study anything you wanted going to school (not job oriented, just what you wanted), what would you study?

                    • Truth is that I don't know right now... I'm feeling a little uninspired. I guess if anything I'd want to do like a chef's training course. I think that would be a lot of fun.

                      • Hey, you could do one of those butcher training courses where you learn all about ALL the cuts of meats from all animals and how to cut them. Of all the stores I regularly go to -- especially Whole Foods and New Seasons -- it's the butchers that have the most fun, who notice you when you come in. They have great smiles and fun stories and look happy -- and they know their meat. Maybe your great butcher needs an apprentice:-)

Gosh, I so know what it's like to be uninspired. I am hoping church will be a positive influence for you today. When does you best friend move to town? Thinking thoughts of a big steak for you with lots of vegies, good friends, a new living situation that costs a lot less than whatever you pay now and a fun, healthy job. Thinking and praying for you and inspiration and good times.

If you were the butcher in my town, I'd go wherever you were and get my meat exclusively from you.

I think it's about time for another picture of a great meal. November 22nd is coming up. 232 or less.

Then you could start a small, homey primal cafe and teach people about primal and make bunches of people happy:-) You are good at that!

                            • It's really funny, this has reminded me that I always wanted to be a butcher. Back in the day, one would get very, very strange looks if one stated this as a career preference! Especially if one happened to be a relatively petite female. Today no one would bat an eye.

Reminds me that I haven't boned a chicken in a good while - must do that soon.

                              • Butcher's appretace wouldn't be a bad idea. I love meat and I certainly don't mind the carcass of the animal being around (the pig roast 2 weekends back was so much fun in that aspect!). For now I'll keep hunting around.

So at the request of Pam I have a food photo... not a pretty one but damn was this meal delicious! First time doing an "oriental" style meal since going paleo.

Stirfry made with red peppers, garlic, onion, mushrooms, eggplant, coconut milk, parsley, sesame oil and shrimp over a bed of spaghetti squash and carrot "noodles". Side of uuber spicy chicken.

So I forgot to mention to all of you... For those of you who have been with me for a while on this journey you know that one of my original goals was to be able to fit comfortably in an airplane seat belt without a seat belt extension; and well you guys know that my only plane trip for the year got canceled so I had removed it from my goals in my signature. Well it turns out I'm flying this weekend! So I'm going to add that goal back into my signature and confirm if it's an achieved goal or not. I'm hoping it is but I'll let you guys know soon. That is all for today!
