  • @Sabine- hahaha I'm glad I remind you of balls ... Think... :P too funny!

@Judg and Dashfire- I was thinking of doing a progress photo at 70lbs off... hopefully shouldn't be too much longer... but I do agree it's been too long and I think to a certain degree it would be humbling

So I figured out my energy issue... What I thought was bad sleep. Combination of inadvertently not getting enough fat and not getting enough sugar... all at the same time. This past week I had given up the breakfast milkshake (that I usually have with meat on the side) because earlier in the week I had a coconut milkshake with older coconut milk and threw it up. At the same time I found a pre made paleo salad dressing at the organic grocery store so I had stopped making my dressing which usually has nut butter in it... and on top of that I had run out of salmon oil and was avoiding the grocery store like the plague... all in all I've essentially cut out too much fat and too much sugar... well I fixed that all today. Picked up some salmon oil caps to go with my mct oil to start the day fatwise and I started my day with the usual coconut milkshake. Even had some trailmix and a small chocolate milk at lunch to get things up and running (well those are technically because I forgot my packed lunch at home but that's besides the point!) Feeling better already!

    Yesterday

Breakfast- Piece of roast, 1 hard boiled egg, 2 squares of g and b 85

Lunch- chicken wings and an avacado

Dinner- (complete experiment based on a recipe I saw on master chef) Crab rolled scotch eggs with a small piece of steak on the side, some cherry tomatoes, and a big ass salad

    Exercise- 6.5km barefoot walk

    Supplements- 6000ui vit D, 2tbsp of mct

    Today

Breakfast- 1 hardboiled egg, coconut milkshake

Lunch- pack of trailmix and a small chocolate milk

Dinner- 2 chicken thighs, steak, 1 hard boiled egg, big ass salad, 3 squares G and B 85

Supplements- forgot them this morn... Eh, i'll start fresh tomorrow

Exercise- does running in circles barefoot in the coolest rainstorm ever count?

Please pray for me, I may have some news tomorrow that I don't want to hear and I can't/probably shouldn't post any speculations until I know.

    • Not enough sugar? *tries to wrap her primal head around that one*

      Okay, praying.

      • well specifically not enough carbohydrate. Your body needs harbohydrate to a certain degree... not as much as SAD eaters eat but there is a point where sugar is needing for short term fuel as well. I was lurking into the 20-30grams or so a day area when I should be between 50-100g's a day

            • Hey Metric, At this time I can't post about it. But thanks for checking in on me . I know what it is and I'm in a good place but it's one of those things that I can't discuss outside of work (with work being in the press n whatnot a lot lately)

              Quick food journal for yesterday

Breakfast- Coconut milkshake (no coco but a ton of vanilla!... It tasted like strawberry/vanilla ice cream!), 1 hard boiled egg

Lunch- 2 chicken thighs, 2 cups mixed veggies

Dinner- Creamy pesto alfredo made with coconut milk, butter, parmasean, pesto, jalapeņo paste, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, parseley all over speghetti squash.

Was at the kitchener multi cultural festival today. Filled with good food! (though not the best for me but eh, I loved it!) I'll post food tomorrow as per norm

              • Well... probably my most unpaleo day in my 7 months and 1 day of doing paleo so far... I'm just going to list out food as there was no real "meals" set for the day.

                1 Jamacan Patty
                2 Samosas
Couple slices of Summer sausage with spicy mustard
                2 Pieces of G and B 85% Dark Chocolate
1 Double Black Russian (Kaluah and vodka)
1 Cigarette (I didn't eat it obviously but I should declare it for the day)

Eh, guess we all need a day to let it go. Oops... I've been much better today though

Yop yop! But try healthier carbs in the form of starches. Welcome potatoes back into your life in all their wonderful glory. And squash. I'm feeling good and not gaining weight by eating a lot more of them and don't have out of control cravings with them either.

                  • So I had a much better consumption day yesterday than 2 days ago. Quite happy with it all really. Over all it was acutally a really good day yesterday- church, reading, book study, and a fundraiser for a friend who's going on a mission to Rwanda. Also ran into an old friend from high school and was able to buy her cd! All in all full of energy and rearing to go! That being said it's set to be a crappy week at work- tons to do and almost too much exposure (aka too many things that can go wrong in front of upper management). Oh well! We'll see how it goes!

                    Food for yesterday

Breakfast- couple slices of summer sausage with spicy mustard

Lunch- Scrambled eggs, chicken skins, cherry tomatoes, half avocado. Mix of organic bbq sauce and pesto for dipping the unseasoned skins.

                    Snack- couple slices of cucumber.

Dinner-Didn't really get a chance to eat- busy night

Supplements- 3000mg salmon oil, 6000ui VitD, 2tbsp MCT

So this week is already starting to weigh on me... cue wednesday- lots going on today so I'll be glad when it's over... Tomorrow will be much of the same... lets hope it all goes well.

                        Yesterday
Breakfast: Summer sausage and BP coffee
Lunch: Packed but never eaten... too damn busy at work
Dinner: Burger and coleslaw from "The Works". No bun. Topped with chapoltle ketchup, caremelized onions, lettuce, tomato, bacon. Slaw was made with "Real Mayo" which likely means vegtable oil...

                        • Yup, almost certainly means canola. But you know what? A tiny bit now and again is not going to kill you. I don't obsess too much about details when I'm eating out. I don't order pasta either, that's not a detail, but if there's a wee bit of breading or some mayo, meh. Maybe it would be different if I ate out daily, but I don't. I've been meaning to get to "The Works". They started here in Ottawa, you know.

Hope things clear up at work for you soon. You don't need that much stress.

I agree with Judg, a little here and there is okay and not worth worrying about. So long as it isn't daily or too often.

Ecks, I'm going to totally hijack your thread again.

Judg, there are (IMO) much better burger places in Ottawa than The Works. It's good, don't get me wrong, but I find the meat at Vera's (Bells Corners) and Hintonburger (Hintonburg) is much better (juicier and more flavourful). Listed those two since they are sort of in your neck of the woods. If you find yourself in the Byward Market, try out Brother's Beer Bistro, my favourite burger in town.

The Works, my favourite is Pony Express (except I find it's better on chicken breast). It has cream cheese, horse radish, Frank's Red Hot sauce, cheddar cheese, topped with ripe tomato (I get raw onions instead of tomato since I'm allergic to tomatoes). If you're not eating cheese, then definitely avoid this one!!

                            Sorry for the hijack :S

On the other hand, I live two minutes' walk from one of the best shawarma joints in town.

                              • Hey All! Sorry I haven't been around. Been eating primal all week so I've been good. Closest thing to non primal was probably the goat cheese on my salad last night. I'm dead tired though from a very busy week at work. I'm headed camping though so I'll be back to regular postage next week. Later!
