      Seriously....try it. It's amazing!
I checked it out. I don't know if I've ever seen Kerrygold butter. I'll look. Don't know if we have it in Canada at all. How on earth does one know if the coffee is mold free? And where do they sell MCT oil? I know, I'm full of questions. I normally drink my coffee black, so this would be quite the switch for me.

        • Sour cream eggs are good! I've put quite a few things in my eggs in the past. I'm like CS and have done the heavy cream in them. Both options are pretty yummy.

A book club, ey? I think that's a great idea! I joined one about 2 years ago and made some new friends. I'm in a different one now, but what better way to get to know people than by being in a situation where you have to ask questions?

          • Wow! Lots of response to both the eggs and the BP Coffee.

CS- I may be starting to give BP fasting a more fulltime look after my next weighin

Ladies interested in BP Coffee- I try to buy locally roasted (and organic if I can swing it) high quality coffee. You can't find Kerry Gold in canada but organic meadows does grassfed organic butter for the spring/summer/autumn seasonsons and grain/grass (well hay) fed in the winter. MCT oil can be found at most "nutrition house" style stores (the ones filled with the magic "weightloss remedies" and vitamin bottles). Comes in about a litre bottle- goes for about 40$.

For the sour cream eggs I found it best to start with the eggs cracked/unbeaten and in a cold pan. Put the pan on the stove and turn it on to medium heat. Continually stir the eggs gently with a rubber spatuela. At 3/4 cooked add a tablespoon of sour cream and any seasoning. at 90% cooked turn off the pan and serve. Because the eggs are still hot they will finish cooking on the plate before you go to eat it. Yum!

            Food blog for yesterday

            Breakfast- IF

Lunch- Chicken wings and 2 cups Veggies

Dinner- 3/4 Egg Pizza (this one turned out sloppy but still good!) Eggs, tomato sauce, roast beef, bacon, tomato, guacamole, spinach, havarti

Dessert was a cheat: 5 cadbury mini eggs (buddy put them out on the table when I got to his place... darn him!... and darn me for not being able to say no)

Excercise- Walked to my buddies place for hangouts and walked home. Probably 40 mins total walking

Supplements- 2TBSP MCT, need to buy salmon oil but hate going to the grocery store...

            • Woo! Had an awesome day yesterday! Both at work and after. After work yesterday though I caught up with Primal-Jojo who I haven't actually seen in about 6 years or so. It was awesome just hangin out- we went to the park with her dog and just roamed around for a good hour and a half 2 hours or so in the sun. Spent the whole afternoon talking about the changes we've seen in our health/diet and just paleo in general. Made me happy to talk face to face with someone about paleo because besides CS I don't know anyone else in real life who is. After that we were thinking of what we could do for food and I finally brought a restaurant out of the "must try" back pages for us to go to. The food at the restaurant is mainly locally sourced- little expensive- which is why I needed someone who would appreciate the food to come with. Food and atmosphere were absofreakinloutly amazing! Best culinary experience I've ever had and some of the warmest flavors I've ever put in me. from the first bite I felt all warm and relaxed inside- Definitely going back! Loved picking apart my dish with jo and figuring out what all was in it too. I think I'm going to try make it.

              Food log for yesterday
Breakfast: Slow cooker roast beef (all done now!)

Lunch: 2 packs of beef jerky (I ran out in the morning completely forgetting to pack a lunch)

Dinner (At bhimas warung)- Shrimp and beef curry with what we could taste was tomato and onion puree, red curry powder, pineapple, lemon grass, snake beans, mushrooms and sesame seeds. Mmmm... made me happy!

Exercise- Hour and a half or so in the sun at the park

              Supplements- didn't take any

So today I have a weird shift. 1pm-10:30pm. Seems odd but it's for an event at work tonight. Gave me the chance to sleep in this morn pretty hardcore so I'm nice and well rested and It'll be lots of heavy lifting and slow moving at work today. All in all I'm quite happy with that.

              • Bhimas is the best thing ever. Period. I went there a while back and, yes, it's quite expensive but the food / service / knowledge there is unbeatable!! I think I had some sort of duck dish when I went -- delicious :-D.

I'm interested to see how the Bulletproof coffee thing will work for you -- worst case, it could become an occasional treat or something (I know of others on the board who do it that way). Your odd shift seems like a good time to do an extended fast if you're up for it....just sayin'!

                  • @CS Odd shift = not a good time to fast. lol it was not like it was a regular shift. It was an event... lots of moving.

So today was (as semi stated above) a long day at work. I did get to sleep in this morn (Score for waking up at 8:30!) but I had an odd shift of 1pm-10:30pm. Was moving the entire day with very little down time. Lots of heavy lifting, lots of setting up, lots of walking, loaded and unloaded the cargo van twice (with the help of a team mate)... It all adds up. I knew the event coordinators were providing dinner and I knew that I would likely not be able to eat it but I figured I'd have time to go out and pick up a healthier option... Not so. So instead I ate some salad. (The other options were pizza, rice and quesadillas. eek). Near the end of the night (pre event teardown plus van load in/unload) I could feel myself starting to wear down and my glycogen stores depleting... Essentially eating what food eats for dinner wasn't fueling me so I did grab a juice container (they were in small 1/4 cup packs)- barely just enough to get me through tear down. At one point while unloading the van I got light headed... not fun. When I got home I was starving but I figured what my body really needed was rest. Instead of eating I took a tablespoon of MCT oil to fuel my body as I rest and restore.

                    Food
Brunch (yes I'm calling it brunch): 3 slices of tomato drizzled with olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon juice. Tablespoon of sour cream garnished with fresh dill on the side. 6 chicken wings, and the leftovers of my egg pizza from 2 nights ago.

                    Dinner: Salad with balsamic dressing.

Supplements: 3 TBSP MCT Oil (2 in the morn, 1 when I got home from work), 6000ui Vit D.

Excercise: Got to work 30 mins early and decided to go for a 30 minute walk before starting my shift + Loading/Unloading AV gear in/out of our cargo van twice, setting up AV gear, tearing down av gear, stayed on my feet pretty much the entirety of my shift outside of siting while driving the van and a quick stroll around the building in a wheel chair I found in the firstaid room (I was pretty tired and not of sound mind at this point) all in all very long and strenuous day. Ready for me sleep time. Night!

                    • I sometimes forget the amount of movement involved in your job since I'm at a computer all day :-). Good thing you didn't fast!

Too bad about the dinner that was provided -- it always happens that way. I've only ever gone to one work-related function where they provided food that wasn't terrible. It was greek so a lot of meat and salad!

You've made me want to up my MCT oil intake, btw. I just bought a huge-ass container of it so it's good timing lol. Have you noticed anything extra from the MCT oil past the 1 - 1.5 tablespoon / day amount?

                      • I used to take MCT 1TBSP at a time (One at breakfast and one at lunch) what I've found is that 2TBSP in the morn really sparks my physical and mental energy then gives me a nice mental high for most of the day. I feel much sharper taking 2 in the morning then spreading them out in the day.

                        • Ecks, do you have anything that roughly corresponds to a woman's purse? You know, messenger bag, brief case, computer bag, back pack? If so, stock it with jerky or nuts or something to bail you out in emergencies like that. I used to keep granola bars in my purse for that (well, I still do, but it's for homeless people, or non-Primals going through a sugar crash).

Was not expecting this, but it made me chuckle. Cause honestly, what else are we going to do with granola bars?

@Dashfire- the book study group chose "Dating with Pure Passion"- it takes a biblical take on how god wants us to find/bild both dating and non dating relationships. I personally bought 2 books today- "Heat Rises" and "Deadly Storm" both written by ghost writers with the author listed as the fictional character "Richard Castle" (yes from the TV show). Heat rises has been good so far as far as story. The writing could use a bit of work though.

                              • Just a quick update and then I'm out... My computer was wigging before church so I couldn't update then. Weighin Sunday. Down to 266.4! That's completely on par with my 1.5lbs a week drop that I've set as around my pace. I did a calculation about 2 weeks ago that if I can maintain 1.5lbs a week for the rest of the year I'll have an 11lb buffer for my new years eve goal so that makes me quite happy! I'll update my signature too! I'm quickly encroaching the 70lbs mark... 3.4lbs to go!
