    • I just need to do it. It requires a bit of a change of style for me. I usually have a set of meals for the week worked out in my head with all the ingredients in the pantry. Then on a particular day I decide what I feel like making. I really just need to decide a little bit earlier and like you say freeze to use later or pop into the crockpot. Literally just have to do it.

      • Really, Pinterest has some great ideas for Paleo crockpot freezer meals. Like you say, I just need to do it. We are ina rut mealwise because I just do not want to think about it until dinnertime and end up throwing together any old thing.

        • yep that is where I have been for the past few weeks. I started to use a CSA and that has thrown me off. It really is too much veggies for the two of us. I love the fresh veggies and eggs, but really it is enough for 4 people. The thing is though that I am not good at knowing what is in season, so pick up is a bit like Christmas, lovely surprise. But it throws a wrench in planning for the week. I do pickle some of the stuff, and I am sure I will get better at it. I probably just need to figure out protein dishes for the week and either roast, or turn into a salad or soup, whatever I have from the CSA. Which is what I am doing tonight...roasted butternut squash, roasted green beans, grilled steak with avocado tzatziki sauce. Today is an UD for me. So tomorrow on my DD, for Honey I have a green bean salad, and a pasta with butternut squash and kale in a creamy butter sauce. The green bean salad and the squash will be from tonight's left overs.

          • OMG, Chris, on a low cal day, you have me reading about dinner tonight? YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm making the boys cajun chicken pasta.

190.8, which was a huge jump, considering that yesterday was on a medium calorie day (at most, 1,000 calories, my high cal day should be around 2,000). I'm making today a low cal today and will resume normal rotations tomorrow. But, more importantly, noticing my pants are getting long again and things are bagging in the shoulders.

Sorry, I really need to put your DD's on my calendar so I won't do that to you.

It is funny that I notice things are getting longer before I notice they are getting looser. Well actually I also notice things are getting shorter before I notice they are getting snug. I think it is because I wear mostly skirts and I tend to lose and gain in my bum first.

                • ☺️

So we have Tuesday and Thursday in common and you add Monday and Saturday. Now since I can barely remember when mine are I am not likely to remember it, but I will work on it.

I have been having to spend much less time on Pinterest because of the food porn.

Actually I am really trying to switch my focus away from food, obviously unsuccessfully.

                  • Seriously, it's no problem. I'm generally at the point where I can look at food and it doesn't bother me (now, to actually touch it/prepare it, that still causes issues). I like having DDs in common. Once I get home next week, I can settle back into my schedule. I do better. And, this is odd, but I do better to have a Saturday DD than a Sunday. I think my boys have more plans on Saturdays and it's easier to have a "whatever you find in the 'fridge" day/night.

Weight later. I try to weigh at the same time every day. I can be a pound or two higher at 5 than I am at 7. Although, crud, I was so hungry, I've already had 2 glasses of water and some chocolate covered cranberries while making the boys' snack bags. Dag gum it! Missing data!

                    • I saw this on FB and really liked it (I don't know the original source) - forgive some of the "adult" language.

"Armed with these two halves to the ideological whole, I encourage you to take back Today. Today, you are in complete control. Today, you are choosing to stick to pre-defined healthy habits. Not lose X pounds, not fit into size X pants. You are choosing to eat within or under your caloric limit, drink plenty of water, and maybe exercise a little. That's it. No matter how bad you fucked up yesterday or what the scale says after that particularly shameful McDonald’s run, it doesn't matter.

That's right. It doesn't matter what the scale says. You gained a pound since yesterday? No big deal. Your body is a dynamic and surprisingly resilient organism that fluctuates and changes all the time for a variety of reasons. As long as you dedicate yourself to eating within your caloric allotment and staying even just mildly active, the pounds will eventually come off. Yes, your weight might fluctuate from day to day for any number of reasons, but as long as you stick to your habits, the overall trend will be a loss in pounds. Now, if your habits leave you plateauing for a significant amount of time, it’s time to adapt and reevaluate. Learn from your mistakes, don’t dwell on them.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m always intrigued by how quickly time goes by. Regardless of whether I ate 3000 calories over my limit or exercised my ass off and ate like a mouse, the world still turns, the sun still rises and sets, and another day gets ticked off the calendar. The hours are going to pass whether I like it or not, and it’s up to me to make the most out of all 24 of them. Every minute is an opportunity to do something great, and every minute you don’t act is an opportunity squandered.

You are more than just a number on a scale. You are greater than the sum of your cravings. You are a complex and amazing human being, and no matter what you might think, you are in control of your weight loss. Because shit, you can do anything for 24 hours. So why not start now?"

                      • perfect timing! today is a DD for me, and the will is strong since I had a nice UD yesterday and the scale this morning only showed a .2 uptick, but the tummy is growling. And yes, I can do anything for 24 hours! So far so good, only 18 hours to go, and heck I will sleep for at least 8 of those, personal hygiene for another hour or so, work 3 more, errand for another 2, and that only leaves 4 hours at most!

                        • 190.4 after an UD, which is AWESOME. Trying to make this an awesome DD today. Feeling tired (when don't I feel tired?) and slightly off. My boys are stressed that I'm going to be gone for 4 days. My DH gets really wigged out and pretty crazy when I'm gone. Sigh..............

NOT wanting to work. Need to get food made for the family while I'm gone!!

                          • yep, I know that when the jump up the scale is smaller after an UD, it significantly increases the likelihood of a total loss for the week, so it made me very happy yesterday morning to see it was only .2. It also makes me feel like my body is getting used to the program when the swings are smaller.

When my kids were very little, my uncle passed away and I went to his funeral and left Honey home with the kids. Boo held his waste till I got home. When I came into the house, he was walking like a little old man bent over from the discomfort! He hugged me then ran into the bathroom They strongly preferred it when he went out of town and left us at home as opposed to when I was away.

I so understand the not wanting to work!

                            • Food prep in the morning goes no better than later in the day. Sabine, I don't know how you do it.... I have GOT to taste as I cook. Unfortunately, I usually have a small meal while tasting.........

                              • I find that is usually the case for me as well. And then even if I succeed and make it through cooking I fall during putting away left overs.
