I started on week 3 level 3, which was fine until I got to day 2, then I struggled to make the last set. Only by a couple, but repeated day 2 a couple of times the dropped back a week.

    Give it a whirl :-)

Didn't really feel like I got much if a workout yesterday, so about 5 mins after doing the max tests I hit them again.
45 press ups again, but only managed 10 pull-ups.

This morning I finally pulled my finger out and went to a hardware store to pick up the gear to make some PVC pipe parrallettes:
      http://baye.com/diy-parallettes/

I've seen a lot of comments on US websites about it being so cheap to make these, well... Certainly ain't the case here in NZ.
$45 for approx 10ft of pipe, which wasn't too bad, but then another $25 For EACH of the 4 T pieces and 4 elbows.

Back to the drawing board on that one I think. 5 new tyres and a new exhaust trump a new toy unfortunately :-(

My log of Push ups over the past couple weeks. Pull-ups also done straight after the push-ups at half the numbers:

Missed today's workout due to only getting 3hrs sleep last night and a major hangover today. Was a good night, but way too much tequila involved :-)

            Today's workout:

            Push-ups

            Pull-ups

Followed by a delicious dinner of cauliflower, gai lan, golden kumara and my "world famous in New Zealand" beef tendon curry stew:

So last night I tested pull-ups and hit 20 before falling off the bar, good to be back up there and an increase of 10 since Nov 27th :-)

              Tonight's workout - push-ups:

Pull-ups (concentrated on going slower and full hang to really open my shoulder blades):
              12 10 7 10 10

Had to pick up my car this morning from where I'd left it last night, approx 3 miles away, it was a nice day so decided to run it instead of getting a lift.

First time I've run more than a hundred metres at a time for many months, so felt pretty good that I did it in 24 mins and averaged 8.08 min/miles :-)

I'm sure I'm not going to be walking to well tomorrow though, my calves are feeling pretty tight tonight.

I wasn't wrong, 5 days later and my calves are just back to normal... guess that means that I need to get off of my arse and out running a little more often

Thanks Gwamma, all good. Just a reminder that I've been getting lazy and pushed it too far first time back on the road.
Need to ease back into it, maybe start with a short run once a week to begin with.

Was feeling a little wiped yesterday, so decided to do a test day instead of training.
Max push-ups dropped back to 35 and was knackered after them, so didn't even attempt pull-ups.

Looking back, my sleep hasn't been fantastic this week and rushing around at work has meant that I've skipped lunch a couple of times, which is no biggie in the grand scheme of things, but it's meant that my protein and calorie intake has been reduced. I've certainly lost a little muscle on my arms though and I have to train hard and eat a horse to maintain anything over my natural set point.

Will focus on getting enough protein & calories this week and hopefully sleep better and see how it goes.

So push-up workout is back on track:

Some random meals from the past week:

Chicken in a spicy tomato sauce, with golden kumara and cauliflower.

Roast pork belly and kumara and veggies.

Lol don't think anyone is offended Gwamma :-D

Got up early this morning as I couldn't sleep, so was in work by 0730, which meant I escaped early and was home by 1700.
Mowed the front and back gardens, sat in the sun for a while and then cooked dinner.

Gravy steak chilli, with red kumara and mixed salad. I love the way my old cast iron pot makes everything taste good :-)
