  • Went through four boxes last night. Didn't thin it out as much as I'd hoped ( I will live somewhere I can keep the kettle on the stove again, dag nab it!) but my pile to sell is growing. I'm thinking, depending on how the first one goes, I might end up going back through for a harsher clean for a second flea market run.

I can't handle another roommate. If I'm moving, I'm moving into my own place one way or another. Even if I can't put the RV on the farm property, living in one is getting more and more attractive. I hate moving and I really need a place where I can just write on the daggone walls. I need a place that's mine. I need a real home, you know?

    • I totally get where you are coming from. Keep sending requests for your needs to be met out to the universe. I know you will find a way!

      • Meeting with the folks about the farm property tonight. Seems they're still looking to see if the no RV rule applies to them or it's an HOA thing for other people. My fingers and toes are crossed that it doesn't apply to them!

Breakfast was not helpful, but I had a salad for lunch and it was fantabulous. It is so salad season!

        • Legality, shmegality. It's altogether silly that I can't have chicken coops and/or an apiary on the property until there's a house. The trials of living around the monied set, I suppose. But, we're still working on it.

          • Well, that farm idea crashed and burned. I think they're going to submit the waiver for the RV just to see if it works, but I'm not holding my breath. At least these folks were very good communicators through the process. That means a lot.

But- I'm taking the 1000-day challenge. One step every day toward a viable farm. Doesn't have to be a big one, just a step.

Day 1- e-mailed a friend about living in an RV year-round. Costs, etc. She did it for a while, so she will probably have some tips and pointers. This counts as working toward the farm because if I'm spending 75% of the time I'm home wanting to scream because of the person I live with, I simply haven't got the energy to do what needs to be done toward the farm. Also- I'll have kitchen access any time I need it, which will increase the probability of me cooking.

            • *peeks back in the forum*

I dunno if anybody's still around, but I think I'll be poking my nose back in here for a while. My food has been all wrong and I could use a place where I don't get looked at funny for putting butter on my steak!

              • A quick update on where I am:

                Weight: 266#
Energy: Poor but better than a year ago
Housing: With the parents (yay adulting.)
                Animals: Chickens, bees, worms

I read the GAPS book and I was loving the pureed soups- wicked easy to pack up in the morning for all my meals. But then summer arrived and hot soup when the air can be like breathing hot soup is just not cool. So I'm trying to be GAPS compliant, but for hot weather and I'm not sticking with it. I'm currently reading the UltraMind Solution which was leant to me by a friend. All I can think as I'm reading it is, more fat, less soy, and hmm, there are one or two extras to add to a Primal lifestyle.

My world fell apart and I'm working on putting it back together. The food is a very big part of it, and the GAPS diet was awesome to give me a very clear this is good vs SAD is not good. The reactions both ways were very fast and very strong. I think for the summer, though, I need to go back to big-ass salads and pan-fried meats. Do the soups again once the weather calms down. The food is kind of a pain in the butt, since I'm cooking for myself in Mom's kitchen, but when I get it right I can get more done. Which is a good thing, since I have chickens scattered in three places in the yard and haven't gotten a smooth rhythm down for feeding them.

I have gotten a job at a company I like, which is good, and a shift that works really well with my daily cycles, which is better. I just need to use the standing desk more.

Life is moving forward again- just not at the speed I want.
