  • My get fit and don't eat my pet rabbit, 30 Day Challenge

My name Is Holly And I'm a long time lurker of Marks Daily Apple.
I've toyed with Primal off and on for about a year now. External forces have always thwarted my efforts (sugar binging roommate and my friends in college). I tend to get let the will power of pizza ruin my goals and set me back, but in general I abstain from bread and excess sugar. I recently bought the Primal Blueprint book before I knew about the challenge. In the long run I have about 130lbs to loose, but I know if I can get through these first 30 days the rest will be easy.

    My prechallenge stats are:
    Age: 22
    Height: 5'8"
    Weight: 260.4 lbs

I plan to spend this next month:
    1. Getting at least 8 hours of sleep a day/ night
    2. Stay way from the cheese cake and scones at work ( public enemy #1 & 2)
    3. 3-5 hours of exercise each week
    4. Drop a pants size
    5. Encouraging my friends to eat primaly
    6. promoting awareness of the evilsness of grains

Welcome to PB! I hope you find the 30 day challenge worth while. My only advice is to worry less about selling the idea to others and focus on yourself and what you need for the next 30 days. You are what matters ... nothing and no one else does. Enjoy the food, enjoy the exercise, celebrate every freaking day and honor yourself.
My primal journal that I don't update enough:

      D: Skipped
S: 4 squares of dark chocolate, Greek yogurt, milk

no cravings for bread or sugar so all in all a good day!

        Thanks for the advice girlarchitect!
I think I included those mainly to push myself to tell others why I'm turning down pizza. So I'm not hiding my lifestyle changes from all my friends.

          Day 2:

Highly relaxing and productive day until work called me in an emergency then I ended up cranky... again.

          B: Scrambled eggs and walnuts
          L: BAS same as yesterday
D: RIBS! and green beans with bacon bits
S: 2 squared of chocolate, A berry smoothie: 1/3 cup mixed berries, 1/3 cup coconut milk, a dash of Cinnamon and Vanilla

Work out: 45 minute walk first thing after I woke up, and a 20 minute light swim after dinner.

I'm curious about your pet rabbit. Are you tempted to eat it?

Quiet often yes when Wash is being a jerk and chewing on cords and what not. She's a White albino Mini Rex I believe, she's owned me for 7 ish month now. I brought a kitten home this week to see if I could adopt it but Wash has been a viscous viscous rabbit, chasing and biting the kitten. I swear she could be the Monty Python rabbit when she's angry.

My friends still joke about how Wash would make delicious stew on occasions. I've never admit how tempted I was before I officially adopted her (Found her in the middle of the road)

Heh. I think rabbits are the cutest thing in the world and could never eat one unless I would starve otherwise, and even then I would have to force myself to do it.

Yes they're cut and yes I would have a hard time killing them unless I was starving or she was eating my vff. But I would do it....

i lived with a rabbit -- october j -- for a decade (exactly a decade -- he was kinda magical!) and rabbits are amazing. he was a dutch-rex mix, and i never thought to eat him.

but i would eat rabbit in general, and october j explained a lot about his perspective on his kind. ok, that's woo-woo, but i do a lot of animal communication.

Hi Holly. I am 22 and am also doing the challenge! I have been playing with Paleo for about 7 months before this and decided its time to do it. The biggest problem I had to doing it before was pressure from my advisors, friends and boyfriend to eat CW. Stick with it! I want to challenge someone... stick with it and we can do this together!
Quit being paranoid, Brianna! Everyone is way too wrapped up in their own problems to be hating on you.

Haha that is so funny. She sounds gorgeous though. I like to think I could eat animals we raised but I'd probably chicken out at the last minute!

It's illegal to have pet rabbits where we are (they're a pest) so I am not sure if that makes it legal to eat any you find?
