(Thank you for saving me from googling the rest of the performance)
ZOMG, you have to watch the whole thing!!! It was utterly bizarre. And more than a little gross. Of course, that's not quite fair of me to say when I'm twerking for a cheering crowd while writing this post.
Thank you LF! I thought I was gonna have to call my local friendly vamp & ask for a glamour there for a minute. Her mama & daddy must be so proud! That was just unbelievably tasteless. But she knew that going in. It's all about the publicity of which it's getting a lot.
While I do realize that it was a ridiculous stage performance for many reasons... the popular response to it has been equally ridiculous in it's vilification of Miley Cyrus.
White girls are not allowed to show sexuality without out remorse. Ever. Or they are whores. Period.
Has anyone noticed that no one has mentioned the many black female dancers also twerking their little hearts out? Why not? Maybe because people expect brown skinned women to behave more sexually. Terrible double standards.
The whole dance sequence was choreographed and rehearsed and the portion where Miley dances around in the costume implying nudity, and then goes ass in the air, butt pressed against Robin Thicke's groin is intentional and in direct reference to RT's "unrated" video for his song Blurred Lines which he was singing during that time.
No one is lambasting poor, dear, married RT for his part in this fiasco... quite the opposite in fact, people feel bad for him. WTF? It was his stage show too. He was just as much a part of it as she was.
And that little song is all about the "blurred lines" around not quite consensual sex BTW. Nice. Blurred Lines (Unrated Version) - Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell Williams & T.I.
But having white male privileged RT gets the "boys will be boys" free pass... and anything and everything wrong with that stage performance was all, 100% Miley's fault.
When discussing this particular scandal and comparing the dancing actions to to past dancing maneuvers to VMA acts performed by black or latino male rap/hip hop stars with female dancers that were very similar that got exactly zero "scandalous" attention because, you know... those guys just act that way? I was also dismissed.
Most Americans are being lead around by a freakish cultural ring in their nose and cannot think for themselves with any logic to save their lives. Bunch of bigots, slut shamers, and body police need to go jump off a bridge somewhere. A tall one.
Oh Sweet Valhalla. I was standing at the dairy case in the supermarket today, and found myself aimlessly staring at the cartons and muttering "Twerkin' by the millllllllllk, twerkin' by the milllllllllllllk....".
I blame you, Gay Pandashian! ::shakes fist::
I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.
