  • Decided to offhandedly weigh myself this morning. 158. So surprised considering I was eating at maintenance calories. Yay!

    • Saturday I went on a 3 hour hike, and ate maybe 15 eggs and 7 egg whites after breakfast of bp coffee with a Tbsp of coco oil and half a Tbsp of ghee. Also for dinner I had a bit of rice wrapped in a tea leaf ("chinese tamale") with dried shrimp, chinese sausage, and some pork. Was sooooo stuffed.

      Had a lot of rice-based stuff today, possibly with a bit of soy thrown in, and wine last night. I think I was at a small caloric deficit anyway, but feel bloated today. >_> Also I had 3 hours of sleep so let's see how well I do at the gym lol

      • Last night at the gym was just okay. Was feeling really out of it, so some lifts were kind of junky.

        Need to start listing my sets again to keep track:

        Ass to grass squats: 45x1x5, 95x1x5, 115x1x5, 145x1x5, 155x1x3, 155x1x2, 145x1x5
        Overhead press: 45x1x5, 65x1x5, 75x1x3, 75x1x2, 70x1x3, 70x1x2, 65x1x6
        Deadlift: 135x1x5, 185x1x5, 225x1x3, 245x1x1

        Food was a pound of pet burger with spinach and ginger and a little more than a pound of purple sweet potato. Mmmm

        Ohhhh and in other news, I got myself a pullup bar. Time to finally work on those bodyweight pullups xD

        • Arghhhh I'm having blog withdrawals since I just moved. I don't have internets except at work. Sooo frustrating

          On Tuesday I went on an eating spree of coconut flakes again. Think I clocked around 500 calories worth? This was addition to lunch of kimchi and green onion soup with a few slices of beef and about half cup of rice (MSG overload!!), and dinner of 11 eggs and 1 egg white with about a pound and a half of fresh tomatoes.

          Yesterday I managed to fast for 24 hours, and had the 5g of BCAA powder about an hour before training. I don't think it helped at all. Lifts were:

          Squat: 45x1x5, 95x1x5, 135x1x5, 155x1x5, 155x1x3,2, 155x1x3,2.
          Bench: 45x1x8, 95x1x5, 115x1x2, 115x1x2, 105x1x5, 105x1x4,1, 105x1x4,1.
          Bunch of snatches, but they were really low energy. I couldn't even do more than a few reps of 65lbs. Argh.

          Dinner was then a pound of petburger with almost 2lbs of bok choy, 3 eggs, 2 egg whites, and a small yam.

          • Yikes, think I ate too little following my training the day before. I was craving carbs, so I walked to the korean store and bought a bunch of tteok. Ate like maybe 250g carbs worth of rice cake? Oh well, tasted good So total food count for the day yesterday was coffee, a pound of liver, a half pound of onion in a spoonful of ghee, a small yam, 8 eggs, and 4 egg whites in addition to the 1000 calories of tteok. I also did a barefoot run of about a mile and a half in addition to my total 1 hour of walking throughout the day. Meh.

            So full today. Easiest 24 hour fast ever.

            • Friday: Tabatas and about 1600 calories in Chinese egg and tomato, yams, petburger, and asparagus. Plus a very large glass of wine that promptly made my throat all scratchy all weekend.

              Saturday: 5 mile hike, 1.5 mile walk, 18 eggs and egg whites, and a petburger with seaweed. And a yam. Followed up with some miso soup and seaweed because my throat was scratchy.

              Sunday: About an hour or two of walking while shopping for food? Bought a bunch of seafood for the week, since I used up all my pet burgers. And lots of vegetables and eggs. Dinner was a quarter pound of coconut flakes, fish braised with tomatoes and onions, and like 1500 calories from butter mochi. Whoops. Was delicious with company, though

              • Starting to feel sick from lack of sleep. Average for the week was like 6 hours maybe. Planning on fasting through dinner if I can get to bed at a decent hour today.

                Workout on Monday was:
                Squat: 45x1x5, 95x1x5, 125x1x5, 155x1x5, 155x1x3, 155x1x2, 155x1x3, 155x1x2
                OHP: 45x1x5, 65x1x5, 70x1x5, 70x1x5, 70x1x5
                Deadlift: 135x1x5, 185x1x5, 225x1x4, 235x1x2

                Came home to eat a pound of chicken neck bones, 9 eggs, 3 egg whites, a pound of celery, an onion, a small yam, and maybe another 600 calories worth of sugar and starch (and some protein from the yogurt!) from the homemade low fat pumpkin mochi. I basically ate myself sick on that. Way too sweet That's the last I'm going to invest in carb up from sweet stuff.

                • Tuesday:

                  I was pretty tired and voice was pretty raspy. I went on about an hour bike ride running errands, and ate about 2500 calories worth of eggs, veggies, cod, coconut flakes, and tteok. I realized that the recent gas I've been having is from the beans in the tteok. Whoops.

                  Had solid sleep last night though because of the huge carb intake. This morning was bloated from the white wine and salt in the dijon I used to cook the cod.

                    Came back from shitty lifting at gym:

                    Snatches: 45x1x5, 55x1x5, 65x6x2

                    Came home and ate way more eggs than planned. Shitton of cabbage, a pound of elk, almost a pound of yams, 6 eggs, and 4 egg whites. I meant to eat the egg whites only, but felt like eating the yolk on some too. Oh well, still woke up hungry this morning.

                      Gah, more lack of sleep. Ran a bunch of errands involving 1-2 hours of walking after work. Ate a LOT of coconut flakes (1k calories worth) after eating a pound of fish cooked with a pound of tomatoes and onions. And like half a dozen eggs and half a dozen egg whites.

                        Taking a brief break from squats at the gym. Workout was:

                        OHP: 45x1x5, 85x1x1, 70x1x5, 70x1x5, 75x1x5
                        Deadlift: 135x1x5, 225x1x1, 250x1x1

                        Then did a bunch of tabatas. Kind of sore today, but I'm getting used to them finally XD

                        Dinner was romaine, tomato, and cucumber salad with rotisserie chicken and a full cup of uncooked sticky rice. Mmmm sticky rice....

                        • Saturday:

                          All I can say is: fuck.

                          Morning had some coffee. Then I went to paddling practice that took an hour drive. Worked fairly hard, but didn't feel like I paddled much; maybe burnt off like 200-300 calories if I had to estimate at my own intensity.

                          Driving back I almost fell asleep on the road because I was that tired -.- Went to a bath house and relaxed on the salts for a bit. The korean old lady that fell asleep in the room kept intermittently snoring, which prevented me from being able to take a nap.

                          Came back at 4 and ate a pound of liver, an onion, a pound of red cabbage, a half pound of taro, a small sweet potato (blegh, I am never buying the red ones that Americans love again), 10 egg whites, and 2 eggs. Was super duper stuffed.

                          After taking care of some things in the evening, I felt a craving for carbohydrates. Probably exhausted my miniscule amount of glycogen stores at practice, so I ate a pound of Korean rice cakes. AND THEN I DUG IN THE PANTRY FOR SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS from baking a while back. D'OH. I know it's from TTOM coming up in a week or so, but fuck. I was doing so well on the no chocolate train for over a month. Possibly it's also bf withdrawals as I did not hang out with him yesterday >_<

                          • Sunday:

                            Gave in to a half pound of Dutch sheep milk gouda as a quick lunch. SO GOOD. Also very salty and noticeably raised my insulin/blood pressure. Won't be consuming that anytime soon. At least I didn't get more cravings for cheese.

                            Dinner was a pound of cod cooked with onions and a shitton of dijon mustard. SO GOOD but way increased my sodium/bloating factor due to the white wine. I also ate a small yam because it was getting moldy at one end, and 8 egg whites and 2 eggs. I actually went to bed slightly nauseous because I needed sleep, but I knew I needed the extra protein from those eggs to tide me over and not make me starve during the night.

                            Exercise for the day was strolling for 4 hours along the beach. Awesome.

                              • HOLY CRAP I ate so much yesterday. Turns out my TTOM got irregular, possibly from all the stress I've been having lately. Got it this morning =\

                                For Monday, the food was as follows:
                                10 boiled eggs in the morning. Americano with heavy cream for lunch. Dinner was fried cauliflower rice in grass fed ground beef, two small sweet potatoes, and another 6 eggs. Followed by a heckofalot of nori.

                                Good thing I worked kind of hard at the gym? =\
