  • I am not sure. She does mot to well with too much interpersonal time.

However, just got off the phone with her grandma (to ask if she minded me using the check she sent @ Christmas for camp for a trampoline instead since camp wont be happening) and was told that she will pay for the whole camp because she sees it is of great benefit to Lily. My stepmom is just amazing. Feeling so blessed right now.

ok, seeing no change in the scale, again. My calories and macros are right. I know I need to just be patient, it will come but dang it. I know I am preaching to the choir when I say its frustrating. I have not taken measurements but I will tell you my jeans no longer feel like boa constrictors.

The pain in my back is all but gone, however, I have been wearing "normal" shoes and I think they are why the top of one foot hurts like it was stomped on by an elephant. When will I learn to just keep minimalist footwear on and damn fashion?!!

      • if you are weighing daily I hope you are also posting it in your MFP where you added the category for high weights. It helps to remind you that you are in it for the long haul and not just for today's scale number.

So very sweet of stepmom to pay for camp!

Saw a trampoline that was level with the ground (obviously they dug a hole under it). You can always find a used one on ebay or craigslist. Maybe next Christmas?

          • so weighing daily and the same 3 pounds pop up and down. Its been this way for the last few days. I will continue to stay the course for another week or so before looking at something to tweak. I have had a little sweet potato everyday no not sure that is a factor. I am going to phase it out for a bit to see.

My foot hurts like the devil! Walking around, putting weight on it is at times unbearable. I am not feeling anything positive about the cortisone shot I had last night. I am also taking Aleve that was recommended but yeah, not seeing improvement there either. So frustrating because now I can not do the wii or treadmill. Well, maybe I need to just do more yoga on the wii. So many of those poses look HARD!

            • I think that the things that we do on a regular basis are the things that will make us lose or gain real weight. It may be that daily sweet potato needs to be switched out? I can't believe a little sweet potato really is going to make a difference. I forget, have you been tracking?

              What happened to your foot?

I did the yoga on the wii, don't remember it being terribly hard, don't they have a beginner? Dudla and I used to do a Sun Salutation yoga tape, the guy was ridiculous, it actually cracked us up, we did it for the laughs, I don't think we got much yoga in.

              • I doubt it is the sweet potato. What are your total losses for January? Maybe your body is taking a pause.

                • Your foot is inflamed, girl. You are not going to be able to trust the scale until that is taken care of............. And, I agree with P, you've been doing well. The body is not a stead weight loss machine.

                  • I have been tracking. My losses for January have been 7-10 pounds (that up and down motion lately).

You are right, its not like I am eating sweet potato at every meal etc. I have had a small portion at lunch everyday this week. I am a little constipated though (sweet potato- dang I demonize that thing!). I kind of like the starch at lunch, it helps get me through the afternoons.

As for the foot, I do not know exactly. Midday on Wednesday it was just super hard to walk on. Very painful.. hobbling... tears in eyes pain.. wanna throw up kind of pain. So, yesterday afternoon I went to the doctor because that is just not normal. Doc thinks there is a tumor of the nerve tissue and gave me a cortisone shot. OMG!! He said it might need surgery if it does not improve on its own. Right now, I am feeling NO RELIEF!

This is frustrating because I have started exercising again and am enjoying it. Ok.. the wii is fun and I am a dang fine hoola hooper and stepper. As for the yoga, I am liking them too but I have only been doing the standing ones and not the one legged balanced ones yet (I have no balance)

                    • WTH????? You have lost weight in January? OMG girl, look at the big picture!

re: constipation, I just saw an article on research that, contrary to popular belief, whole grains and that type of fiber is not the answer. It is the kind of fiber you find in veggies and fruits, so the sweet potato should not be causing problems (meds maybe?). Eat more greens and veggies.

the perfect way to exercise is to find a fun way to do it. Wii counts

Here is the breakdown: Before the knee brace I was 278. After the knee brace and the holidays I was up to 325 (AGAIN). I am floating now between 315-318.

                        • As we have learned, the weight never comes off as fast as it goes on. Our bodies are only willing to let go of a certain amount at once. Stay the Primal course.

This month, I lost the weight that I gained in December, but no matter how well behaved I was, nothing more came off. I am still up to 5 lbs over my lowest weight on any given day.

                          • Ladies, I'm up 30 lb over my low last year (and I've probably lost 5-10 lb this month), a weight I haven't been at in 4-5 years. It stinks. It's uncomfortable. But, the only thing we can do is hop back on the train and go forward. We cannot change the past.

                            • come on now, you are not a newbie to this game, gotta stay the course. Every solution that gives a quick result has failed you, now is the time to just take it one day at a time, keep track of what you eat (so you can figure out what works and what doesn't) and what you weigh (so that you can look at the downward trend of the graph) and fight hard not to tweak too soon.

Numerous studies have shown that exercise does not speed up (nor does lack of exercise slow down) weight loss. It is essential for good health, but plays no significant role in loss. Focus on your eating, move what and when you can, and watch the ounces drop off.

                              • Good new: cold is on its way out, hard back from the doctor and they are trying to get me into the specialist today for the foot...Oh and the best?? The weekend is finally here.

Yes I know: it does not come off as fast as it goes on, best thing is to stay the course, good fiber is fruits and veggies etc.

Thank you ladies for posting perspective.

Edit: won't be able to get in to see the foot Dr today..have to wait a week! Grrr
