  • Note to self........Remember the camera this time!

    Something has had me severely bloated the last couple of days. Shrimp Louie for dinner both nights. I'll be really cranky if shrimp has to go on my no-no list. 184.1 this morning with a distended abdomen and a rumbly gut. I know it is temporary but I could sure do without it.

    • Perhaps something in the sauce they put on the shrimp? I can hardly think there is anything offensive about shrimp -- unless the shrimp were slightly "off" --- they very easily go bad if left to thaw on the counter too long or not properly cooked. hope you feeling better soon!

      • I had shrimp yesterday without the bloating so I think you are right about the dressing, Tomi.

        I walked 22+ miles on our camping trip and was very pleased to see that the squatting has my legs and butt muscles strong enough to handle the uphills effortlessly. It was actually pleasureable to feel my muscles working on the uphill.

        Scale is back at 184 but I am not going to sweat it as I did not pig out. Probably a reaction to last night's migraine headache vomiting. Lower key day for me today but I am not down for the count.

          • I am reasonably certain that my contact prescription is no longer the right one, hence the headaches. Calling the eye doc today.

            • 182.8 heading back down where I had been. Whew!

              I have found a source for homegrown eggs and the really nice thing is she won't let me pay her! I have my ways, though. She is an avid hiker so at some point I'll give her an REI gift certificate in appreciation.

              • Yeah for homegrown eggs! I just found out my sister has more than she can eat and will be providing us with the overflow!

                • New low this morning 181.3. Scale be damned. When I look in the mirror I am overall leaner looking. Still not where I want to be but things are changing for the better. Started the year at 192.7 so even though I think I'm getting nowhere, I am wrong.

                  I have been tracking am and pm weights and it is interesting to see where my weightt has spiked. Very clearly sneaking wheat products in or something inflammatory makes the weight go up. Thank goodness it goes back down quickly. All the more reason not to cheat.

                  Goat cheeses and goat milk yogurt do not seem to cause the bloating problems for me that the cows milk products do. Wish I had access to truly raw milk to see if it is the milk or the pasteurizing that causes me problems.

                  Hubbyis going out of town for a few days and I am really looking forward to foraging for meals rather than having set, planned meals and mealtimes. Also looking forward to not sitting down in front of a television for three or four hours every night. What a total waste of time and I have let myself fall into the habit of it. Not enough time to exercise? Bull. Do you know how many miles [I] could be walking in that time frame?? Must change this. No excuse for having a dirty kitchen, either. I can and will make the time.

                  • WAHOO!! Pulled seven pair of jeans out of the "no longer fit me" box and put them back in the rotation. Four pair of super baggy going to the homeless.
                    It feels so good to have progress after eighteen months without. Here's hoping the hormone stuff is behind me.

                    • Being a Wonder Woman right now. I am simultaneously making a blackberry/blueberry pie, cinnamon rolls, olive and cream cheese spread, pot roast and breakfast casserole for DH to take with him when he leaves tomorrow. As Primally as possible. My kitchen is a disaster and i am looking forward to not cooking at all tomorrow.

                      Whew.

                                Looks like it will be sooner rather than later. 180.7 this morning, 180.1 this afternoon. This is unreal!

                                Tonight's appetizer is Italian dry salami (Wegman's brand, all natural) with plain goat cheese. Nothing to cause me problems, very tasty and oh, so Primal!
