    Could it be that I am seeing definition in my abs with riding my bke (for fun) being the only exercise I do? I still have a long long way to go. I was kind of disappointed when I searched back for a thread on "stretch marks" and pretty much figured out I am stuck with that crap. When I get down to where I want to be, all the excess skin is coming off. That is my gift to myself when all of this is done.

    Today my abs feel sore/stretched and I didn't do anything but ride my bike yesterday and maybe have sex the night prior to that. Weird.

        Yesterday, I ate too much bacon. Maybe it was a combination of too much bacon, nothing else, and cramping from Aunt Flo, but good grief - I was miserable almost all day yesterday.

        Today I am going to get my measurements and try to go by that instead of what the scale says.

        I know I've lost some inches already - I'm going to have to dig for the last recorded measurements I did (last year) to see what the difference is because I did not measure first this time. Right now, mentally I feel pretty sexy, but when I look in the mirror and see all the loose skin from having four big babies, it's a little depressing. I'm hoping that some of that goes away as I lose weight. It's a little scary looking.

            Well Done

            Re the snacks - I just love cold meat left overs - quick easy and if the worst comes to the worst I get a cooked chicken or tin of salmon etc and just have that.
            1st June 11 to 30st Aug 11 - 36lb removed in 13 weeks
            Messed about on and off for the rest of the year

            June 2012 - Had the practice - now time to do it for real

              Oh wow, we have similar approaches to 'dieting' over the years. I just don't have four babies to use as an excuse (not that you are, you know what I mean). Sounds like you are getting fab results. Measurements are a great idea. I meant to record my weight, but your post reminds me its more about the measurements.

                You will get bogged down with the number on the scale. Trust me on this - this is exactly where I am today. I had to go the measurements route because the scale wasn't saying what I wanted it to say. LOL

                    You don't eat much!

                    Have you tried coconut milk to unblacken your coffee, rather than powdered cream?

                    Do you make your own guacamole? I can never get it right.

                      I feel like I eat a bunch! Of course, the food I eat is really filling, too.

                      I've tried the coconut milk and I didn't like it. I may have gotten the wrong thing though. I'm going to try again.

                      I do make my own quacamole - coarsely mashed avocado, minced onion (white or red), dash of chili powder, tiny bit of lemon juice, diced tomatoes if I have them, salt to taste.

                        Today wasn't a good day emotionally. My counterpart at work is on vacation so I have to take on her job as well as mine. On top of that, one of my other coworkers was out sick, and I'm the only one trained to do a big part of her job. So I was doing three jobs today, and none of them well.

                        Then the stupid man issues - I won't even bother with that.

                        B: cottage cheese, orange
                        coffee w/nondairy creamer/S&L (I bought coconut milk today and heavy cream, so tomorrow I start something new)

                        S: handful of almonds

                        L: plain greek yogurt with honey

                        D: we went out to Luby's Cafeteria. I had fried fish/tartar sauce with cabbage and green beans

                        CALORIES 1489 CARBS 155 FAT 65 PROTEIN 68
                        No exercise today.

                            B: vanilla greek yogurt with honey - NOTE: I am giving this up along with eating at breakfast time. I did much better with the 16 hour daily fast. Plus the honey is like crack.
                            Coffee with heavy cream/S&L, then another cup with F Vanilla coconut milk - I didn't think about the sugars until after I poured it. I took probably about 4-5 sips and then it sat on my desk.

                            L: beef taco salad

                            S: few chunks of cheddar cheese/pepper jack cheese

                            D: baked chicken, lima beans with bacon grease, caprese salad

                            S: two squares of Lindt 70% dark chocolate dipped in almond butter

                            No exercise today.

                            I weighed myself again today. I am really struggling with the scale but old habits die hard, I guess. Soooo frustrating!

                                Today was a good day. Went to the grocery store and bought more goodies. I am at 37g for carbs today so I probably should eat something else, but I think I'm just going to leave it alone.

                                I also rode my bike today and did some sprints.

                                I put jeans on yesterday that I haven't worn in years. They aren't quite ready for public consumption, but at least I buttoned them. I used to not be able to get them all the way up.
