  • Can anyone recommend a Protein Powder?

I am a college baseball player looking for a good postworkout protein supplement. I know that it is not optimal to use a protein shake, but most days it is all I can do while driving around from the gym to baseball games or work. I have done tons of research and am trying to find a protein that is healthy and fits the primal diet.

I recently ordered BioActive Nutrients Grass Fed Whey Protein to see how I like it.

Also I wanted to ask if anyone has information on Vega Sport Protein?

(Vega Sport - Natural Plant-Based Performance Protein)

I would also like the protein to be low in carbs and fat and not have any artificial sweeteners. Recently I learned that almost all protein powders on the market are "instantized" using soy lecithin. this is what makes them mix well with water/milk. Soy lecithin has a long list of effects, mostly because when it is made, harsh chemicals are used. I am hoping to find a protein that is made with minimal processing and is as pure as possible.

I use Gold Standard whey protein. It doesn't taste phenomenal, but a one-scoop serving is:

        Calories 130
        Calories From Fat 10
        Total Fat 1g
        Saturated Fat 0.5g
        Trans Fat 0g
        Cholesterol 30mg
        Sodium 60mg
        Total Carbohydrate 5g
        Dietary Fiber 1g
        Sugars 2g
        Protein 24g

I use this product because it does not contain any soy.

I use Bluebonnet Whey Protein Isolate. It has 3 ingredients, whey, vanilla (or cocoa depending on the flavor), and stevia.

            A 33gr scoop has 116 cal
            0 fat
            3 carb
            26 protein

It is from non rBGH treated cows and it actually tastes good.

              Jarrow Goat Protein

Crapless, pastured, and fermented so it has probiotic qualities.
