I hope your numbers are better today, maybe your body just needs a little bit of time to adjust to not having the meds? Could you at least go to a lower dose if you do have to go back on it?

How are you feeling? I hate the bloated, plump feeling. Except me feeling like that is ENTIRELY my fault, so for you to be feeling like that even though you've been 'good' is sucky!

      I hope you feel better.

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time w/ coming off the metformin. It's not an easy prescription to come off. I don't have personal experience w/ it but second hand thro' my mom and a couple of my friends. There's alot of people who experience weight-gain coming off, and some have trouble controlling their blood-sugar (keep in mind...none of the people I knew were on low-carb diets...). The weight-gain does seem to plateau/stop and it takes a while for the system to adjust. That saying, my mom went back on 'coz she didn't like the side-effects of coming off it. Give it some time to see how your body does.

thanks for the nice words, gals!

hannah, we'll see how it goes- it's all about the experimentation. It's the only reason I've gotten this far. I would like to ditch the birth control pill to see if that brings the numbers down also before I make the decision whether or not to go back on metformin. My gyno appt isn't till Dec 7 though.

Today I feel better- carnivore day so can't go wrong with that. I didn't sleep AT ALL last night though so I'm sitting here at my desk fighting to stay awake.

Totally not Survival Week friendly, but hot wine always puts me right to sleep- lol.

Hot wine you say? Hmmmm.... Stop putting absolutely dirty porn thoughts into my head Diana!!! (No alcohol 'till Christmas, No alcohol 'till Christmas....repeat Ingrid, repeat.....)

              I love carnivore days. Sigh....

Gyno appt on Dec 7th??? Wait, you are in Canada, no? Socialized Healthcare? For me, there's just one more downside, to balance out the good eh? (Like my Canadian 'Eh' reference? ;-)

Ha ha! That's right! I knew I was off, but I couldn't imagine having such a far off appt! ;-)

                    Hey...a fellow San-Diegan...lovely!

I had to wait 3 months for my docs appointment here (regular GP). What's up with that?

                    How's it going w/ the metformin-removal today?

How are we feeling? Bloated still? I sure hope not. I hate finger-sausages ;-)

No more finger sausages thank goodness. The bloating has passed.

Hey Nina- metformin removal is going swimmingly. There has been no noticeable difference in fasting sugars than when I was on metformin and all my 2 hour post prandials have been under 140.

My exercise lately has been the yoga DVD's and walking. It's fitting my mood perfectly and makes me feel refreshed and energized.

It rained here last night and of course that means everyone falls apart when they drive here. My 8 minute commute took an hour and 15 minutes. It wasn't even frickin raining this morning- it rained last night. Come on people.

Food today: eggs, bacon, coconut oil, heavy cream, salad from CPK, salmon, cauliflower, kalua pork.

Good to hear. I bet it's awesome being free of one more drug!

I can only imagine how freaked out Californians get in the rain!

Shoot, our local Seattlites are still complete freakazoids when it rains!!! Like, really? You should be used to this by now! (It's the high concentration of Californians who moved up here, I suspect ;-)

Yes it's totally the Californians that moved up there! I was born and raised in Oregon so driving in the rain is second nature and it irritates me to no end that it's such an issue.

You had my awful commute from last week! That sucks.

Glad to hear you're doing good off the metformin now, that's such a big deal! You make me want to drive all the way to Columbus to go to CPK...it's the only one in Ohio

I know! I totally thought of you too while I was sitting there.

If you ever come out here, I'll treat you to CPK :-)
